81: The Realization
"Alright, go ahead." She waved you in and you took off. You wanted to make sure that you didn't lose visual of them.
Unfortunately, Sangwoo was already gone and the stupid creature was cowering on the floor in front of you. You paused for a second and thought about the consequences of doing what you wanted to do.
I have to. You thought with a wicked smile.
"I hope you cower like this when I come to slaughter you." You whispered in his ear. You giggled as he cowered even harder. As you heard footsteps however, you ran backwards, towards your group. You weren't trying to be caught by Sangwoo in an isolated place.
And you wished you could have heard what happened after that, but you were too far away.
As you exited the haunted house, you encountered your date.
"How was it? Scary?" He asked, smelling of cigarette smoke. You crinkled your nose up; only Sangwoo could get away with that lurid smell. And only just barely.
"I-it was p-pretty t-t-tame." You admitted. "Y-you would h-h-have been f-f-fine."
"Of course I would have been fine! I told you, I just needed to smoke. Well, it's getting pretty late. Anywhere else you want to go?" He asked.
No. You thought. I hate this guy. But you wanted to give one last go at upsetting Sangwoo, especially since you weren't going to follow him in the same disguise after this. You had gotten your own car and had yet another costume change within it that way you could go to another date at another place to keep following Sangwoo.
"I think I just saw one of my childhood friends actually! Do you mind if I wave to him? He just got on the roller-coaster." You asked.
"Of course you can. Do you have time for dinner after that?" He kept pushing as you both walked closer to the edge of the ride.
"A-a-another d-day?" You were uncomfortable turning him down.
"Oh..." He shifted uncomfortably. "Did you have fun today?"
"Y-yes!" You smiled and gave him a side hug. And that's when you caught Sangwoo's eyes. And you waved.
If you could have developed super-sonic hearing at that moment, you would have because what happened next was amazing.
Sangwoo turned to Yoon Bum and said something to him.
"Yeah, you're right. Don't trust me."
That's what he said.
"It'll only hurt you... Over and over..."
But no one heard him. Not you. Not even Yoon Bum. Perhaps not even God themself.
And yet you saw him take the picture out of his pocket, hold it up in the air and then finally, he let it go.
I have to have her. By any means necessary. He thought to himself as he sat quietly on the roller-coaster. I feel sick. I feel physically ill. Some filth has his hands on my wife right now.
That's my wife.
That's my wife.
That's my wife.
And the thought wouldn't leave. And he didn't want it to leave. But now he realized that it wasn't him who needed convincing to come back together. It was going to be you who needed it.
