Author's note: Here you go, fellow reader! I decided on gender-neutral,so you can choose in what type of pov you would like to read this in. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for requesting!

The first time Sang-woo noticed you was when everyone woke up. The confused fear on everyone's face was there but not on yours. You were cheery.

Why in the world were you so happy? Sang-woo didn't understand that. You were probably, no, and you were the only person here who had an aura of happiness and excitement.

In the situation everyone was in, happiness was something only a dream held. Every single player was filled with fear and anxiety. That didn't phase you, and immediately Sang-woo noticed this. Perhaps you were on something that made your brain mess with your emotions. Although he instantly disregarded that thought.

If you all woke up in an enormous room filled with bunk beds, dressed in teal tracksuits and no clue how you got there, how would you be able to take substances anyway? He watched you as you approached an elderly man who was talking to who he noticed was Gi-hun.

"Hello sir and..." You trail off waiting for the other man, with the number 456 to give you his name. "Gi-hun," He gives you a nod accompanied with a small smile, which you more than happily return.

"I'm Y/n...this is strange right? We end up taking a lift, and before we know it, here we are," You give an exaggerated look around the room.

"Hold on. Where was I just then?" The elderly man cuts in, seeming confused and slightly annoyed. You turn to Gi-hun with a questioning gaze.

"He is counting everyone in the room," He replies. Your mouth forms an 'O' shape, understanding what he is doing.

"Up on that board, sir. There is 456 here." Gi-hun informs the man, who clears his throat. "Oh. Look, you were given the number 1 and Y/n, you have the number 7. And I'm..Oh. I'm the last," Gi-hun looks at his number. The elderly man chuckles, which you can't help but smile.

"I know that. I'm just counting the numbers. My doctor said counting is good, so I don't get dementia or anything-" Before he can continue, you immediately throw your arms softly around him.

"You can't die, sir. I just met you. We were supposed to talk about our families and how we plan to have a get together with Gi-hun. Not only that, then you get to the doctor, and he heals you completely, and then we can run around, and you can become my friendly best elderly friend."

Sang-woo, who is leaning against a nearby bed, laughs softly at your rambling, fixing his glasses. You sure were an interesting person.

...

The second time, Sang-woo ended up speaking to you. This time you were no more in that disorienting room, and now you were with Sang-woo, talking about how you ended up playing Red light, green light.

"What made you end up here..in debt. You don't have to answer, but you don't look like someone who would be here...?" You trail off, asking the man beside you, while Ali was on the phone calling someone. Sang-woo looks down, not sure if he should answer, although he does anyway.

"I took money from some people...and I need to pay them back," Sang-woo gives a vague answer. You noticed this but decided not to push. "You?" A shrug is your response.

"I ended up investing in a Ponzi scheme and lost billions of won, and people that trusted me filed lawsuits," Sang-woo adjusts his glasses. He understood why he was being chased by the law and how he was wrong, but you? Once he heard your reason, it frustrated to no end.

"Did you know it was a Ponzi scheme?" You shake your head, making Sang-woo's shoulder's tense up. You didn't know what you were investing, yet people dared to file lawsuits against you. If anything, you are entirely innocent! It doesn't matter if he just met you. Sang-woo just had a slight feeling of annoyance.

Your attention was dragged to the stiffness of Sang-woo.

"You seem tense there. Are you okay?" Sang-woo relaxes momentarily and sighs. "It's fine, I'm...fine," He sends you a genuine smile. You nod your head slowly, not sure whether to believe him.

"If anything I wish I could run away, leave all my problems here.." Sang-woo trails off staring off into the distance. "Could I join?" You cut in.

"I don't see why not. We could be those people that travel constantly?" He raises an amused eyebrow.

"Yes! And own a dog or a cat...for some reason you seem like a cat person," You rub your chin thoughtfully. Sang-woo raises his eyebrows at your assumption and your immediate change of topic. "I 'seem like a cat person'?" You nod, he did remind you of a kitten in a way. He was a rational and intelligent person in a lovable sort of way.

"Well, you seem more like a dog person.." Sang-woo smirks at you. This causes you to nod confidently. "I don't mind that," Unexpectedly, he ruffles your hair.

"Of course you don't,"

"But if we were to run away, we need to have enough money for food..." On cue, your stomachs rumble, a cheeky smile adorns your face and Sang-woo explodes in laughter.

"I'll get us something to eat," He gives you a tiny smile. A thumbs-up is what you send him, causing him to do the same.

You beam at this, giving him a kind smile. Instinctively, Sang-woo returns your smile, something he wasn't used to doing, and your happiness was contagious.

"Make sure to get me something you would recommend," You call out to him. You felt at ease around Sang-woo, and he did too.

...

The third time, you and Sang-woo were standing with other players in a decorated room like a playground. There were four different shapes on the wall, and a circle, triangle, star and umbrella. Straightaway, Sang-woo knew what game they were going to play.

For some reason, Sang-woo searched for you. He sighed in relief when he saw you. You came back. You seemed different than your usual happy self, confusion clouded your face, but when you saw Sang-woo approach you, your cheery self came back. He felt good, knowing he could bring you joy, the same joy that you brought him.

"Y/n, let's stand in line together?" He asked you politely, sending you a small smile. You nod your head instantly. Who were you to deny his friendly request? Following his lead, you stood in the line at the triangle shape.

When they told you the rules, you were grateful that Sang-woo suggested this shape. If he came a moment too late, you would have chosen the star.

He finished cutting his shape out first, and then you were done right after. When Sang-woo saw you enter through the door to the large bedroom, safe and sound, he sped walked up to you and engulfed you into a bear hug.

"Oh, thank goodness," He took a deep breath. You snicker at his cheery tone, which was new to you, but you were glad he was happy that you made it.

"Thanks to you, I'm here," You widen your eyes at him obnoxiously, gaining a hand ruffling your hair. You narrow your eyes playfully at him. "Do you know how hard is it to make my hair presentable, and here you are...messing it up," You fix your hair, not noticing the amused chuckle and head shake Sang-woo aims at you.

"You are something else,"

...

The fourth time you and Sang-woo were together in a bare white room. The colour of your tracksuits and the outfits of the guards was the only thing that stood out. You had to find a partner for a game called Marbles

You overheard Ali ask Sang-woo to be partners, although Sang-woo's eyes caught yours. He wanted to be partners with you, but you shook your head, motioning that he should be with Ali. Since it would be rude to reject that offer and Ali asked him before you anyway. He sighed dejectedly and agreed to be Ali's partner.

You ended up being partners with a woman you didn't know the name of. Before you went with your partner into the room, a grip around your arm stopped you. It was Sang-woo.

"Be careful out there, Y/n," He smiles at you, ruffling your hair once again.

You gave him a toothy smile. "I'm always careful," A chuckle escapes your lips, but Sang-woo's voice cuts you off.

"I'm serious, Y/n," You purse your lips at his unexpected serious tone. Nodding after a second, he sighs. This time you gave him a hug, which he reciprocated. "I'll see you after, okay?" Sang-woo nods, watching you enter through the doors towards the game, sending him a huge wave and your signature grin.

That was the last time he saw you.
