Skyler groaned in frustration.

They were getting no where with redesigning Lucas' weapon.

She sighed and continued her work, nearby Peter and Bruce were working just as hard.

Conner and Alexia watched in silence.

Annette had gone to talk with Charles about trying to locate Lucas, leaving the five of them in the lab alone.

"How's it going Sky?"
Conner asked breaking the silence.

"The opposite of everything positive."
She replied.

"Well, that's bad."

He could tell that Skyler was in a bad mood.

Bruce sighed.
"This technology is far more advanced then anything I've ever seen before."

"We'll figure it out Bruce."
Peter assured him.

Skyler snorted.

"Without Tony we're stuck. Face it Peter, it's time to drop the cheery attitude."

"Come on Sky, getting mad and dejected isn't going to solve anything."
Alexia narrowed her eyes at her.

"I know, I'm just frustrated."

Skyler turned back to her work.

"I just don't want to see anyone else get hurt."

Conner sighed as the room fell silent once again.

He needed something to do.

"Wanna go see what Annette's up to?"
He asked Alexia.

"Sure."
She shrugged.

"Be careful."
Bruce called after them as they left the room.

"We'll be fine!"
Conner assured him.

He had his bow and a quiver of arrows on his back.

If Lucas showed his ugly masked face again he would give him an explosive arrow to the face.

"What if Lucas comes here Conner?"
Alexia asked.

"We'll be fine Alexia. If he does show up he'll have me to deal with."

Alexia rolled her eyes.

"That, and a mansion full of some of the most powerful mutants in the world."

"Right."
Conner said.
"That too."

They found Annette walking down the hall towards them.

"What are you guys doing out here?"
She asked.

"We came to see what you were doing."
Conner replied.

"I was coming to see how Bruce and the others were doing."

"Long story short, not good."
Conner told her.

Annette sighed.

"Charles is trying to find Lucas, but the guy is impossible to
find."

"Does he have a plan to find him though?"
Alexia asked.

"He said the only thing we'd be able to do is wait for him to attack again, and then maybe we'll be able to plant some kind of tracker on him."

"Like that would work."
Conner sighed.

The three stood in silence for a moment.

"Do you guys here humming?"
Alexia asked.

"You hear it too? I thought it was just me."
Conner said looking around.

"Guys-"
Annette started.

A huge explosion came from.behind them and knocked them off their feet.

Conner looked up as dozens of Lucas' soldiers poured into the mansion.

Oh great....

He stood up and grabbed his bow, fitting an arrow into the bowstring.

Here we go again.

"I appreciate your concern Maria. But I don't need bodyguards."

Cam turned on his heel and walked away from her and Anthony, taking a bite out of some more pie.

"Don't you understand Cam? Lucas is coming for you next. He will kill you!"
Anthony grabbed his shoulder and stopped him from walking.

"I can handle Lucas. If he tries to kill me he's going to have a hard time doing it."

"At least stay with Anthony."
Maria pleaded.

Cam sighed.
"Alright, but I don't want to turn around and see a bunch of SHIELD agents hiding behind my back."

Maria smiled.
"You have my word as a SHIELD agent."

She walked off leaving Anthony and Cam alone.

"Wow. That was unusual."

The turned around and saw Natasha walking towards them.

"What was?"
Cam asked in confusion.

"Maria, smiling, and attempting to be funny? That's not normal."
She replied.

"What are you implying?"
Cam finished off his slice of pie.

"Oh nothing. You'll figure it out eventually."

Natasha left leaving Cam standing confused next to Anthony.

"What was she talking about?"

Anthony shook his head, his mask hiding his amused smile.

"Let's go Cam."

"Come on Anthony, what was she saying?"

Anthony ignored him as they continued down the hall.

Jane watched as Cam and Anthony walked away.

She knew what she had to do.
She would do it, she could do it.

What about Anthony?

Don't kill him yet, but if he sees you, make sure that he doesn't remember.

Got it.

Don't mess this up Jane.
You know what will happen if you do.

She did know, she knew all too well.

I won't fail.

We'll see.

Jane creapt forward silently, it would take one blast of fire or ice to kill Cam, unless he adapted.

She sighed.

Cam could make himself immune to heat and cold.

How could she do this?

"Hey Jane!"

She jumped and spun around, glaring at Lyra.

"What are you doing?!?!"
Jane shouted.

"Whoa, calm down Jane. It was an accident."

Lyra narrowed her eyes at her.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."
Jane snapped.

"You don't sound fine."

"Just leave me alone Lyra!"

Jane stormed off.

Lyra watched her go.

What's wrong with her?

Lyra decided to tell Steve, she knew that he was busy but she was worried about her friend.

Quickly she ran to find Steve.
