Cassie, Newly Written Books: Hi, Krysto_K ! We are glad to have you for this month's March interview! If you could, please tell us about yourself, either on or off Wattpad.

Krysto, Featured Author: Hello, my name is Krysto Parris and I love all things fantasy. I've been on Wattpad for a while now (probably close to a year) and I absolutely love it. It gives me the opportunity to share the amazing story that I have had floating around in my head. I'm nineteen years old and currently live in the USVI. I don't have much experience in story writing, but I don't let that stop me from sharing my ideas.

Cassie, Newly Written Books: That's wonderful. Fantasy is definitely a great genre and it's awesome that you were able to share your idea with Wattpad! What has inspired you to write Ascension: Heroes Rising?

Krysto, Featured Author: I'm a huge fan of other works of fiction like Marvel and DC Comics. However, I sometimes find myself being disappointed by how many of the stories play out and end. So, I decided to try my hand at create a story that aligns with my vision.

Ascension: Heroes Rising is an accumulation of all the best parts of the works of fantasy I've seen throughout my life.

Cassie, Newly Written Books: That's great! Seeing that Ascension: Heroes Rising is an accumulation of everything you've seen and you wanted to create a story that fit your vision, have you ever ran into writer's block? If so, what did you do to get out of it?

Krysto, Featured Author: Yes, many times actually. I would normally try and get my mind off of the story for a bit, and give myself time to recover from the stress. Listening to music, or just doing something relaxing would usually help. Sometimes while I'm relaxing a few ideas would pop into my head and I would just write them down as quickly as possible.

Also, it helps to plan out the story ahead of time. Even if it's just a general outline if the next chapter, its helps to have a sense of direction.

Cassie, Newly Written Books: Oh those are great recommendations! Also, outlining definitely does help, it's something I am doing to my story currently to get a hold of it again haha. Anyways, how does it feel to have your story featured on our Newly Written Books profile?

Krysto, Featured Author: I'm really excited, and very thankful... It's a wonderful feeling knowing that my work has been recognized, and it pushes me to continue to improve and perfect it. I've been doubting myself for a while... The low reads on my story was always a discouraging things to see. It made me feel like my story may not have been good enough to stand which the rest of the great stories on Wattpad. However, after many weeks of editing and revisions, I finally realized that I shouldn't be bringing myself down because of the low numbers. I know that my story is good and that's all that really matters. You have to first enjoy what you've written before you can expect anyone else to.

Being featured on your profile has just given me a huge confidence boost, and has let me know that I'm doing something right.

Cassie, Newly Written Books: You have such a great outlook on your writing! That's definitely true. You're the one that has to love it before anyone else can, but we are so glad that you are happy and got a confidence boost from us because that is exactly what we are trying to do! For our last question, we were curious. Do you have any advice for other writers?

Krysto, Featured Author: Yes... Like I said before, you must love your story for what it is. It will be shown through your words on your pages just how much you care about what you're writing. I believe that that's what attracts readers. If someone sees that you really love what you do then it will make it easier for them to at least check it out. Now, not everyone will like what you've written. That's just life. Everyone has their own unique tastes when it comes to stories. So, just continue to devote all your love to your story and someday it will all be worth it.
