Wok Star part 1

Ella's p.o.v.

"I have some exciting news that I can't wait to tell all of my friends. The premier of 'MBAV' is coming this weekend! The movie went off without a hitch, I am allowed to bring all of my friends... and I just finished the 3 episode of Season 1 of the 'My Babysitter's a Vampire' series. The episode is where 'Ethan' gets haunted by a ghost coach that was trapped in the schools only sports trophy. My character told 'Ethan' that I was unable to do anything, so he, 'Benny', and 'Rory', came up with a plan. I had to use all my willpower while recording the scene's to not laugh. So, another thing about the story line is, 'Ethan' is in love with my character, 'Sarah', and I have to be a badass babysitter plus vampire. If only it could be real, then that would be awesome. Well, I better go find Jade and see if her play 'Well Wishes' got accepted from the school. I'm so proud of her for writing it all by herself. She did ask for my help, and she said she'd give me at least 1/3 credit, but the rest goes to her for everything else." I think to myself as I get dressed.

After eating a healthy breakfast thanks to Rose and Angie, I grab my keys and pick up Jade. We both make it to school before first period, I had to talk to my art teacher about my assignment while Jade went alone. Turns out, I was nervous for no reason. She loved my art after all and wants to display it in the schools next art show.

Immediately wanting to find Jade to tell her the good news, I search her first class. She wasn't there. Texting her, she tells me to go to the janitor's closet. Opening the door, she was already cutting up one of his trash cans.

"This can't be good." I think, as I sit down and brace for the bad news.

Listening to her talk, I had to clutch my stomach due to a major cramp.

Beck's p.o.v.

"They blew off the last 2 classes, that can't be good. Where could they be? Come on, Ella, why won't you text me back? I know it's your time, but why are you avoiding me?" I ask myself as I entered the main hall.

"Hey, Beck." Tori said walking over to me.

"Yeah, what's up?" I ask, still looking around.

"After school, we're-" Tori almost dropped her books but caught them, "After school, we're going to this insane Chinese restaurant I found right up the street. Wanna come?" She asked.

"Maybe, if I can find Ella and Jade." I answer.

"Where are they?" Andre asked.

"I don't know. They both blew off their last two classes. And, Ella won't text me back." I answer.

"She still mad?" Tori asked.

"Oh, yeah." I answer.

"Why are they mad?" Cat asked.

"Because you know that play Jade wrote, 'Well Wishes'?" I ask. Cat nods.

"Well, she wanted to put it on here at the school and they won't let her. When Ella found out, she got depressed." I answer.

"Why not?" Andre asked.

"The teachers think it's too weird and disturbing." Tori answered.

Time Skip~ brought to you by Sinjin being weird and Robbie finding them.

We made our way to the janitor's closet. As I open the door, I noticed Jade and Ella on the ground. Jade was cutting up a trash can with scissors' while Ella was curled up, her legs up against her chest her hood up over her head and she was playing 'Spider Solitaire'.

Ella's p.o.v.

The door was opening slowly. I hid my face, so they wouldn't see my red eyes, tear stained cheeks, and no makeup.

"Hey. Whatcha doing?" Beck asked, being cautious of Jade, while making his way over to me.

"Cutting up a big trash can." Jade answered.
"Playing cards." I answer, not looking up.

"You cut up the janitor's entire trash can?" Robbie asked.

"He's got another one." Jade answered.

"Jade, listen, I read your play, and I think it's really good." Tori walked in, trying to be nice.

"Suck up." I say, in pain.
"I'm not your friend." Jade replied.

"Well." Tori said teasing.

"Anyway, if the school won't let me do my play, then who cares if it's good?" Jade asked.

"Why don't you just produce your play yourself? Then Ella could help pay for it." Cat suggested.

Exiting my game, I shoot Cat a quick text. 'Don't tell Tori about my money, or else!'

"Why just Ella?" Tori asked.

Cat was silent for a sec, letting out a soft squeak.

"Never mind." Cat answered.

"You know how much money that would cost? I'm not letting Ella try to pay with money she doesn't have." Jade asked, hinting slightly, keeping my secret.

"No." Cat answered.

"Did she cut up that whole trash can with just a pair of scissors?" Andre asked.

"How much do you think it would really cost to produce your play?" Tori asked.

"I don't know. Two, three grand." Jade answered.

