Time had passed quickly as I finished loading the rest of the groceries out of my new car. Well, it'll be mine one of these days I'm just renting it for now. It was quite troublesome to grab as many bags as I could carry, unlock the front glass doors and then carry hold them while I went up the elevator AND THEN bring them aaaaaall the way to Aaron's apartment.....ugg...,so tiring. I had to repeat that three times before I finally  got all the groceries in.

I looked towards the clock on the stove to see what the time was and it read: 2:30 (pm)
I had enough time to put the groceries away and then drive to their school.

I parked the car and got out just as all the kids flooded out of the school. It was like a swarm of bees except....it was a ton of kids from kindergarten to fourth grade. I waited by the gate and as soon as Malachi and Levin spotted me, a big smile grew on their faces and they ran as fast as they could to me.

"How was school?" I asked as they approached me.

"Meh. Glad it's over." Malachi said in a bored tone.

"We got to pet baby chicks!" Levin exclaimed excitedly.

I smiled and listened to Levin talking non-stop about the little yellow chicks that his teacher brought to school. It was very cute how excited he was.

"Woah, when did you get a car?" Malachi asked as we approached my car.

"Today when I got groceries. It's only a rental though." I mumbled the last part to myself.

Malachi and Levin both loaded into the car and I got in as well. I made sure their seatbelts were properly buckled (along with mine) and we drove back to the apartment. I parked at the small car park area just behind the apartment when I saw a familiar face.

"Dad!" Malachi and Levin both said as we got out of the car.

They both ran right into their dads arms and Aaron smiled happily.

"You're home really early." I said as I walked up to them.

Aaron picked Levin up off the ground and nodded, "Yeah, I finished early so I could take the kids out to the park for a while and just spend some family time."

I smiled, "That's great! Well then, this means I'm okay to go home?"

Malachi frowned slightly and gave his dad a look before Aaron finally spoke, "Actually, would you like to come with? I mean, only if you want."

"I would love to go!"

The three of them smiled and we all went to the nearby park. Levin played on the slides as Malachi took the challenge of racing me on the monkey bars. Of course Malachi won and he began running around and cheering.

Aaron laughed as he saw us all having fun. After Malachi got distracted by some other obstacle he was already challenging to defeat it.

"They sure are lively." I chuckled lightly as I sat next to Aaron on a park bench.

"They are....I haven't seen them this happy for so long that it's just....refreshing."

I then remembered, "Oh! I almost forgot." I pulled out the pamphlet for the parent teacher conference from my purse and handed it to Aaron. "Ms. Kiki gave this to me."

Aaron took it gently from my hands as his eyes scanned over the paper. "Okay. I can make this."

I then looked back out towards the kids as they played, "I'm glad you are a good father for them. Just don't neglect them too much. And you need your own rest too so don't push yourself." I said in a slightly serious tone.

"Heh, you're right." Aaron said along with a big yawn. His eyes became droopy and his body was relaxed. "I don't know....Just being here with you makes me feel so relaxed. It's...nice."

My cheeks slightly felt hot as I laughed slightly to cover up my embarrassment, "That makes me happy to hear so thank you."

Aaron seemed to realize what he said earlier and his cheeks burned red, "Sorry, I think I said something weird."

"No no, it's fine. It made me happy." I said happily.

We both were then surrounded by a slightly awkward silence before Levin ran up to us, "I'm tired....." Levin mumbled.

He pushed himself up on the bench and laid down between Aaron and I. He laid his head on my lap and I gently stroked his hair. "Want to go home and sleep?" I asked gently.

Levin shook his head, "No. Let's stay longer." Levin's voice became sleepy.

I suddenly felt like I was being stared at and when I looked up my eyes met with Aarons. He quickly looked away and his cheeks were tinged pink as he held his hand over his mouth.

I frowned slightly, "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing...just....you seem like you could be their mother." Aarons face turned a darker red as I felt my own face become hot.

My heart began to pound in my chest when a small teasing voice spoke, "Are you two flirting?"

I looked towards Malachi and he was grinning from ear to ear. "Malachi! What gave you that idea?" Aaron asked surprised.

"Hehehe you both are glowing red." Malachi giggled.

I slapped my hands over my cheeks, "Yeaaaah right!" I said in denial.

Malachi shrugged his shoulders and said, "Suuure. Hehe. Can we get ice cream?"

Aaron let out a sigh and nodded, "Yeah I guess. Let's go then."

I smiled and picked Levin up -who had fallen asleep- and we walked a few blocks down the road and to the ice cream shop. Wow, Aaron lives in an amazing part of town, there's a park, ice cream shop, and a school all right within reach. We all ordered ice cream and finally Levin woke up to get his too. I was disappointed when the day ended and I had to go home but I'm glad I was able to make such great (and somewhat embarrassing) memories.
