3 Stormy Feelings

POV 3rd person

Elsa was looking at files of a patient called King Charming, an elderly man who had arrived to have his heart treated. He had some problems in his left coronary artery. In the beginning part was 30% narrowing due to bad living habits and age. The main problem were the other two locations where the path had narrowed down 60% and 75% which was too risky for him to continue living with.

"So as you can see we need to perform the balloon angioplasty in here too so the risk for another heart attack will decrease," Dr. Regina Queen explained while showing Elsa the pictures that they had from the previous operation.

"I see and on the right coronary artery you've placed two stents couple weeks ago when King Charming came here first time," Elsa spoke and showed the locations from the picture.

"Yes that's correct. You're going to be a great heart surgeon once you finish your specialization," Dr. Queen added.

Elsa blushed when the greatest heart surgeon in the whole St. Burgess hospital complimented her. Being a heart surgeon was something that Elsa had always dreamed about. This would be her first time assisting Dr. Regina while she's doing an operation to someone.

In King Charming's case there had been a narrowed path in his lower section of marginal artery on the left side of his heart. It had also caused some damage on the vein and due to that a clot had totally blocked the blood circulation from the vein. And without blood that small part of his heart's right side didn't get oxygen and he got a painful heart attack. Even though Dr. Queen had opened up the veins on the right side the damage had already happened - in Mr. Charming's right side of his heart was now a tiny part which was gangrene, that part would never function again but would get scar tissue over it. Gladly the right side of the heart is in charge of the easier parts of blood circulation – bringing the used oxygen back to the heart from the body and then transporting it to lungs for an oxygen refill.

"Ah, this is bad," Dr. Queen sighed and glanced at the clock on the wall.

Elsa nodded, it had been about one hour now since the late summer storm had cut off the power of the hospital. It was running on emergency power now since the fuse box had apparently fried in the basement. The surgery was scheduled for two hours from now.

"I could go to see how the repair work is going?" Elsa wondered aloud.

"That's a good idea so we can figure out if the operation needs to be rescheduled," Dr. Queen agreed.

The emergency power was meant to patient's life supports and to those surgeries that were on going before power shortage. Any new surgeries couldn't be started before the power was back on.

"Alright, I'll go and check. I will sent you a message once I hear something," Elsa nodded and headed out from Dr. Queens office.

Elsa's high heels were clopping on the corridor. People were asked to sit where they were and only nurses were taking people to places and trying to see that everyone was doing alright.

"Elsa! The power is still off!" Rapunzel came to Elsa and was clearly worried.

"I know, I'm trying to see how things are with the repair work so we know if we can operate the heart patient," Elsa exclaimed and crossed her arms over her chest anxiously.

The dim lights were giving at least some light to the corridor but it still wasn't enough. They desperately needed power.

"Mh... the ambulance units are asked to take patients to nearby hospitals until the repairs are done. This is bad," Rapunzel sighed and tried to keep up with Elsa.

"Aren't you on a break?" Elsa asked from her cousin.

"Ugh, how could I have a break in this situation? And there's a storm outside! It was clear and sunny yesterday and now I swear that if I stick my head out from the door I could get hit with flying house or something," Rapunzel groaned.

"Houses don't fly and it's not a tornado," Elsa laughed a bit and Rapunzel smiled slightly and brushed her brown hair behind her ear.

When they arrived to the stairs leading to basement where the problem was Rapunzel had to leave. She was needed in the ER after all. They wished each other good luck with the day and Elsa went through the maintenance door. She kept wishing that this day would soon be over and a slight sting of jealousy hit her when she thought how Anna would be at her home with her husband, on couch cozily and eating chocolates. There was no point to keep the sandwich stand open in stormy weather since who would want a soggy sandwich?

The air was pressing in the basement and there was a lot of heat there since the emergency generator was getting heated up while giving power to whole building. She unbuttoned her white doctors jacket and looked around. Somewhere in the huge basement was the repairman. Then she saw some light from flashlight and how a shirtless man was fixing up the fuse box and whistling a tone.

"Excuse me," Elsa exclaimed and got closer and narrowed her eyes to see better while she got closer.

Then she heard cursing and how the man hissed an "Ouch."

She stood still when he turned around and just stared at him. Slowly Jack wiped some sweat from his forehead with a rag that he pulled out from his pants which were hanging low on his waist thanks to the tool belt that was pressing them down and they were a bit too big to him anyway.

"Yeah?" Jack asked and didn't notice how he had some dirt stains on his face.

He was a slender looking guy but underneath his shirt he had kept his muscles hidden. He had thrown his shirt next to his toolbox which was next to Elsa's feet.

POV Jack

I didn't expect anyone come down to here in the basement but here she is, the grumpiest person of whole hospital. And she's clearly glancing at my abdomen and how do I wish to know what she's thinking.

A slight smirk unintentionally spread to my face, "Liking what you're seeing?"