"Okay. Well then it shouldn't be that hard to find someone to put up the money." Tori replied.

"What did she just say? Did she really just say that? Maybe, she's not as annoying as she seemed. Maybe, she's nice." I think to myself, forcing myself up off the ground and leaned onto Beck.

Wrapping his arms around me to help hold me up, I lean into his chest taking in his amazing scent trying to ignore the pain. The next thing I knew, Jade was swiftly getting up.

"You'd really find me someone to put up the money to produce my play?" Jade asked.

"I meant that-"

"Hey!" Jade swung her scissors near Andre, Beck and I, cutting Tori off. Beck pulled me closer so her scissors wouldn't hit me.

"Did she not say, 'It shouldn't be that hard to find someone to put up the money?'" Jade asked, using a southern accent for Tori's voice.

I kept quiet, as the others gave her a respond, agreeing with her.

"So you'll do that, right?" Jade asked.

"Sure." Tori answered, hesitantly.

"Good. Come on, Ella. Let's get some food." Jade replies, putting her scissors away.

She gently pulled me away from Beck, and helped me out of the closet. Walking out of the school, we asked and got permission from Lane, we walked to my car and waited for Beck to come.

Slap Update:

EllieHeart: Having lunch with the two people I love most. Best way to ignore shooting pain in my stomach. Being a girl is hard!

Mood: Tired and Achy

"How's your Freezy Queen?" Beck asked.

"Good. The cold is helping. But Inside Out Burger is good as well." I answer, cuddling closer to him as we lay on his bed.

"That's good. Does it hurt still?" Jade asked adjusting herself on Beck's couch.

"Honestly, hun, I feel fine. Just super tired this time." I answer with a yawn.

Jade and Beck wanted Inside Out Burger for our lunch while I wanted Freezy Queen. We went through the drive-thru for our meals, while I had someone deliver ice cream to Beck's trailer. Enjoying out food, we get an alert on the Slap.

"Holy crap! She did it!" Jade said shocked.

"What?" I ask.

"Tori just posted on the Slap that she found someone to put up the money. Jade's gonna get to produce her play." Beck answered excited.

Squealing softly with enjoyment, I hug my sister. After letting go, she calls Tori.

"I'm surprised she managed to find the money that quickly." I say to Beck.

"Why? You think somethings up?" Beck asked.

"I just find it suspicious, that's all. Nothing against Tori, but it just seems too easy." I answer.

"Well, then lets go." Beck replied. I nod.

Getting up, I put my jacket back on as Jade took her car to go get Tori, while Beck and I followed her directions to the theater.

________________________________________

Walking in, Beck held my hand while using his other to hold the door open for me and Jade. Tori frantically ushered us in.

"Wow. This is a nice little theater." Beck compliments.

"Right?" Tori asked.

I nod as I take it all in, frankly, I was impressed about how Tori handled this.

"And this restaurant lady who you barely know is really going to pay for this place?" Jade asked.

"She's paying for everything. The whole play, the full $3,000." Tori answered.

"Why did she though? Don't you find that strange?" I ask.

"I'm telling you, it's true." Tori answered.

"She really hooked you up." Beck said.

"I have to say, nicely done Tori." I reply.

Beck and I sit down in one of the fold-out chairs watching Tori's next move.

"Yeah. You love me? Love me? Come on, give Tori a squeeze." Tori says, in a weird way, asking for a hug.

"Here, I'll playfully punch your arm as if we were friends." Jade suggests.

"I'll take it." Tori said twisting her body. Jade playfully punches her arm, then walked off the stage.

"Well, I've got a lot of work to do here. I gotta ask Sinjin if he'll help me with set dressing. Ella, could you help with the costumes?" Jade asked.

"I'd love to, hun." I answer.

"Great. Maybe Robbie could do the lighting if I ask-" Jade listed off, as the door opened.

"Hello!" A cheerful woman says, walking in.

"Wait a minute!" I think, looking at the woman who looks very familiar.

"Look, it's Tori Vega with the beautiful cheekbones." She compliments.

"Hey, you. Jade, this is Mrs. Lee from 'Wok Star'." Tori introduces.

"Oh, it's really cool to meet you." Jade replied.

"Is this our playwright?" Mrs. Lee asked.

"That's her!" Tori answered.

