Chapter 30

Anete Point of View

It was fun!

I thought pairing up couples would be boring but who would've thought that it was actually funny and entertaining.

There was this one man who had dated a few women but couldn't keep the relationship more than two or three months. His girlfriends always end up dumping him without giving him any reason.

The man looked good to look at, his career was stable and has enough properties to get a family not to mention his personality is alright. However, I didn't know why his girlfriends dumped him.

Turns out, the man was not clingy. Cacao told him that if you are holding sand in your grip too tightly, it will eventually flow away through the gap in fingers. There should be only enough grip on love for someone that will make you stay with you and love and shall not make then suffocated.

Cacao refused to pair him up with a girl because unless he gets a grip on his overbearing affection, he cannot love a person truly.

Cacao is a perfect example of a balanced love. He gives me freedom to do whatever I like and still hold my attention for himself effortlessly.

"What nonsense!" Bark snickered and took a sip of the drink from his bottle.

"What is nonsense?" Peach asked in a low voice, looking very much ready to have a fun gossip time.

"The one who was paired just now. The guy is historian and his job demands him to travel around the world but the girl who was paired up with him was a Youtuber. How can they live in harmony?" No wonder Bart did not understand the concept of matchmaking at all.

"For a Youtuber, creating new and attractive content is key part while a historian has to travel around the world to study and discover the deeper parts of the history. Historian is interested in studying, discovering and telling it to people. Youtuber is interested in making amazing content; aren't they just perfect?" I explained.

Bart looked like he want to puke right in the place he sat. One, because his brother's job makes him nauseous and two, the number of girls around is getting making him – scared and three, there are a few girls who are eyeing him with full pack of attention like wolves.

"Hey, Peach, do you think that girl over there, standing beside the placard; is she looking at me or you?" I asked seriously but the tease in my tone is not lost on her.

Peach immediately understood what I meant and glanced briefly at her second brother before turning to look at the girl beside placard.

"Beauty wise, she must look at you but if she is looking at me, then can be because of all the dark magic I'm trying to learn these days. That thing has power to attract attention." Peach replied slowly and deliberately.

I tapped my finger on my chin as if thinking about what she said and looked back at Bart, "What do you think? Who among us is she attracted to?" Clearly, Bart is uncomfortable with the attention coming from the unfamiliar third party who is of a female gender.

"You both are evil. No, all girls are evil." Bart huffed like a child and pulled out his phone to distract himself. "if I would've know we would be this close too all those scary girls, I would have never come. Peach, you actually tricked me."

I and Peach stifled our laughs and gave each other a wink of mirth.

"Bartlett! Bratlett Almond!" The three of us were startled by the sudden announcement of the name. We three looked at the source and found that Cacao was calling out for him from his judge seat.

"Bart, this young lady here says she wants to know you. What do you think?" Cacao actually asked him in mike which can be heard throughout the hall through speakers.

"Bart, I think this is true love. Even with Cacao here, the girl has eyes on you. If it is not true love then the only reason for choosing a rat like you is because she is on drugs or somebody is blackmailing her." Ah, love between siblings, you see!

Peach is not letting such a opportunity to get out of her hands I believe. But then again, as an onlooker, I am having the most fun.

Gosh, I never thought I had this side to me!

An organizer walked to us and handed a mike to Bart which Bart took hesitantly still firmly.

"Not interested." Bart is really too much. He cut off too smoothly and quickly without even thinking about the girl.

"May I know what type of girl you like Mr. Almond?" The girl asked gently with a smile. She looked extremely offended but still put on a smile.

"No." Without looking at her, with shifty eyes, Bart back at forth at Cacao and the air beside the lady who asked for his ideal type.

Poor him, he is even scared of looking at her!

But why is this so hilarious!

"Let's bet. If Bart runs away from fear, you will allow me to name your daughter." Peach wiggled her brow at me mischievously to which I gave her a considering grin.

"Done. If Bart successfully shoos her away with harsh words, then you will help me with something." She smirked at me challengingly and gave me a thumbs up, agreeing to it immediately.

Bart, I'm counting on you!

"What an enigmatic man. I really like you." The once offended girl now looks like she is obsessed with Bart.

But all he said was one simple 'No' which should've angered her even more.

"Women are scary." Ah, that should be the answer for her confession?

"Looks like I won." Anyhow, Bart brushed off the girl's confession so cold heartedly with such a simple sentence.

I knew I can still put my penny on him!

"Not yet. The girl did not back down yet." Peach said, poking me on my shoulder.

"Then are interested in men?"

"No." Bart's reply was clear with a lot of meaning between the lines. Just because he finds women scary doesn't mean he like men.

The girl did not still back down. Seeing that Bart is already sweating with the amount of female eyes on him, Cacao took matters in his own hands.

"It looks like Miss Smith likes tough and cold men. Not bad at all. However, my brother here is scared of women. I've been trying to make him comfortable around them but his determination is too solid." Just when Cacao made an attempt to diffuse the situation, Bart pushed the mike in the organizer's hand and covered his face with the pamphlet that was on the table.

Wait, he did not run away nor did he get out of the situation by himself by giving out few harsh words. In that case, among I and Peach, who won?

Peach must've had the same doubt running in her mind when she looked at me and shrugged sadly.

"How about we say both of us won and act on each other's bet?" Peach suggested to which I nodded.

I really need her help in something and it's alright if she wants to name my future daughter. I don't mind.

However, after the small sample of coldness Bart gave, I thought he would be clear of any possible admiration. Who would've thought that many girls still have their eyes on him?

The event was going smoothly and I was having lots of fun with Peach and Bart when something really unexpected happened.

Something that shook the ground beneath my feet!

"What a surprise! You are here to find a suitable partner too?" Cacao smiled widely as he looked down at the petite woman standing on the small participant platform.

She gave a wide smile as well and nodded her head. "Only if you are ready to be with me." She giggled.

Over my dead body!

"Who is this blowfish with malnutrition?" Peach wondered out.

"The fake Choco Drizzle." I answered as I held the table cloth tightly in my hand.

"Choco Drizzle? Cacao's pen friend who has been exchanging letters from six years?" Peach gasped and looked at the girl in awe.

"Fake Choco Drizzle. She is a fake one." I stressed. Bart and Peach looked at me, telling me silently that they are not believing me.

"You are jealous." Surprisingly, it was Bart who said this.

"As much as I am jealous, she is indeed a fake one." I exclaimed as a frown of desperation came on to my face.

"But if she was a fake one, how can my brother get fooled by her? She can't really be a fake one, you know."

"She is not Choco Drizzle. She can never be one. She is indeed fooling your brother." I gasped in annoyance.

"When you asked us to help you stop Cacao from meeting Choco Drizzle, we thought you were jealous which was actually so entertaining but how are you so sure that this girl is not Choco Drizzle? She has been my brother's pen friend for more than six years."

"She is a fake one because –" I breathed out loudly. Bart and Peach looked at me curiously, ready to hear what I have to say.

"Because I am the real Choco Drizzle." The shock on both the siblings faces cannot be measured.

" I was the one who has been writing letters to your brother for six years, nine months and twenty three days." I continued as I revealed the top secret of my life.

"WHAT?" Bart and Peach shouted loudly, almost shooting up from their seats.