Dr. Redel startled to my question and seemed like she didn't know what to do with her hands now. I laugh slightly when she first tried to put them inside her pockets and then behind her back but she changed her mind and touched her chin with her left hand before crossing her arms over her chest and settling with that.

"No," Dr. Redel muttered and looked away.

"Aww, that's mean," I groaned playfully and I turn around to continue my work with the fuse box.

"Mean? YOU, what are YOU even doing here?" Dr. Redel snapped and I heard annoying tapping sound when she was anxiously tapping the floor with her foot. And she had those high heels on, ugh.

"Fixing the fuse box as you can see," I replied sarcastically and pointed the flashlight inside the box. I had just managed to get the lit off.

"But where's the FIXER we have a surgery planned and you're without a shirt--," Dr Redel complained.

"Shirtless? Well did you notice how this place is like a furnace – I'm sweating like a pig . And when it comes to the fixer, he is stuck in the storm apparently so I decided to see what I can do... " I mumbled a response and I grinned to myself as I reached towards a cable behind other cables.

My body began to twitch and shake and I made groans and shouted like I was in being.

"IDIOT!" Dr. Redel yelled and ran to me when I fell on the ground.

And as a cherry on top I finished my performance with some drool rolling down from the corner of my mouth. She thought that I was electrocuted. Hah.

I feel how she turns my body and does a quick check up before grabbing a hold of my chin.

Gosh, is she going to?

I frown after opening up my eyes and covering her mouth with my hand before her lips would've touched mine.

"Wow, don't mix your saliva with mine," I mumbled and she threw my hand aside and glared at me.

"Did you think that it was FUNNY? YOU ARE CRAZY AND WASTING BOTH OF OUR TIMES!" She yelled and lectured me as I sat up.

I shrugged, "I was bored and tired but now that got me some more energy back.By the way... was I convincing? I am in acting club and we were told to practice," I hummed as I returned to continue with the fuse box. I wiped my drool to the back of my hand on the way.

"Shut up," Dr. Redel hissed, "—so can you fix it? Probably not."

"I can... there's a burned up cable. I already went to the roof to pull out the branch that caused this to burn," I told her, "—but I need to get this from the way first."

I knocked at the plastic cover which was on that bunch of cables.

"Then work faster to change it," Dr. Redel snapped and now my own personal fuse box was getting overheated.

"Doing my best here bossy lady--," I replied sarcastically and I glance over my shoulder and I smirk mischievously, "—give me that screw driver from the tool box."

I pointed at the star ended screw driver which she went to pick up. She gave it to my hand and then she took the flashlight and pointed it inside the fuse box.

"Oh, you decided to help...how wonderful," I hummed and began to remove the plastic cover which was clear.

"Don't push your luck," Dr. Redel told me and I chuckled a bit.

"Interesting to see that you're a leftie," I wondered and she seemed to get irritated.

"Yes I am, so what?" Dr. Redel sighed and kept holding the flashlight with her left hand.

"I've heard that some believe that witches are left handed," I said casually and I noticed how the light in her hand shook a bit.

"T-that's a myth!" She told me.

"Mmh... can you just keep the light straight – ouch!"

My fingers got a new scratch from the fuse box's metal sides. Dr. Redel saw that and I heard her making a frustrated growl..or sigh? Can't tell which for sure.

"Hah, done," I cheered as I lifted the cover off.

I smelled some electricity and I glance at Dr. Redel. She's standing way too close.

"Woops!" I exclaimed as I pushed her away from me and then I quickly grabbed to the damaged cable and pulled it out.

And it hurt like crazy when I got a spark from the cable but she didn't manage how my body twitched once when the electricity went through my body. Quickly I wiped the blood stain from under my nose before giving my hand to Dr. Redel who was throwing insults to me – I had sent her down on her butt to the ground when I pushed her.

"Sorry?" I apologized.

"Please tell me that you have a new cable?" She said grumpily and nodded towards the cable which was damaged and still on my hand. I pulled her up once she took my hand.

"Ah, yeah I have and I when it's in the power will return probably to the --," I hummed and ruffled my hair.

"Good, then do it... I need to go and prep the surgery," she told me and gave me the flashlight before leaving. I finished fixing up the fuse box and I called the fixer that he isn't needed any longer.

The power had returned to the hospital again and then I heard my phone beeping. I just received a text.

'Hey cold boy. Home when?'

'Three hours left babe.' I typed back and immediately received another one which made me sigh.

'I'll rub your neck. Selfie? Pls?'

I took a picture of myself shirtless and received many drooling emojis.

'I want you...today... Pls? WHERES YOUR RING?'

'Marriage first... Can't wear it while working and you know it?'

'Ok. Your miss ; ) .'

I turned red when I received a text where he was wearing panties and bras.

'WORKING!'

I wrote back and put the phone away. Quickly I pulled my shirt back on and grabbed the tool box. I turned the lights off when I rushed back upstairs.

POV Elsa

"Elsa? Are you focusing?" Dr. Queen asked from me when I was deep in my thoughts.