"I'm Jade. This is my sister Ella, and her boyfriend Beck." Jade replies.

"I am the sister." I say.

"I am the boyfriend." Beck replies.

"Wait. Ella? Is that you, dear?" Mrs. Lee asked.

"Yep. It's wonderful to see you again, Mrs. Lee." I answer, standing up and giving her a hug.

"It's been too long, Ella. How are those boys?" Mrs. Lee asked.

"They are enjoying their few months off of work. They are happy for me for completing my movie." I answer.

"Wait? You finished your movie and you didn't tell me?" Jade asked.

"I was going to surprise you this morning, along with the news about my art class, but then... you know." I answer, "I'll tell you about it later."

"Mrs. Lee, I can't even, like, tell you how amazing it is that you're paying for all of this." Jade said to Mrs. Lee.

"Ah, don't even mention that. I'm just happy you get to do your play. And, I got to see darling Ella again, so that's a bonus." Mrs. Lee replied.

"Well, thanks. I can't wait for you to read it." Jade said.

"I already did." Mrs. Lee replies.

"Oh, I gave her a copy last night." Tori explained.

"I read it in the bathtub." Mrs. Lee states.

"Oh, did you like it?" Jade asks.

"Loved it." Mrs. Lee compliments.

"Really?"
"That's cool." I state.
"Awesome!"
"O-M-G."

"Yeah, I only have a few notes." Mrs. Lee said, getting into her purse.

"What do you mean, notes?" Jade asks.

"You know, ideas to make the play better? Spice it up a little bit." Mrs. Lee answers.

"Ut oh. Someone's gonna die." I mentally facepalm, cringing at the thought of my sister being let off her leash.

"Oh gosh." Tori said chuckling, then sighed in realization.

"Uh, you want to change my play?" Jade asks.

Hearing her ask that, I suddenly felt pain in my stomach again. Holding it tightly, I soon feel Beck's arms wrapping around my body.

"Wow, I got to, uh-" Beck tried to cover up some excuse. "I got to take Ella home." Beck lies.

"Oh, be safe, Ella dear." Mrs. Lee said.

"I will." I force a smile, no longer feeling my legs. I was then swiftly picked up bridal style by Beck as he carried me to the car.

"I'll call Rose and Angie, they'll get some stuff ready for you." Beck said laying me down in my backseat.

"Wait. Do we have to go to my place?" I ask, softly.

"Of course. Is something wrong?" Beck asks.

"We never really hangout at your place anymore." I answer, feeling myself slowly falling asleep.

"I know. We'll figure that out once you're feeling better. Just close your eyes, and when you wake up, I'll be there, no matter where we hangout." Beck says.

"Ok." I reply softly, closing my eyes.

Feeling myself drift asleep, I could feel the car moving. After a while, I woke up in my basement. Beck was laying comfortably on the long end of the couch while I practically laid on him. My blanket from upstairs draped over us while Fast and Furious 6 was playing onscreen.

"Feeling better?" I snap my eyes, seeing Beck open his. I nod, shifting my body a little to get down to his right side.

"Thirsty?" Beck asked, stretching.

I nod again carefully stretching as well. He hands me a water bottle so I wouldn't make a mess, then the Midol. After swallowing it, I check my texts from Jade.

. . .

"I knew it! Called it!" I mentally shout, careful not to cause a headache as I toss my phone to the other side of the couch and fall back asleep on Beck.

___________________________________________

"This is my life now." I groan as I am picking out Cat's outfit for her costume.

Jade informed me that Mrs. Lee had changed her play by adding her daughter, Daisy, in as an angel. She is currently singing above in her harness, making me cringe with one high note. One, don't get me wrong, I would never judge someone's singing, especially a little girl, but wow, does she need serious help.

"Ella." I was pulling out from my thoughts when I turned to see Daisy standing behind me.

"Hi, Daisy, right?" I ask. She nods, as I put the clothes back on the hanger.

"How are you? Are you having fun?" I ask.

"How come you're back here?" She asked.

"Well, my sister wanted me to help with the costumes, so I am trying to figure out what to put together." I answer.

"You hated my singing, didn't you?" She asks sad.

I turn around, and immediately noticed the tears in her eyes.

"Oh, hun, it's not that. I just had trouble adjusting to one particular note, that's all." I tell her. She was confused.

