Personality: Evadne ascended to the throne through winning her own Queenstrial, and has no intention of allowing another woman to replace her. She will only be happy seeing her sons married to women who are able to recognise she will be the matriarchal figure in their lives until her death. Ambitious, charming, and possessing a beauty that has become regal with age and experience, Evadne is not a foolish or sentimental woman. She loves her sons, though she is partial to the eldest, who has inherited her gift of being able to influence the minds and emotions of others. She is able to influence minds through the senses, particularly touch and eye contact. It is only a rare few who are immune to her power or nullify it with their own, and she despises those people.

It is difficult to tell what she truly thinks and feels and what is a manipulation designed to serve a purpose. Because of this, few people know the Queen, or see her deeply-rooted insecurities and desire to be loved. She has sacrificed her life as a woman in favour of becoming a powerful and admired Queen, and often wonders if she knows herself anymore. She always rationalises her actions as necessary for the good of her family and her kingdom, but Evadne protects herself above all else, and her family second.
