Anyone recognize the title? Here's a hint it's from a Marvel movie! Okay so sorry about the super long wait but I've finally got this chapter out and I hope that you all enjoy it! And thanks for sticking with me all this time!

We're getting killed out here!

Cam dodged a bullet fired from the gun of a soldier and quickly retaliated with a shot of his own.
He cursed under his breath as he ran out of ammo.

Great, I feel like I've been fighting for weeks!

Around him it was chaos, the heroes were getting hit on all sides, he saw countless SHIELD agents and other heroes go down. Some got back onto their feet again, while others remained motionless on the ground.

What are these things made out of?

Cam focused back on the task at hand, killing as many of these soldiers as he could while also trying to kill Lucas.

But that was clearly easier said than done, Lucas' soldiers were everywhere! The outnumbered the heroes a hundred to one.

There's no way we can hold out for much longer.

Just then he heard an angry shout from a few feet away.
Cam spun around and recognized Maria, fighting desperately for her life.

Cam immediately went after her, anger and fear over losing Maria caused him to tear down any soldier that got in his way.

Once he reached her side he made himself as hard as steel and punched the living daylights out every soldier that surrounded Maria.

After he finished off the last one he quickly turned all of his attention to Maria.

"You okay?"
"I'll be fine once we finally start getting rid if these soldiers!"
She scowled as she took in the scene around them.

"They just keep coming!"
Cam looked up at the sky and watched as heroes and flying soldiers battled in the air. His eyes widened in horror as he saw Falcon go down, and Angel right after him.

How can this possibly get any worse?

"Watch out!"
Cam had no time to react to Maria's warning as a soldier shot a gun right at Cam's head.

He closed his eyes waited for the bullet to hit its mark, but was surprised when he didn't completely lose conciousness as he thought he would.

Luckily for him he had made himself bullet-proof as soon as he'd heard the gun shot. He was also surpised to find that the soldier who had fired the gun had just been killed by-

Pink glitter?

"How are you doing bro?"
Cam looked up and saw a girl who seemed to be his age and had butterfly wings flying down towards him.

"Not much. Bout time you got here Caly."
"Wait, who is this?"
Maria asked studying the new arrival skeptically.

"Maria, this is my twin sister Caly. Caly, this is my girlfriend Maria."

Caly stuck her hand out for Maria to shake.
"Nice to meet you. And it'a about time you got yourself a girlfriend Cam, instead of eating pie all day."

"Ha ha. Very funny, now in case you didn't notice sis, we're kinda in a situation right now."

"Oh yeah, I noticed that when I flew in. And by the way, I brought a few friends with me."

Maria tapped Cam's shoulder and he looked past Caly in disbelief.

More heroes were coming!
Mutants, independant heroes, Spider-Man, and he almost couldn't believe it when a spaceship appeared out of nowhere with music blaring from its speakers.

So Starlord got my message after all. Although I could do without the music.

And what shocked Cam most was seeing Elizabeth, Conner, and most surprisingly Del, running in and joining the fight.

He noticed that Del was holding something in her arms, a big strange looking gun.

Then it hit him: the gun Bruce had wanted to build! She'd done it!

Way to go Del, I knew you had it in you.

All they needed now was a clear shot at Lucas....

I hope I live to regret this later.

Conner thought as he began shooting arrows into multiple soldiers.

It sounded like a good idea at the time, hang back at the Mansion and let everyone else handle everything, but nope! You just HAD to be involved some way!

Conner and Elizabeth had come with all the other reinforcements and had been surprised to run into Del.

He had barely seen her since her dad died, and he'd barely had any time to talk to her.

But as soon as he saw the gun she was holding he knew that the tables were about to turn.

All Del needed was a clear shot at Lucas, and then whoever had gotten their powers stolen by Lucas would get them back.

Hopefully....

But getting a clear shot was proving to be very difficult.
Lucas was on the complete opposite side of the battlefield, and he was using all the powers he had stolen against all of the heroes, not caring that he was killing a few of his own soldiers in the process.

And why doesn't that surprise me?

"Conner! Elizabeth!"
Steve ran up to them, tired and exausted, but still standing.
"What are you doing here? And you Del! I told you all to stay-"

"Del's got the super-power-bringer-backer that will get our powers back!"
Conner interrupted waving his arms around frantically.

"We have to shoot Lucas with it so we can get everyone's powers back!"

Conner waited for Steve's response, he seemed confused for a moment before finally answering.

"Alright, we'll get you a clear shot. But you'll only have one chance Del, if you miss Lucas is certain not to give you another chance."

Del nodded and gripped the gun tighter. Steve called for whoever was closest to them to get over there as fast as they could.