"Hmm, how can I explain this so you understand. You know how a dog is only able to hear a 'dog whistle'?" I ask. Daisy nods.

"Well, you see, my hearing is much different than anyone else's. There's one pitch that hurts my ears, so I get some distance, so it won't cause any damage." I explain.

"So, in a way, I did hurt you. I knew my singing was terrible." Daisy replies, crying.

"Oh, hun, come here. Look, singing sometimes really isn't for everyone. You just have to find what you like to do." I say to her.

"I hate singing, every time I sing, people look at me weird." Daisy nearly shouted.

"Well, what do you like to do?" I ask.

"I like playing instruments." Daisy answers, I take the chance to grab a tissue and wipe her tears.

"Then why don't you tell your mom that you would rather play instruments instead?" I ask.

"I'm afraid she'll get angry at me." Daisy answered.

"Oh, Daisy, please don't cry. How about I help you talk to her? Would that make you feel better?" I suggest.

Daisy gave a shocked expression, then leaped into my arms.

"Ella. Why do you sing? How do you know that you sound good?" Daisy asks.

"Well, Daisy, to me it's not about sounding good, I take it more as I love to show everyone a good time. You see, I lost my mom a long time ago, and growing up I found that I could sing my pain away. I don't think about how I sing, because it would sound like bragging. So, instead, I think about how others would take time out of their day, taking time away from their Friday nights, spending their hard-earned money to come listen to me." I explain.

"You have an amazing voice, Ella." Daisy says.

"Thank you, Daisy. What instrument if your favorite?" I ask.

"The violin. It goes with Demi Levato's song 'Fly to your Heart' from 'Tinkerbell'." Daisy answered.

"She does love that song. She wrote it just for that movie." I reply.

"Speaking of movies, I heard a rumor about your movie premier coming up. I wish I could go." Daisy states.

"Hmm. Keep an open mind, Daisy. You never know." I replied. She ran off, letting me get back to work.

normal p.o.v.

At Tori's place, Beck had to drag Ella with him to play with them. Ella sat in Beck's lap while they sat at around the casino tabletop.

"And then?" Beck asks.

"She thanked me for ruining her life." Tori answered.

"Well, I told you it seemed too easy, but no one ever listens to me." Ella replies sassy at her, hating that no one took her advice when they need it.

"At least she thanked you." Andre says trying to lighten the mood.

Ella glared at him, as Beck rubbed her back.

"Gimme one." Beck says putting a card in. Andre played banker.

"Two." Tori played her turn.

"What's Trina doing?" Robbie asked.

"I'm putting avocado on my face to give it a natural glow." Trina answered.

"Where'd you get that malarkey? Everyone knows that the oils in avocado's just clog your pores." Ella stated.

Her friends were silent as they say Trina's shocked expression. She ran off, hopefully to the bathroom to get some real cleanse.

"I use male makeup." Robbie states. Everyone was silent.

"Hun, you really shouldn't tell personal information to people. There is such thing as 'too much info'." Ella tells him sincerely.

"Wait. Jade's dad's only coming to the play on the first night, right?" Cat asked.

"Yeah." Tori answers.

"So then why don't we just do it the way Jade wrote it for that one night?" Cat asked.

"Because Mrs. Lee is going to be there, and she wants it done her way." Tori answered.

"But what if she's not there?" Cat asks.

"Sneaky redheaded kitty say what?" Ella asked, shocked of the sudden genius plan.

"I think Cat just said something pretty smart." Andre states.

"I'm sorry." Cat apologizes.

"No, hun, that's a good thing." Ella cheers her up.

"Yeah, now how do we keep Mrs. Lee from going to the play on opening night?" Tori asks.

"Bingo!" Cat exclaimed.

"You've got a plan?" Beck asks.

"No, I don't like this game. I want to play bingo." Cat answered.

"Wait, wait, wait, Ella isn't Mrs. Lee obsessed with celebrities?" Andre asked.

"Oh, I know where you're going with that, and I can't do it." Ella answers.

"What? Tell us." Tori said.

"Someone distracts Mrs. Lee long enough for the play to finish. She'll be disappointed that she misses it, but will end up coming back the next night. Look, I know the lady can be a little crazy, but I like her. She is a sweet woman who cares for her child. You can use that idea, just leave me out of it. I am already helping Daisy talk to her mom about something, and I don't want to woman to hate me." Ella explained.

