Three
"What a lovely surprise." He snickered, his voice sounding scratchy.
"Hello Kenny." I said, sitting down in front of the glass door he sat behind. Will stood right behind me with his hands on my shoulders.
"What can I do for you Ella?" He asked, a smirk appearing on his face.
"I'm sure you've heard about the recent robbery at the Buckingham palace, am I correct?" I asked, causing him to nod.
"Great. Than I'm sure you also know who committed it." I stated.
"What makes you think I would know? I haven't left this cell for years." He pointed out.
"Ooh, yea, you know, that really sucks. The weather's been pretty nice outside lately. I think that cool, autumn breeze is finally moving in. Seems like it'll be a great fall this year. If only you could witness that- but wait? You can't." I smiled at my sudden choice to rub the fact that Kenny can't leave his cell in his face. Kenny rolled his eyes, as Will chuckled.
"Why don't we stop with all the side questions, and get down to the important stuff. What did you really come down here to ask me?" He stood up and paced along the line of the glass wall separating us.
"Great idea." Will agreed, flashing a quick smile.
"For a short while, we were under the impression that you only had one older brother." I began, "But now- we seem to have a different view."
"Ok, so?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Tell us the truth Kenny, how many older brothers do you actually have?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.
Kenny smirked even wider.
"Bravo Ella. You've figured it out. Didn't think you were that smart, but I guess I was mistaken." He stood right in front of me. The only thing keeping us apart, was a strong, thin piece of glass.
"Just answer her question!" Will yelled.
"Two!" Kenny shot back, "I have two, older brothers." His facial expression turned cold.
I knew it. I knew there was two. I don't understand how we could've been so oblivious to this all along.
Back when Kenny blew up my flower shop, something didn't seem right. The explosion was pretty big, meaning this had to have been a two man job.
But now it all makes sense. He was never working alone, and while Kory was busy with his own life back in London, His second brother must have been here, helping Kenny.
"Who is he?" I asked.
"I'd never tell you." Kenny said.
"Tell her, or I'll make sure you never leave this cell. Think about it. So many wonderful Fall's like this you won't get to see." Will pressed his face against the glass.
"You were never going to let me out anyways. You see, even in this tight space, I'm still capable of more than you'll ever be." Kenny started, "Here's something you probably never thought of! I planned the robbery. I wanted those jewels. I had my brother steal them. And now, they're in a secret place where you'll never find them." He sat back down in his chair with a smile.
"How is that possible?" Will asked, looking at me.
How could Kenny have planned all of this from inside a cell. The only people who have ever been down here were Agent Wisp, us, and his personal guard, Kade.
Hold on Ella. Kenny, Kory....
Kade.
My eyes widened, and my face lit up. It all made sense!
"Inside help." I muttered.
"What?" Will asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Inside help!" I shouted, sounding a little more excited than normally.
"Ella, what do you me-"
"Think about it!" I started, cutting Will off, "Kade was his personal bodyguard, but his name also started with a 'k', just like Kenny's and Kory's names."
"What does that have anything to do with this? It could just be a coincidence."
"But it's not! What was the first thing you said when you first saw Kade?" I asked Will.
Will thought for a moment, "That he looked just like-"
He paused.
"Kenny."
"Exactly! This whole time, we've been worried about Volgo, when we should have been worrying about Kenny some more. While we were caught up in our lives, Kade and Kenny were down here plotting their chance to steal the jewels. We were oblivious, Will. We never saw it coming." I explained.
"It all adds up." He shook his head, "But why didn't he just let Kenny escape?"
"Because it would've been too obvious, and we needed to keep it quiet." Kenny added.
"Plus, Kade left two days before the robbery without telling anyone about his whereabouts. Will, we know who the suspect is! We cracked the case!" I cheered.
"Settle down there princess." Kenny began, "You may have figured out the main details, but you still don't know where my brother is, where the jewels are, and what's going to happen to them."
"True." I nodded, "But I know someone who might."
"Who?" Both Will, and Kenny asked in unison.
"You'll both find out soon enough, but first, Will and I have a plane to catch." I grabbed Will's arm, and started to drag him out of the cell room.
"Wait, who is it? Ella, please don't leave me!" Kenny called out after us.
"What a baby." Will snickered, just as we left the room.
"I remember when you used to be like that." I said.
"Excuse me?" He frowned, "Me? I? No, that was so you."
"Don't even go there with me! You always complained about everything. It was so annoying." I rolled my eyes, shutting the elevator door.
"Well I wouldn't have to complain if you had done your job correctly." He muttered.
"It wasn't even my job! I had no experience back then." I pointed out.
"And who's fault was that?" Will asked.
"Um, yours, because you, wouldn't take the time out of your 'busy schedule' to train with me."
The elevator door opened, and we both started walking to our Agencies terminal where our plane was waiting.
"Because unlike little 16 year old girls, spies have a lot of things to take care of." Will stated.
"Yea, important spies." I commented.
"I was so an important spy." Will began.
"You were only 16 too. What possibly could make you so important?" I asked, crossing my arms as I boarded the plane.
"Um-"
"Enough you two!" Agent Wisp yelled, "Even as adults you fight like children." She shook her head, dropped off some files, and left the plane.
"Everything about me was important." Will whispered, causing me to roll my eyes.