He got more or less what he expected when Starlord's ship hovered above them.

Starlord poked his head out of the window and looked down at them.

"Hey Cap! Need a lift?"
"No, but she does."
Steve said pointing at Del.
"Got it. Beaming you up- whatever your name is."

"Uh Peter? Your ship can't do that."
Rocket said loading his gun.
"It can't? Well crap. Groot would you mind?"

"I am Groot."
"He said he'll do it."
Rocket translated.
Groot stretched his arms down allowing Del to grab onto them and be pulled into the ship.

"Be careful Del."
Conner said as the ship took off towards Lucas.
"Alright, since you're here now stay with me and Elizabeth."

Steve turned to her and placed a hand firmly on her shoulder.
"Stay safe."
Elizabeth smiled.
"Before you say something cheesy keep in mind that we're in the middle of a battle here."

Conner said pulling out an arrow and loading it into his bow.
"Right, let's go."
Steve, Elizabeth, and Conner stood together as their enemies began closing in.

All of them holding onto the hope that Del would be able to succeed with her plan.

Jane watched the fight unfold in horror. How could she have allowed this to happen? She should have killed Lucas when she had the chance.

But it was too late now, countless men and women were losing their lives all because of a single man.

I have to do something, but I can't...

She noticed Starlord's spaceship flying towards Lucas, was he planning on attacking him?

He might have the best chance of weakening him.

But it would do no one any good if Lucas shot him out of the air.

Jane focused on creating a huge ball of fire in front of her, she waited until Lucas and the spaceship were all in the right place.

I don't know what good this will do, but at the most it will give them a chance to beat him.

Jane summoned all of her strength and threw the fire at Lucas. Not even checking to see if it hit Jane ran from the battle and disappeared into the trees.

"Well, that was unexpected."
Starlord commented as Lucas was suddenly hit with a huge fire ball.

Not as unexpected as Groot and Rocket jumping ship.

Del thought to herself.
All of the members of the Guardians, save Starlord, had already joined the battle.

Leaving her and Peter to deal with Lucas, and the sudden appearance of a large fireball knocking Lucas out of the air helped greatly.

Whoever you are thank you so much.

"Alright Del, you've only got one shot at this! Don't mess up and good luck!"

"Thanks."

Del waited for Starlord to get closer to Lucas; he opened a side-door in the ship and Del got her gun out, and aimed it at the falling and shouting form of Lucas.

One shot...
You only have one shot...

Del fired, and held her breath.

Conner saw Lucas get hit with a fire ball, saw the beam of green light that hit him next, and suddenly felt himself being charged with energy.

Oh yeah...
It's back!

"It's back! My speed is back!"
Steve and Elizabeth had no time to react as Conner raced off.

He couldn't believe that he had his speed again! He'd missed the feeling of running faster than, well, pretty much everything but light.

"Yeah baby!"
Conner shouted as he started taking out enemies faster than ever before.

As he ran he noticed a familiar figure hunched over on the ground.

Lucas.

Anthony had seen him go down, and now he was ready to end this thing once and for all.

Anthony ran towards him expecting an easy victory, only to be knocked backwards by a punch from Lucas.

"Do you think it will be that easy?"
Lucas shouted, furious that he had lost the powers he had gained.
"I still have my strength, and its enough to kill you!"

"We'll see."
Anthony stood poised and ready for Lucas to attack.
"You should have joined me when you had the chance Anthony."

The two flew at each other with a fury that could outmatch the Hulk.

Anthony slammed his fist into Lucas' jaw, sending his opponet stumbling backwards. Lucas snarled and ran towards Anthony, feinting left and managing to land a hard blow on Anthony's side.

Lucas grabbed Anthony by the arm and threw him onto the ground, Anthony's mind screamed for him to get up but his body was not responding.

Lucas stood over him, preparing to end Anthony's life once and for all.

Anthony struggled to get up, only to be forced down by Lucas placing a foot on his chest.

"You won't walk away this time."
Lucas hissed.
As Anthony fought to free himself something came flying at Lucas, knocking him over and allowing Anthony to get back on his feet.

Cam.

Lucas and Cam struggled on the ground, Cam was trying to make himself stronger than Lucas but found it impossible.

"Anthony!"
Maria shouted waving him over.
Before he could move Lucas threw Cameron into him, which sent both men onto the ground.

Anthony watched in horror as Lucas ignored them and headed straight for Maria.

Get away from her!

Cam struggled to get back onto his feet. He could see the fear in Maria's eyes as Lucas advanced on her.

She had her gun out and was firing at him, but the bullets did next to nothing in slowing him down.

He's going to kill her!