"Ok, then. We just need someone to distract Mrs. Lee's attention. it can't be Ella since she's doing the costumes too." Cat says.

"Who can we get to play a fake celebrity?" Andre asks.

Tori smirks, turning to look at her sister. Trina pauses, noticing how everyone was looking at her.

"Ella. How much would it cost me to ask you to do a quick makeup job?" Tori asks.

"Let me grab my bag, and I will let you know when I am finished." Ella answers.

Ella's p.o.v.

"Thank god it's over. I can't stand one more minute being with her." I think as I rush down the stairs. Tossing my bag onto the couch, I rush into Beck's arms letting my tears fall.

"Wow. Hey, what happened?" Beck asked, wrapping his arms around my shaken form.

"I am never doing makeup for her again." I answer, sobbing into Beck's chest.

"Trina, what the hell?! What did you do?" Tori shouts as Trina came down the stairs in her disguise.

"I just gave my opinion. She's the one who was messing it up." Trina shouts back.

"That's a lie! You were the one who wouldn't sit still. That's why the brush poked your eye. Plus, I was going for a natural bronze look, while she thought she needed to be a goddess." I correct her.

"Trina. She's been doing make up longer than you've been at Hollywood Arts. Even before she went on her first tour, she was already good at makeup. Ella is experienced in it, better than anyone." Cat says, standing up.

"Maybe we should have asked someone else to do it." Tori replies.

"What? No! I'm totally ready to go. Let's just do this." Trina protested.

"After what you put my girlfriend through, you're lucky I don't tell Jade about this. Why should we let you do this, you might just screw it up?" Beck asks.

Trina was silent, careful not to cry.

"I- I-I'm sorry. I'm not used to people being better than me at anything. I was honestly trying to help, because I was afraid of what she could do. I thought after everything that's happened between us, everything that I caused... she would get her revenge." Trina states.

"Why would you think that? Do I seem like the kind of person who would do that?" I ask.

"Well, you are-"

"Let me stop you right there! Just because I am Jade's twin, doesn't mean I am exactly like her. We have our similarities and our differences. When you apologized just now, I thought you were a decent person, but every time someone compares me to Jade. It only makes you a gank. I got to take Cat to get ready for the show. Beck, keep me in the loop, I will try to figure out how to handle Daisy, so the plan isn't screwed." I exclaim, taking my bag and headed for the door. Cat followed behind me, as we get in my car.

"Are you ok, Ella?" Cat asked.

"Why? Why does everyone compare me to Jade? Am I mean? Do I come off as mean? Why do people think I am just like her?" I ask, ranting.

Soon as it was, Cat wrapped her arms around my head, letting me cry into her shoulder. After 20 seconds, I compose myself. Turning the car on, we drive to the theater. Backstage, Cat was in costume wearing a black cosmetologist wrap in front of her to protect her from the makeup.

"Ok, any preferences?" I ask her.

Then open my case full of lipstick, balm, eyeliner, makeup brushes, makeup palettes, some creams that make your skin shine, one that covers up bags under your eyes, tweezers, and many more makeup tools and items.

"I love the idea of a natural look. But I want what you think is best for the play." Cat answers.

"You want what I think is best?" I ask.

"Of course. I love it when you put makeup on me. It's so much fun. You always smile brightest when you do it. It's like when you sing, you pour your heart out into your lyrics." Cat answers.

Wiping a stray tear, I grab my best natural makeup palette.

"You ready?" I ask. Cat squeals excited while clapping her hands. Closing her eyes, I take my crush and gently tap on the base to get some on the brush without getting too much.

The show was almost half an hour from now. Being careful not to smear or to blend too much, I finish Cat with a little light pink lip gloss to make sure they reflect the light. But, also to make sure they don't dry out as easy. Taking off her cover, I take notice that her red converse was perfect.

"Ok, makeups done. Now, go ask Jade what she wants for the hairstyle, and remember to change your bra." I instruct.

Cat smiles then goes off. As I start to collect my supplies to tidy up, I feel my jacket being tugged. Turning around, I see Daisy in her costume.

"Oh, Daisy, you startled me. Awe, you look so cute." I coo at her adorableness.

"Thanks, Ella. They are about to put me in my harness." Daisy replied.

