Louis's POV :

It was an ordinary lunchtime, Niall was busy eating, Harry was dozing off, and Liam was trying to pursue Zayn to tag along with him to the gym, and Lily and Laura was nowhere to be seen.
"GUYS HAVE YOU HEARD?!" We all jolted up as Lily shouted, the screeching sound of chair indicating that she flopped down between me and Zayn.

"Now that I've heard your screaming Lily, I don't think I'll ever be able to hear, I'm pretty sure my ear is internally bleeding already- ouch-" I shrieked, stopping talking abruptly as Lily slapped me on my shoulder.

"So apparently, there is this Interdistrict Musical Band Competition, and the principals of each school are requested to send a band to represent their school there.
As you already know, the principal has changed in our school earlier this year, who had no idea that our band is leaded by Brian and Max. When she heard them perform, she decided to kick them out of the band. And when she realised who was behind these, she kicked Brian's dad out of the school music board as well."

"Karma got them too," Niall happily sighed, as we all cheered at the news. I could feel everyone around us giving us strange looks, but I couldn't care less. They should be used to this now, right?

"Wait a minute, Niall and Lily, aren't you two in the band as well?"
"Umm....about that...." Lily trailed.
"We decided not to be in the band when they didn't choose you, bro." Niall wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
My jaw dropped.
"You guys did what?"
"C'mon it's not a big deal-"
"Besides, who would want to be in a band with them?" Niall pretended to gag.
"But-you guys deserve to be in the band-"

"Well....about that, I'VE A NEWS."
"Ouch. Laura, not you too, my ear hurts from all the screaming."
She snorted, pushing me lightly, after sitting next to me.
"So....I went to the principal's office today.......and I may or may not have blurted out that you guys deserve a chance. And she's so nice, she immediately agreed!"
"WHAT?!"

"Come on Harry, don't act like it's something impossible. Let's face it, you all have such angelic voices. Niall was in the band last year, you wanted to be there but the time for registration expired, Louis was supposed to be there, and Liam was supposed to audition this year. About Zayn, he didn't want to be in the band because they were going to be so many strangers, but in this band it's just you guys. But it's your call guys, you can always say no."

"No, you're right. A band does sound like a great idea." Liam said.
"Wow. Us. A band. Sounds cool......But there are some other problems.... Like who will play the instruments?"
"Well, I can play guiter," Lily stated, "And...umm....Oh wait, you all remember my cousin Josh?"
"Yeah."
"He and his friends has their own instrumental band, they are the ones who taught me how to play guitar. They would agree if I tell them."
"Then it's settled."
"Wait, Laura?" I asked as I suddenly realised something, "what where you doing in the principal's office?"
"Umm....you all remember the piano competition from last year?"
"Yeah."

"Well, umm...." Laura trailed, and then, in a whisper, dhe said, "I want to participate this year."

Now, what will be the name of our band?"

"Niall and the potatoes."
"Huh? More like us and Niall the potato." I rolled my eyes.
"Unique selling point?"
"The 5 idiots."
"Aladdin and the peasants."

While me, Zayn, Niall, Lily and Liam were fighting over the names, Harry suddenly broke his silence.
"Guys, what about.....One Direction?"
We all went silent for a while, realizing how perfect the name was.

"One Direction it is."
