VII | I'm not going to say anything blatant

"Okay Liza, hit me with information!"

Namjoon shrieked in pain as his manager Liza hit him with her phone, "I didn't mean literally Liz!". They were on their way to an important meeting, one Namjoon didn't know of because Liza forgot all about it until this very morning.

Liza chuckled as she started rambling, "We are meeting with Natasha, one of the biggest fashion idols in not just South Korea but in the world as well. She started her fashion line Sarang's just when she was 21 and did her masters during her company's start up, and now she's like what 25 and so successful already, and makes fashion for all, that is affordable and fits different sizes, oh and-"

"I just want to know why she wants to meet me, I mean she sounds amazing but we're almost there and I don't wanna be blank Liz", Namjoon remarked, as much as amazing this woman sounded, it didn't appeal to him, the only woman that was on his mind was the woman, no, the beautiful woman from the convenience store.

"Oh sorry, Namjoon-ah, so every year Natasha holds this huge fashion show slash event thing where it's open for all masses, so it's like a fashion show that anybody can attend not just the rich, you know? This time she wants to customize the music for each piece of dressing, so it's like a song for each piece. She wants you to be in charge and produce the music and songs and also involve small budding artists. Isn't it great?"

"Yea, it is...", was that woman in the store a model ?, she was definitely more than beautiful for it. He felt bad calling her that woman, only if he knew her name.

He felt someone shaking him, "Namjoon-ah! Stop daydreaming, we're here already!!".

Namjoon broke out of his thoughts as he sent an embarrassed smile across Liza, he got out of the car to meet a very cheerful woman who seemed to be waiting for him.

"Hello! I am Yoon Ji Ah, Natasha's secretary", she introduced, "It's an honor to have you working with us, I'll take you to Natasha", she continued as she led him into the massive building

Namjoon quirked up an eyebrow curiously, after thanking her, "Isn't Natasha your boss? Do you call her by her name?", Namjoon asked, especially with the hierarchical system that still sadly prevailed in his country it was difficult not to ask the question.

Ji Ah let out a chuckle as she replied, "She is my boss, however, she doesn't like the system of calling people by their designation."

"Wow, that's impressive", Namjoon added, he was starting to notice things around him, the people who worked there all seemed to be casually dressed, the walls weren't the plain white he'd seen in many other offices, instead they were all a colourful explosion. Lining the walls, were not certifications or awards, rather pictures of employees and their families.

Leading him into the elevator Aera continued noticing Namjoon's expression, "Here we are all about what fits to work, being a fashion line we are always looking for things to inspire us, so we lean more into the unconventional ways of working because our fashion like us are unconventional and surprising."

To say that Namjoon was impressed would've been an understatement, for the first time in the last 2 weeks he had gone a full five minutes not thinking about that woman.

Finally they reached the topmost floor and Aera led him down a corridor and knocked twice at a door that simply read, 'Natasha', in a child's handwriting.

"Come in!", an oddly familiar voice called.

As the door opened and Namjoon saw the person within, all the air was knocked out of his lungs.

There she was, the woman who was stubborn enough to stay on his mind for the past 2 weeks.

As he stepped in and as Aera left with a short wave, Namjoon gasped, "You!", pointing at her.

Natasha giggled as she mimicked, "Me!".

"Now you know why I left so abruptly at the store", Natasha explained, "not only did I not want the extra publicity but I also knew we would be meeting soon. I'm guessing you didn't know that?"

Namjoon sunk into the couch opposite to the one Natasha was seated and buried his face in his hands, "No I did not know about that, I'm so embarrassed for everything."

Natasha let out another chuckle something that sounded like music to his ears, he could make a song just about how refreshing her laugh was.

"Hey, even I acted like complete weirdo, not saying that I won't here after; but it means we're equal now!", Natasha said, extending her hand for a handshake.

"I guess so",Namjoon said laughing, shaking her hand in truce, "I mean you did sound like a mother who found their lost child when you saw me."

A very audible gasp left Natasha's lips, "Hey!".

Namjoon laughed as he looked around Natasha's office, his eyes quickly settled on a picture of Natasha and the child from the store.

Natasha saw where he was looking and said, "That's Sarang, my daughter! You met her at the store right?"

"Yea, I-I did."

She has a daughter, which means she also has a husband. I'm such an idiot.

Namjoon felt like he could choke on air right now, he didn't even have a chance in the first place. Nevertheless, the butterflies of his little crush seemed to be reluctant to leave.

It would be weird if someone as beautiful and amazing as her wasn't married.

Natasha was confused as to why the awkward, light-hearted Namjoon suddenly seemed all sad and defeated.

Did I do something wrong? Oh no, I made a bad impression on my favourite idol, Sarang is never going to let this die down.

It was a very confused Natasha and very disheartened Namjoon that continued the meeting. However, like all adults they let their feelings loom in the air; never addressing, just ignoring.

Despite Namjoon's apparent revelation, Natasha was still on his mind. The pain of a lost chance played on his heartstrings.

A reminder notification on his phone momentarily distracted him from his sadness.

'Check up on Jeonggukie' it read.

Not wanting to put it off for later, he called Jeongguk right away, only to hear a distressed Jeongguk in return.

"Hyung! Its Lil- Dr.Han, she fainted. I don't have a good feeling about this", Jeongguk's voice was dripping with pain and sadness, unlike before however, it wasn't pain and sadness for himself but rather for someone else.

"Tell me which hospital Kookie, I'll be there!"

Anyway, what did you guys think?

What next?

The main leads were absent, but I love these two, three including Sarang.

Also, on a more serious note, spread the word about black lives matter, dont stop and sign as many petitions as you can. Silence is part of the problem.

#blacklivesmatter

And also happy pride month to those of you who celebrate!

Stay safe and take care.

Love,
