Vivienne Elisabeth Garnier
Character Sheet for "Royal Secrets, Royal Shame"
Role: What? I'm A Grandmother
Name: Vivienne Elisabeth Garnier
Nicknames: Vivi, The Dark Queen
Age: 300 (29 years in human appearance)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Faceclaim above belongs to Israeli actress Gal Godot.
Personality: Vivienne is a likeable and even enchanting woman who seems far older and wiser than she looks, largely because she's just celebrated her 300th birthday fairly recently. To all who meet her, she is a calm, approachable, and mysterious figure who is happy to tell a tale or hear the latest gossip. She seems to bear no ill-will towards anyone, even those who have harmed her, but that's because she believes in the power of magic and the spiritual balance of the Universe to ensure that those people get what's coming to them. Vivienne has a certain amount of joie de vivre, having spent centuries trapped in a crystal without company. She wants to make up for lost time and often throws caution to the wind, believing there's no such thing as a mistake in life, simply wasted opportunities. She has a reputation for being the Queen Of Evil, which she doesn't mind, but that's mostly because she has an elaborate wardrobe consisting only of black and red. She will occasionally appear in white, which means trouble. Vivienne is the only Queen to ever use dark magic, and she's quite good at it. Vivienne loves flowers and jewelry, though is opposed to crystals and the colour blue.
She employs mind magic and empathic manipulation with some frequency, which means the way you feel about something before entering her presence may be nothing like you feel when you leave it. She doesn't care for tea, but a bit of cognac or brandy in her teacup makes anyone's presence delightful, or at least, she'll have you believe so. After 7 PM, she'll switch to a martini glass. Adorably arrogant in her own right, she has a low tolerance for those who think too much of themselves or complain incessantly. Back in her day, people had the good grace and manners to hide their disdain for those they looked down upon.
Half of Vivienne is the elegant matriarch. The other half is the ultimate mean girl with a beguiling smile that may be your downfall. All of her is always the Queen. Eccentric, eclectic, and more chaos than evil, Vivienne wonders why all these young people are fighting to rule, when she is very clearly not dead yet, and very unfairly deposed. Though always kind and supportive, she probably has an agenda of her own.
Skills: Dark magic, in all its forms. She has the ability to influence thoughts and emotions when a person comes into direct contact with her. Educated, perceptive, and has all the graces and talents of the French Queens of the 1700's. Enjoys gardening and flowers, plays piano, and is addicted to fashion (as long as black, red, and gold are the only colours that exist.). She is constantly discovering new foods she's never had before.
Theme Song: "A Little Wicked"- Valerie Broussard
Aesthetic:
Quote: "Have you ever considered that maybe, perhaps...I am good? I was always the Queen. It was you who added "Evil" to my name." --- Regina, "Once Upon A Time"
Other: The name for this character references three witches. Vivienne is one of the many names for the enchantress who captured Merlin's heart in the Camelot tales, Elisabeth Proctor was an accused witch from Arthur Miller's The Crucible (she escaped execution by becoming pregnant, though her husband was hanged.), and a French witch burned at the stake for practising lycanthropy. (Yes, I do write historical fiction. :P )
