Personality: Dax is a highly misunderstood personality. A rebel to the core, his tattoos and penchant for dressing in all black hide a far deeper character. He spends much of his free time in the gym, but he's also astute and intelligent, more than most people give him credit for. To those close to him, he shows a loving, nurturing, and protective side of his personality. However, he's notoriously reserved, the epitome of the strong, silent type. His appearance draws attention from men and women alike, but he seems largely disinterested, or at least oblivious. Those who do draw his attention feel like they're on a rollercoaster ride, because he is attentive and kind one day, and the next, will walk right past someone. Dax doesn't seem to care what anyone has to say about him---good, bad, or indifferent. His instructors, as well as those with enough substance to them to convince him to open up, will notice his intelligence and his natural talents. Understanding this character's personality and how to relate to him is a mystery unto itself.

Backstory: A tormented soul at heart, Dax has a difficult time finding his place in the world. He enjoys the inner life he's created in his mind and the walls he keeps around him that prevent the world from getting too close. Once an intelligent, athletically gifted boy, he changed at the age of 16 when he lost his parents and younger brother in a helicopter crash. After the tragedy, he became obsessed with death and began to adopt a black wardrobe and unapproachable demeanour. In reality, he is a sensitive soul who sees tragedy in death and wants to heal those who are worthy and to protect good people from suffering. As an adult, he skipped university and instead joined the military. The structure and emotional inaccessibility seemed to suit him, and allowed him to avoid getting too involved with other people.
