Backstory: Hope was supposed to be born to a pair of Lopunny, excited to have their first child. But, one day, her egg was hurt, kicked against a tree and cracked slightly. After learning about what this had changed about Hope, her parents felt the couldn't raise their child. They abandoned Hope's egg, her mother only leaving behind a letter that she couldn't even read. Hope lived in constant fear of her peers, who were always bullying her for her "freakish" appearance. But Hope never gave up, and pressed on, in case something would change. And then, one day, as Hope was being bullied, Rusty saw and scared the aggressors off. Hope made friends with Jasmine and Rusty, with Jasmine naming her 'Hope' after her feat of courage and faith in living through her awful conditions.