Cam finally pushed himself up and ran towards Lucas, knowing that he wouldn't be able to reach him in time.

Cam forced himself to go faster, and in one powerful leap he threw himself onto the ground, grabbing Lucas' legs and pulling him down with him.

"Run!"
He shouted desperately, not knowing whether she heard him or not.

"Do you think you're invincible Cameron? Do you think that nothing can harm you?"

Cam struggled to hold onto the struggling man as he tried to block out his voice.

"No one is safe Cameron, anyone can be killed, even you."
Cam heard a scream come from Maria as a bolt of electricity hit her from behind.

Cam's eyes widened in horror as he saw Nicole standing nearby, ready to send another bolt of electricity at her.

"No!"
Cam released Lucas immediately and ran towards Maria, who was being hit with everything Nicole had.

Cam got in front of her and quickly made himself shock proof. He thought Nicole would stop but she didn't.

The bolts of electricity kept coming.
Anthony was trying to reach Nicole but was being blocked by Lucas.

Cam felt himself growing weaker; his body couldn't take much more of this.

He glanced down at Maria, she was unconcious, but alive. Her forehead was bleeding and her skin had burn marks on it, but she was alive.

If he moved now, Nicole would kill her. Cam set his jaw and forced himself to stay put. Nicole continued to send out bolts of lightning at him, which only continued to grow stronger and stronger.

Cam felt himself growing weaker. Black dots danced at the edge of his vision as everything around him grew dark.

I'm sorry Maria, I can't hold out anymore.

The electricity burned into his skin, past the barrier he had put up around himself, and killing everything inside him.

Unspeakable pain coursed through his body, but he refused to scream, refused to give Lucas the satisfaction.

But he felt himself falling, and now nothing stood between Nicole and Maria.

Just before he collapsed he heard a faint cry of alarm from Nicole. But he would never know what had caused it.

He felt himself growing lighter and lighter as he fell onto the ground.

He was weightless, and he no longer felt any pain. He struggled to hold on, trying to think about Maria, and why he had to stay.

As hard as he tried he couldn't hold on, not this time. It had been too much.

Closing his eyes he allowed the blackness to take him, and he felt no more.

Nicole had been thrown onto her back and was now being held down by some unseen force.

Force? Del....

Her niece stood over her, her hand stretched out in front of her and tears in her eyes.

"Why did you do it? Why did you join Lucas?"
Her voice shook with grief and betrayal.
Nicole's heart was breaking, she had never wanted to hurt her.

"I had no choice Del! Lucas would have killed you if I didn't join him! I promised Tony that I would keep you safe!"

Del's expression grew cold as she glared at her aunt.
"You did have a choice. You always had a choice."

Del released Nicole and threw her back a few feet. As she stood up she could tell from the look in Del's eyes that she wanted her to leave.

And to never come back....

Nicole didn't stop the tears from falling down her face. She knew that what she had done was unforgivable.

She had killed Isabelle, and now she had killed Cameron.

What have I done?

Without another word towards Del Nicole ran, never looking back.

Anthony continued his struggle with Lucas. His strength was failing and he knew that it was only a matter of time before Lucas killed him.

Suddenly Lucas was lifted into the air, shouting and screaming curses as he became powerless to do anything.

Del had him, and she was not going to let him get away again.

"Call off your men Lucas. It's over, you lost."
Anthony glared at the man hovering above him.

Conner was suddenly at Del's side, he looked up at the enraged Lucas without the slightest hint at what he was thinking.

"Call them off!"
Anthony shouted.
Lucas still refused, and Anthony knew that there was only one way to end this.

He turned towards Conner and said,
"I need a gun."
Conner sped off and returned with a fully loaded gun.

Anthony grabbed it and aimed it at Lucas' chest. While Del held him Anthony shot.

Once, twice, until all the bullets had been used.

Conner's face turned pale, and Del's did the same as she lowered the now lifeless body onto the ground.

Around them Lucas' soldiers fled, only to be chased down by any hero still standing.

And as the three of them looked around them they saw countless bodies of enemies, friends, and heroes lying motionless on the ground.

One of those bodies was Cam's, and they had yet to discover who else had been killed.

Del collapsed onto her knees, allowing all of her emotions to finally surface.

Conner stood silently and still next to her. He had never seen so much death before.

There's Invisible Woman, Cyclops, Ward, Rocket, oh please no not Annette and Elizabeth!

Anthony said nothing, and his thoughts were silent as well. He had seen death before, it was nothing new to him.

But it was the reactions of the two kids in front of him that caused him to shed tears, that remained hidden behind his mask.

We may have won, but we also lost. We lost so much...
