Squiddy stepped through the portal, waving goodbye to his family members. Rainbow called, "Stay safe and make sure the 3 Ancient Birds don't attack again!"

"Yup, Momma!" Squiddy winked and disappeared. He blinked and saw the Octo School in front of him. The sky was cloudless and blue. 

"Hello Squiddy!" he felt two tentacles on his head. He whirled around and saw Sparkzy and Echo. 

Squiddy said hello to them, and they entered the school. "Sparkzy, what classes do you have today?"

"I have Gym Battling, Math, Swimming Training, and Writing." Sparkzy replied. 

"We have Gym Battling, Reading, Music, French and Science." Naturesong told him. 

"Looking forwards to Gym Battling! I can learn a lot from you two!" the young Octo's eyes lit up.

Just then, In front of the school doors, a purple cat suddenly appeared out of thin air. Not like Eagleimus's or Wilddragon's, which released mist, but literally, out of thin air. The cat morphed into a girl with black hair and a circlet with a shard of Amethyst, a token of a cat in loaf position, a T-shirt, pants and shoes with some eyes and tech designs on them, and a purple tail flicking to and fro. She called out, "Guys! School is open! By the way, my name is Catimus, the goddess of Psychic and Tech!" she pushed open the doors, and the Octos spilled in, recieving high-fives from Catimus as they passed her. 

Squiddy magicked out his water bottle. "Come on, Sparkzy and Echo! Let's go to the Gym!" the rushed towards the gym. 

Wilddragon was already in the gym, sitting on the judge's seat, writing some words down on a clipboard. She looked up as they arrived. "Hello Echo, Sparkzy Squiddy! Ready to do some Double Battles today?"

"Double Battles? You mean, 2 Octos on one team VS another team which also has 2 Octos in it?" Echo said curiously.

"Yup!" Wilddragon nodded enthusiastically. "You two will be a team. Sparkzy, I'll pair you up with another Octo! Well, you get it, Fire and Water, not a good match. Also, Fire and Nature, still not a good match."

"Thank you Wilddragon!" the Octos cheered loudly. They sat down and waited for the other Octos in their class to appear.

When Wilddragon had marked attendances, she assigned the different Octos with another Octo. Sparkzy was paired up with a lightning-type Octo named Lightbolt. Then, Wilddragon started the class. "Squiddy and Echo up against Flare and Marine!" she shouted. The 4 Octos got into position.

"3! 2! 1! GO!" Wilddragon held her hand in the air and shot it down fast.

Squiddy transformed into Typhoonbringer and Echo transformed into Naturesong. "My name is Typhoonbringer, and you can call me Typh!" Typh shouted. "My name is Naturesong, and you can call me Nature!" Naturesong added.

"Well, my name is Blitzspark, and you can call me Blitz!" the Octo that used to be Flare yelled. He was holding a spear made of fire. "My name is Raindrop, and you can call me Rain!" the other Octo chimed in, gripping a neon-blue Scythe in one hand. "Dancing Embers!" Blitz pointed at them, and a spiral of orange flames whirled towards them. "Wave Clash!" Rain slashed her scythe at them, and sent a huge wave rushing towards them.

"HA!" Typh jumped in front of Nature, and slashed away the fire. He jumped aside and Nature shot an arrow at the wave, which shattered like glass when the arrow hit. 

"My turn! Water Vortex!" Typh thrust out his weapon and emitted out the beam of water that knocked the fire spear out of Blitz's tentacles.

"Hey!" he rushed to pick it back up. 

"Water Cage!" Typh shouted, waving his trident in the air. Immediately a water cage appeared around Blitz before he could reach his sword. He cried with annoyance as he tried reaching through the gaps of the cage. 

"Leaf Tornado!" Naturesong shot an arrow at Rain. The arrow transformed into a gigantic tornado made of leaves. "Swallow 'em up!" she yelled as the spiral of circling winds homed in on Rain.

"No!" Rain tried running and slicing her scythe through it. It didn't work. She tried to run, but it was too late. The tornado surrounded her quickly and lifted her off her feet, feet going over head as she spiralled around in the air. She screamed.

"Rain!" Blitz screamed. "I'm coming for you after I break free of this silly cage!" 

"Nuh-uh." Naturesong snorted. "Vine Wrap!" she raised her bow and shot an arrow again. This time, the arrow turned into magical vines that wrapped around the cages, strengthening them. Blitz shot fire beams at the bars of the cage, but it didn't seem to work. The fire bounced off harmlessly off the bars. Blitz snarled in frustration and aimed at the same spot over and over again. 

"Hah!" Typh thrust his trident and shot a high pressured beam of water that blasted Rain out of the tornado and outside the ring. Rain let out a squeak as she landed outside the line. 

"No! Rain!" Blitz yelled. 

"And, this." Typh moved the water cage outside of the ring and willed the cage to disappear. The vines and a very surprised Octo crumpled onto the floor. "Sorry, by the way." 

"NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!" Blitz screamed, hammering on the floor. "I REFUSE TO GIVE UP!!!!"

"I'm sorry, Blitz, but you... lost." Wilddragon whispered. She snapped her hands and golden powder swirled around him. He eventually stopped pounding on the floor, sighing.

"I'm sorry Wilddragon for disappointing you... I won't do it again." he dipped his head, and Rain rushed over to him. 

Typh transformed back into Squiddy and Naturesong transformed into Echo. That was when Squiddy thought of a plan.

Squiddy trudged along the path in Wilddragon's Token. He had thought of a goal: to become the king of the strongest team: Champion Team. He puffed up his chest, and thought: I have to train harder! He knew that it was going to be hard.

He sang a song: "I feel the power of the ocean, connecting to the deepest part me, Battling underwater motion, suddenly it's all throughout the sea, it's a rush of wonder~ I can fight, swimming deep down under~"

The song cheered him up, and he skipped all the way to his suite, still singing. "I feel a wave of transformation, I'm stronger as I dive into the blue, Battling, your inspiration, the power of the seas inside of you, now the Battle Nations~ cause for me, like a mystical potion~" 

"Wow, Squiddy, you're happy today!" Ivory flew over to him. 

"Yup!" he said happily. Then he told her his plan.

"Well... you have to train really hard to beat the queen and king of Champion Team." Ivory shook her head solemnly. 

"I WILL DO IT!" Squiddy screamed, permanent determination filling his gaze.
