(KNOW YOUR OC!)

One way to make writing your story easier is to have a deep understanding of your character. Know your oc's personality beyond what scares them or if they're smart or not, etc. Once you know your person inside out, writing scenes with the other losers and dialogue becomes way easier !!

HERE'S SOME QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:

— are they introverted or extroverted?

— are they more fight or flight?

— how has their home life shaped them?

— would they believe in a killer clown or would they be skeptical?

— do they open up easily or are they more closed off?

— are they independent or do they thrive working with others? if they're independent; how will they fit in and kick ass with the losers?

— how much do they rely on the opinions of others?

— are they easily persuaded or stubborn?

— when are they most vulnerable?

— do they panic in high pressure situations or do they keep their calm?

— are they quick on their feet?

— what challenges do they face in everyday life?

— how will they live after battling pennywise? will it haunt them tremendously like stan, or will they cope better like bill?

— who would they be closest to out of all the losers?

— what music do they listen to? (kind of a weird one but you can learn a lot about someone based on their music taste)

— what motivates them?

— what are their interests or hobbies?

— do they get attached easily or do they ease into friendships/relationships?

— do they take charge or do they prefer to follow others?

— what makes them tick?

hope these helped you define your character more, because just like a real person, your oc has a personality and a way their brain works. when writing extreme situations (like fighting a child eating clown) or even a simple conversation, try to picture yourself in your oc's shoes !!
