Fourteen
The past couple of days went by very slowly.
Britain was able to make the list of all abandoned places near our crime scene, so we mostly visited all 25 of those.
Except all were vacant. Kade was nowhere to be found- almost like he had mysteriously transferred out of London to somewhere much farther away. If that's the case- well ha, we're screwed, and so is the rest of the world.
Me, Britain, Will, and Kory were all sitting at the dining table doing random things to take our minds off the boredom, and blocks in our heads that stopped our thinking on this mission.
I sat between Kory and Britain who were involved in an intent game of scrabble, while WILL sat all the way at the other end playing with his rubix cube.
Besides all the area scoping the past days, Kory and I worked on my feelings every night. He helped me face Will again with keeping my head up high. No more tears were going to be spilt over him anymore.
But I also explained to Kory how I had feelings for both him AND Will. He said he knew that already, and that it didn't really bother him as much as it should have. He still plans on making me 'his' somewhere in the future.
"I just don't get it." Britain said, interrupting our silence of an afternoon. He cleared the scrabble board, and handed it to Kory to clean up.
"You said that he'd go closer to the crime scene." His words were directed to our enemy's brother.
Kory stopped what he was doing, and looked up at him, "He is closer- but just because he wasn't in an abandoned area, doesn't mean he's farther away."
"So you're saying we should continue looking close by?" I asked, Kory following with a hesitant nod.
"Aye- he doesn't know." Will sighed, "We're basically wasting our time sitting here."
"Then what should we do? You know- since you seem to be the one complaining about how nothing's getting done." Kory said.
Will rolled his eyes with a shake of his head, "Just saying that it'd be nice if we could get moving."
"I have it!" Britain shouted, jumping up with a clap of his hands. All of our faces lit up with a sense of hope.
"Let's-try-the-" he paused and looked at our anticipated faces with a smirk, "Church!"
Every face fell.
"That's the stupidest idea I've heard since I was twelve." Will snapped, causing me to throw a piece of popcorn at him.
Will picked up the corn and threw it in his mouth with a sly smile.
"Let's just face it than." Britain sat back down, "It's over."
"We can't give up just yet." Kory added, "Let's just wait a while to see if anything else comes to mind- something sensible."
"I agree with Kory." I said.
"Of course you do." Will muttered forcing Kory and I to both glare at him.
"I'm going to get some air." I rolled my eyes as I stood up, and left the three men to themselves. Sometimes I wonder why there couldn't have been another girl allowed to come with me- one that wasn't plotting against ruining my life.
After a 5 minute trip from my suite to outside the hotel, I breathed in the fresh, London air around me. A nice breeze blew by, causing my brown locks to blow all over the place.
I closed my eyes and imagined myself lying on the beach somewhere- not worrying about anything, or anyone.
The sun was hot, the water a clear blue- and one hunk of a guy lying right next to me. I slowly tilted my head, as that one familiar face appeared- Kade.
I opened my eyes with a jolt, as something hit the side of my head. I looked down to see an old newspaper at my feet. I bent down, and carefully picked it up.
Everything was washed out, and unreadable- except for one article .
"Palace Guard Held Responsible For Missing Crest's Of Europe'
This just made me upset. Kade was a tricky man, the poor guard on duty couldn't have done anything more to help the jewels. I felt so bad that they were holding him responsible for the robbery. Just made me-
Wait a minute. It can't be a coincidence that this paper got to me. Somebody must have thrown it towards my direction.
Maybe it's supposed to tell me something. Someone must want me to know something, but what could it-
"The palace!" I yelled, not thinking and or wanting too. A few people eyed me with odd looks, but I brushed them off.
"I have to tell the guys." I said quietly to myself before taking off back towards the suite.
Another 5 minutes passed until I made it back to the room. I barged in causing all three of them to stop smiling at a bathing suit magazine, and look up at me with 'oh no we're caught' looks.
"Hey guys I-" I paused, "You perverts- don't look at that!" I grabbed the magazine and tossed it across the room. Instead, I threw the newspaper down in front of them.
"So you're making us read an old newspaper instead of that?" Britain asked, pointing to the magazine lying on the couch in an odd position.
"Just look!" I said enthusiastically.
"Ella- there's nothing here but an old magazine article." Kory looked up at me confusedly, Britain and Will following him with the same movements.
"No- it's the palace! Kade's hiding out in the palace!" All of their eyes widened.
"That's one thing we never thought about." Will added, "Kory?"
"It's possible. Definitely something Kade would try." Kory said, nodding his head in approval.
"According to my research." Britain began, typing away at his laptop that randomly appeared, "Nobody's been in the palace since the incident. It's be easy for him to hide away there."
"Ella you're a genius!" Kory exclaimed, grabbing his coat.
"Kory and I will go do a quick scope to see if he's actually there. We'll report back to you what we find." I nodded as they both disappeared.
I sat down at the table, and smiled. We finally got somewhere new. I pulled the paper over towards me, and started to flip through the rest of the paper. When I reached the fourth page, a yellow post-it note fell out.
I picked up the note, and carefully read it to myself.
I guess one against three just wasn't very fair- but don't worry my dear. I've brought two others into the game as well. Now it's a fair fight. Good luck winning now that it's not a give-away.

As soon as I finished reading the note, Will's phone began to ring uncontrollably. He looked at me with a confused expression, "Is it possible they finished looking already?"
I shook my head no, as he mouthed the words "Agent Wisp" to me. A small sound was made as he pushed 'answer' and began to talk to her.
"Hello..... Mhm...... Ok fine I promise......" His eyes widened, "They What!?" He yelled through the phone.
"What!" I cried frantically, "What happened!?"
Will hung up and looked at me, "They- They escaped."
"Who Will, Who?"
"Kenny and Volgo."
My heart stopped at the sound of their names. Volgo was the trickster we had caught right before leaving for this mission, and Kenny was Kade's older brother a.k.a our ex-enemy.
But now I finally realized something. To Kade, this really was just one big game, because now he has two others- and I have a feeling their the two others he's brought back.

In the first chapter you got a small glimpse of Volgo. He's quite a tricky villain, so he's definetly someone to be afraid of.
The next chapters get very intense. Things take a rowdy turn.
