A/N: Hey guys! I was wondering if you'd want me to write a chapter more about a certain character's thoughts and what goes on in their head. Leave a comment on who you want to know more about, or on where you'd like the story to go. Either way, thank you for reading, and enjoy this part!

Back inside the building, Cal didn't talk to Emerson. Instead, he barreled down the halls. Emerson had to run to catch up.

"Cal! Cal, wait please?" She panted, jogging over to him.

"We are late. And the more time you spend talking, makes us more late, which makes me look bad, which means I'll be having to spend more time with you!" he rambled, not slowing.

"I'm sorry Cal," she said yet again.

"So you keep saying," he muttered, grabbing her hand as he walked through another wall.

"Would you please stop for a second and listen to me?" She shouted, yanking on his sleeve.

Cal rubbed his temples, "I don't have time for this."

"Fine--just forget it," she whispered, walking in front of him. Cursing herself for even considering opening up top him.

Cal let out a long exaggerated sigh, "Emerson wait."

She turned around expectantly.

"We're already late, and I'm already in trouble. So whether we're a few minutes more late or not, doesn't matter. It's not going to change anything. So just talk," he mumbled, sitting down on a little outcrop.

It was a man-made seat. The whole facility was carves underground, and had some plexiglass like see-through casing over top of it. However, there was a little stream flowing under this section that lead to an opening to a waterfall. The sunlight stretched through, and Emerson noticed that Cal's eyes were two different colors. The sun reflected into his right eye making it blue, and the left, in the shadow, was dark brown.

"Your eyes," Emerson whispered, leaning closer squinting her eyes.

Cal turned a little red and turned away, "Yeah? What about them?"

"They're two different colors," she said leaning over to peer into them again.

"No they aren't," he mumbled, slightly annoyed as he moved his head away from her again.

"What do you mean? They're blue and brown," she said.

"Would you stop staring at me like I'm some lab specimen?" He asked hotly.

Emerson sat back, "Sorry."

"It's fine, I'm just not used to people noticing--that," he hesitated.

"So how are they two colors but only one?" She asked.

He looked away embarrassed.

"If I tell you will you consider burning your contacts?" He asked, eyeing her.

"Um," she trailed off.

"Never mind. I was just born this way. It's all an illusion. Basically, my eyes are naturally brown, but when the light hits them they change to this weird blue color. It's---" he sighed. "kind of like those butterflies with the vibrant blue wings, but when you shin a light from behind the wing you realize it's actually brown."

"You have butterfly eyes, huh," Emerson nodded to herself.

"I do not have butterfly eyes," he huffed looking annoyed.

"You kinda do," Emerson laughed, nudging him with her shoulder.

He tried to glare at her, but he shook his head with an eyeroll.

"I guess they kind of are like butterfly eyes," he mumbled.

They both glanced back over at each other, and smiled.

"Mr. Harker!" A voice demanding respect and attention shouted.

Cal immediately stood up, he was stiff and straight as a board.

"Commander Melot!" He said, keeping his voice even; serious. He had his fingers in salute.

"Have you forgotten your very strict self-explanatory orders?" He demanded, shouting.

"No Sir!" Cal said, not flinching as the man drew nearer to him.

"It's not his fault. It's mine, I needed--"

Cal shot her a glare, silencing her.

"Interrupting a conversation is very rude Young Lady!" Commander Melot scolded. He had a scar through his cold blue eyes. His brown hair was cut closely to his skull like a drill Sergent.

"I would hardly call this a conversation, nonetheless a civil one," Emerson spat out, crossing her arms over her chest.

"You are in no position to chastise me! Harker, keep your prisoner under control! Grow a spine and don't let some doe-eyed girl dictate your life, and God (Insert colorful words) follow orders!" Commander Melot demanded sternly. "I do not have time to teach you how to behave when people's lives are at stake!"

"Won't happen again, Commander," Cal said, a look of steel in his eyes.

"It better not," the man seethed. "The board is waiting--patiently."

And with that, the burly man stalked out of the room.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" Emerson joked.

"You heard him, we need to go," Cal ordered, his voice strict and monotone; empty of emotion.

"You seriously are just going to do what he says?" Emerson asked astonished.

"Believe what you want, but he's the reason kids aren't getting killed on the streets! Unlike you, not everyone grew up in a happy rich family," he said, an undertone of malice in his voice.

"You don't even know me, much less my family. Not everyone's life is as black and white as you think, and I know that better than anyone. So don't you accuse me of thinking that I'm the only person that exists in the world and that I feel as though I'm entitled to everything! I just think that that guy---"

"That guy is the reason you're still standing here! So just do the world a favor and shut up! We have word to do, and the board needs to see you right now, and I just can't deal with you right now. Don't you get that?" Cal whispered the question.

Emerson didn't answer, and Cal went to grab her hand. She instinctively pulled back. He rolled his eyes and grabbed her elbow, yanking her threw the wall.

"Ow!" She seethed through gritted teeth.

"Just be civil! Please?" He asked, sending her a look that made her feel like a little girl.

"Mr. Harker, you're late," Someone said blatantly.

"She's all yours," he mumbled.

"Not going to explain yourself?" The tall woman asked. Her hair was a light pink and her eyes a rich brown.

"Miss. Paige can. Free to leave?" He asked.

"As you wish. Oh, and Mr. Harker?" She called after him.

"Yes Silena?" He asked, gritting his teeth.

"Next time, don't be late," she said, glaring at him.

"My apologies Lady Silena," he muttered, bowing after a guard slapped him upside the head.

Emerson stifled a laugh.

"Oh, and Mr. Harker, one more thing?" She said, this time practically glowing as she smiled down at the boy.

"Whatever might it be Silena?" He inquired, annoyed, through gritted teeth as he gave her a fake smile.

"Your request for dropping Miss. Paige as your project has been denied. You may leave," she said with a smile.

Cal sent a spine-chilling glare at Silena as his face turned red; out of rage or embarrassment Emerson had yet to find out. He stalked out of the room, his head raised in defiance.

"Now, about the girl..." Silena started talking, directing everyone's attention to Emerson.