"O-oh, yes I am," I told her and I turn my head to look at the screen where I can see how the tiny tube is moving forward in King Charming's veins. It just passed his shoulder and was getting closer to the heart.

"Good so as you can see it's reaching the heart about now. First we will need to fill up the vein with contrast agent so we can see the vein on the screen and continue the operation," Dr. Queen explained to me and I nodded.

"I'll do the first vein and place the stent and you'll do the next one if it's fine with you?" Dr. Queen asked and I felt enthusiasm.

"Yes! Sounds good," I replied to her. I was doing my practice in the hospital, my specialization studies had gone to this point and I'm grateful that I can do my specialization and work as a doctor same time.

Dr. Queen did the 75% narrowed vein herself leaving the easier 60% to me. After she had forced the vein to spread back to its place with the contrast agent she pulled the tube out.

"Now I'll enter again to the vein with another tube. It has a tube looking net over it called stent and once it's in I'll inject more contrast agent liquid and it'll spread and attach to the walls of the vein and support it," Dr. Queen said and started to take the tube into Mr Charmings vein through his right hands artery.

"Well it certainly doesn't feel much, it mainly tickles," Mr Charming hummed.

"Stay still," Dr. Queen told him and took the stent to its place.

Then it was my turn to perform the operation. First I spread the vein like she showed me and then I pulled the tube out and took the one with stent there next.

"And we're all done! So Dr. Redel, can you tell us why we needed to do the left coronary artery now and couldn't do it couple weeks ago?" Dr. Queen asked from me as I tied up the wound in Mr Charmings wrist area. We kept a tightening band on it because otherwise he could bleed too much from the direct artery wound.

"Too much contrast agent liquid might cause your kidneys to fail Mr Charming so that's why we can only do this much at a time. Gladly you didn't have more coronary arteries to treat because then we would've needed bigger surgery," I explained and the man nodded.

"Well done. I think that you'll be a great heart surgeon one day. Thank you for letting Dr. Redel to practice Mr Charming. Now nurses will prepare you to go back to heart surveillance unit. After a day you'll get to the regular ward and you need plenty of rest now. But I guess your son and his family can visit you briefly" Dr. Queen spoke to Mr. Charming.

In the operation we added 7cm (about under 3inches) of stent in his veins.

I went ahead to get the surgical suit off and to wash my hands. Again my mind drifted to elsewhere. I accidentally froze the water but I quickly unfroze it.

"I can see that you're getting anxious Dr. Redel, your power could be a bit dangerous while working in medicine. It would be bad if some patients blood would freeze," Dr. Queen spoke as she had come next to me to wash her hands.

"Ah, yes... I just... " I hummed and frowned as I grabbed a hand towel.

"Well? What's troubling your mind? I would hate to tell this to head doctor Burgess," Dr. Queen sighed and took the mouth cover from over her mouth.

"Someone said that left handed are witches... I hate the term –witch-," I mumbled and felt embarrassed over it.

"Haha, next time imagine that person naked – it makes it much easier to bare," Dr. Queen laughed and I gasped when she pushed her hand inside my chest and I felt her fingers around my heart, "—it truly does."

She pulled her hand away and I breathed in and out to calm down.

"You're no more a witch than I am," Dr. Queen smiled.

"H-how imagining them naked helps at all? It's just that some people called me a witch when my powers were discovered," I shivered and blush spread on my face when I tried to keep my mind from imagining the janitor naked. Since he was half naked without shirt anyway so there wasn't much left to my imagination.

"Hmm... but Doctor Burgess wants people with special talents to work in this hospital so there's not much to worry about and sometimes the powers might be needed with patients even though we can't exactly advertise these talents because of haters," Dr. Queen sighed.

She knew it better than anyone how it felt to be hated and how experiences in life can change you – many times.

"Thank you," I told her and smiled a bit and she smiled and seemed a bit tired.

"Yes, well I will go home now. Henry wants some spaghetti today," she told me.

"Have a nice free evening!" I cheered when she was leaving.

A/N:

Funny fact: Ah so lefties, they have all kinds of superstitions around them like them being witched. Elsa in Frozen was left handed which was really cool! I mean... she was called as a monster etc.

Funny fact part 2: My baby Elsa seems to be leftie XD (her dad is a leftie and my little sister is one too)

How did you like the chapter?

And about this chapter. It is from real life.

My own dad had to go to hospital a week ago. He had a heart attack and this is how it went, well, they still haven't operated the left side (which I wrote in here using his right sides surgery info) but they operated the right side and did that balloon operation and put in some stents. And when it comes to my dad he is on sick leave for 2months and there's risk for another heart attack until they operate the left side too but he needs to recover a bit first. So yeah, I spent a lot of time with him in hospital last week – he got home on Friday.

Just embrace your loved ones, you never know when they're gone!

And happier things! I saw Frozen on ice show last weekend. And today my baby Elsa's dress came in mail! Yay! She will be 1 year old next week on 25th. Surprisingly her dress is light blue (not baby blue... goes more to turquoise).
