One year later:

 Pebbles was yanked from her cage. "-You must kill that dog you meet in the arena today! You must to make master happy!-" a few dogs in the building she was kept in yelped. Pebbles didn't inderstand. Kill another dog? She couldn't do that. Pebbles whined at her master,       "-why do I have to do this master? I don't want to hurt other dogs! I don't want to do this!-"  her master paid no attention to her plea  and whipped her. He then picked her up by her collar and tossed her into the arena. He grabbed hold of her collar as another man and his dog,  a large, pointy eared brown and black male, walked in and gripped his dog's collar. When the  bell rang, both men let go and ran for the  outside of the arena. People cheered and shouted at the dogs. "-I'm sorry....-"  the other dog whined as he lunged for Pebbles' throat. Pebbles, on instinct dodged his attack and sunk her teeth into his tail. A familiar scent and a strange coppery taste flooded Pebbles's nostrils and mouth. When Pebbles let go,  she saw  dark red blood seeping from The now misshapen tail. "- I... I!m sorry...I -I-"  Pebbles whined. She shied away from the larger dog into the edges of the ring.the other dog just growled and  jumped on her back, digging his claws into her, and  biting at her neck, until she fell to the ground.  Pebbles finally  understood what to do. She  jumped up suddenly and began  to  bite the dog's flanks  and back until it began bleeding badly, but would go no further.  "- I can't kill you.. I won't kill you..-" she whined.              "-Thank you for sparing my life, but you should've killed me. When you had the chance.-" the dog whimpered. The masters once again roughly grabbed the dogs by their collars and drug them from the arena. Pebbles's master  wiped pebbles's wounds clean,  then brought her back to here cage. "No food for the next 3 days. "  master growled.