"Oh, well, is something wrong? You were fine last time." I say, confused to why she was stalling.

"Well, I saw how beautiful you made your friend, and I was wondering if you do me too?" Daisy asks.

"Well, Daisy, there's something I have to tell you first. One, beauty is skin deep. What I like to think that means, is that when you look in the mirror and you tell yourself that you are beautiful without any hesitation, then you don't really need makeup. And two, makeup is both fun and dangerous, depending on the circumstances. If you'd like, I could do a little highlighter on your cheekbones, a little eyeliner under your eyes, then a little lip gloss, you would be beautiful no matter what." I answer.

Daisy nods and smiles at me. I take her hand and help her into the chair. Taking the highlighter stick, I gently rub it against her cheek going upwards. The sparkle and shine rest on her cheeks, giving it a noticeable tone. Then, I carefully help her apply the eyeliner under eyes, so she doesn't poke her eye. Then, I show her how to apply the lip gloss, like how beginners are taught. You start in the middle of your lip then glide it across. Going back and forth with one stroke then press your lips together to shape it.

Squealing in excitement, she hugs me, thanks me, then goes back to her harness. Checking the time, I walk over to the curtain and found Jade.

"Is he here?" I ask.

"Yeah, he's right there." Jade answers, pointing to the audience.

"Wow. He looks kind of-" Tori says.

"Like he hates my guts?" Jade finished, feeling the pressure.

"I was going to say cold and judgmental." Tori corrects.

"That works, too." Jade replies.

"Honestly, you two, stop that. It's rude to judge people. I don't know how you can do it so casually, Jade." I scold them.

"Like how a certain girl who stalked you all across Europe because she was so fascinated by how you two almost looked alike, even though I'm your twin. You thought she was crazy." Jade roasts me.

"One, nice roast. Two, she was crazy. Do you blame me?" I ask dramatically.

"Look, Jade, don't freak out. Your play is going to happen just how you want it too. The boys will keep Mrs. Lee busy, long enough for her to miss tonight." Tori explained.

"What about daughter Daisy?" Jade asked.

"When she found me less than 5 minutes ago, she was already in costume after I helped her with makeup. I think she's already in her harness. I know you two have some sort of plan to keep her from singing tonight, but I want absolutely no part of that scheme. If you need me, I'll be talking to Beck." I explain to them both, leaving before they tell what their plan is for the innocent little girl.

Taking out my phone, I call Beck. He calms me down, and we just talk for the next 5 minutes. We never really talk anymore, just like a normal couple. There always seems to be drama, or a scheme, schoolwork, a concert, Tori drama, you name it. But the day after tomorrow, it is going to be my night once again. I hate to brag or gloat, but I think I deserve this. Everyone is right, I have worked my butt off for the movie and the show. This is going to be awesome. Beck then tells me that it's time for the plan. I tell him I love him, he says it back, I hang up.

___________________________________________________

Watching from behind the curtain, Cat nails her role.

"How could this have happened? My grandmother always said that if I was a good person that only good things would happen to me. Is this what you meant nana?! I've done good my whole life. And now I'm trapped in this well, and I'll probably never get out." Cat twists her body and cries into her arms, laying on her stomach.

The audience applauds, and so am I. Going over to the cooler, I grab a water bottle for Cat as the intermission comes on. I toss her the bottle, then grab another for Daisy. I hesitate at first, but then look up to see Daisy hanging from her harness. Walking over to the ladder, I climb up to the catwalk. Careful not to fall, slide, or make any noises, I finally reach Daisy.

"What are you doing up here, Ella? Without a harness, you could get hurt." Daisy asked.

"Oh, hun, this is not the first time I've done this. Sadly, it probably won't be my last." I answer as I grab her line and pull her over. Helping her climb over, she lands her feet on the catwalk.

"But, my scene's about to come up. I have to sing tonight." Daisy said.

"Well, there's been a change in plans. I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings, Daisy, but my sister's sort-of friend Tori, had a plan to make sure you didn't sing." I reply to her.

"I was dangling up there before the play started. Were they just going to let me hang up there all night?" Daisy asked.

"No, hun, absolutely not. That's why I came up here. I figured if everyone gets what they want tonight, I figured you should be included too." I answer her while unhooking her harness.

"How so?" Daisy asks, relieved to be out of that painful harness.

"I brought my tablet with me, and I thought we could play some games together to pass the time. Plus, we have to stay up here, so we don't get caught. And I thought I'd watch over you till your mom gets here." I answer her while pulling out my tablet I brought from home out of my bag.

"Are we going to be in trouble?" Daisy asks concerned.

"Oh, no, hun. My sister and I might, but I will take the consequences anyway. Besides, once the two of us talk to your mom, I'm sure she won't be as mad when she finds out what happened. Also, if we play games together right now, it could be the only time we can spend together before your mom blows a gasket. You want to try to beat my high score on 'Fruit Ninja'?" I ask back.

Daisy softly chuckles as she takes my tablet. Sitting crisscross with the tablet in her lap, I lean against the hard wall and join her. Even from up here I can still hear Cat act. I may not be able to see it, but I proofread Jade's script for her like 3 hundred times. I got it memorized by heart.

. . .

Together, she and I have played a total of 15 games. She almost beat my high score, but she was still happy anyway. I was waiting for her to finish, while I wait patiently Beck and I texted.

"Oh, I just got a text from my friend. Your mom is on her way." I say.

"Ok." Daisy replies.

"Come on, Ariel, breathe. Breathe!"

"It's too late."
"How is she?"
"She's gone."
"What?"

A little silent pause, which meant 'father' kissed 'Ariels' forehead. "Dad?" Cat finishes the play.

The lights dim, the audience applauds while the curtains close.

"What now?" Daisy asked.

"Now, it's time for us to get down. And, time to face your mom." I answer.

"Do we have to?" Daisy asks.

"Sorry, hun. She'll be even more furious if she found out we lied. It's better to tell the truth. Also, I have that surprise for my friends, and you and your mom." I answer.

Helping her down the ladder, we walk out the curtain to find Jade and Tori talking to Mrs. Lee.

"What do you mean she's not up there? Where's my daughter?" Mrs. Lee asked concerned.

"She's right here." I answer, getting their attention.

Daisy ran into her mother's arms, they hug lovingly.

"Oh, Daisy, I was so worried when they didn't see you up there in your harness. What happened?" Mrs. Lee asks.

"That's what I'd like to talk to you about. If Jade and Tori hadn't already." I answer. Mrs. Lee nodded her head.

The three of us walk out of the theater and to their car.

"So. Did you find out?" I ask.

"About how that moronic girl with cheekbones was going to leave my daughter hanging. Literally! Then yes." Mrs. Lee answers disappointed.

"I am going to be straight with you, Mrs. Lee. When Tori came up with her plan, I was against it. But, I am not the type of person to leave my friends in a time of need. All I did was disguise my friends so they could keep you at your restaurant." I explain.

"Then, how did Daisy get down from her harness?" She asked.

"That was me. I felt bad that she was just hanging up there. So, I got up there and unhooked her. While the play was going on, I kept her entertained." I answer.

"It's true. She let me play her tablet while she watched me. Together, we were total ninja's against the fruit." Daisy says.

"So, even though you couldn't abandon your friends and family, you still went against your ridiculous plan and kept my daughter happy?" Mrs. Lee asks.

"Yes. But, Mrs. Lee, singing doesn't make Daisy happy. I think she has something she wants to tell you." I answer.

Mrs. Lee turned her head to find Daisy motioning for her to come closer. Having a private conversation, I stand back.

"Oh, Daisy. I wish you could have told that. I am so sorry to not have seen this. Will you forgive me?" Mrs. Lee asks.

"Of course, mom. In fact, Ella said she had a surprise for the both of us." Daisy answered, followed by a hug.

"What's that?" She asks.

"I'm sure you've heard about my movie premiere the day after tomorrow?" I ask back. They nod.

"Well, I am going to take my friends with me, but in light of current events, I would like to give you both special tickets to join me. Along with that, you two will be taken on a Spa Day. All expenses fully paid for, by me. You will even walk with me on the red carpet." I state.

"You don't have to do that." She says.

"I want to. I know it can't make up for our horrible actions, but I know how much Daisy is excited to see it." I reply, pulling out the tickets from my pocket.

"You didn't really mean any harm, and my daughter did have fun. I accept your apology. And we would love to join you for your premiere." Mrs. Lee said, causing Daisy to jump up and down happily. I smile as I watch them get in their car and drive off.
