New Jacket
Sans knew that he couldn't keep his favorite jacket with him. It was to well known to... everybody. So with some (a lot) of reluctance, he abandoned it in an alleyway to throw the police and others searching for him off his trail. Still, he felt naked without the thick blue fabric. The others noticed. "He's... really missing that jacket, huh." Jeff commented as EJ came in shaking his head. "That jacket was the last connection to his old life. It had sentimental value." The demon replied. "So? It's not like he can go back anyway, it's better for him to forget." Ben muttered. "The skeleton can never forget, no matter what's been done, no matter what timeline it is." Smile Dog responded to Ben, but was ultimately ignored. This is why he did talk to the others. "Maybe we can get him a new, better one?" Sally suggested. "Y-yeah!" Toby agreed immediately. "... where?" Masky questioned. "I can make him one and stuff it with lots of candy." LJ offered. "No." Hoodie shot down his idea instantly. "You all keep thinking. Smile Dog, come with me." Slender wanted to know what the Hellhound was saying about timelines. EJ mentally rolled his eyes and left to hunt and think.

Sans had told him about the importance of that jacket. All it had been through. His father, Dr. Gaster had given it to him not long before the man fell, or died, or whatever happened. Sans never specified the monster's fate. He'd raised his little brother, often using that jacket to swaddle the baby bones in. He'd seen the surface in that thing, died in it, saw hope in it, suffered in it... it's been through a lot, but his main connection to it was Papyrus. EJ couldn't forget that Papyrus was his original reason for staying with the Moonshadow's. No matter what would happen, Papyrus would always be Sans drive to his decisions. No matter what the skeleton said, he wasn't selfish. Not in EJ's eyes. So, in order to replace something of significant importance, he had to be given something of equal importance. Eyeless knew where to get something like that. That meant going home to where his sister was, still paranoid about the monster he'd become, no doubt. She knew what he'd done to their mother after all, but he knew despite that, she'd never leave their family home.

He snuck in through the kitchen window and crept along the wall until he got to the open archway leading to the dining room and living room. He turned to the right towards the living room and was about to turn again until he stopped. He'd nearly run into her. They stood there, her breath getting erratic as she shakily backed up. Jack just 'watched'. He was here for one thing. "J-Jacky.." She stammered. "..." He slipped by her and to their parents old bedroom. From there he started digging for what he wanted. He went through boxes and boxes of his dad's old clothes until he finally found it. It was his dad's when he was a teenager who'd passed it to him. Jack had given it back to his did for safe keeping while he was away at college, but his dad was killed in a car accident. The jacket was black with a THICK fluffy red hood. That was from a prank his sister had pulled on him. Now, he would be giving it to Sans. Jack walked past his sister, pausing just a moment to ruffle her hair as he'd done when he was alive, then left.

Someone knocked on Sans door while he tried to sleep the day away. He groaned. "go away.." The nob was turned anyways. "Nope." The familiar voice of EJ replied. "Get your nonexistent ass up and try this on." Sans sat up to ask what he was talking about, only to get a face full of jacket fluff. He pulled it away to get a good look at the black and red item. "this is.."
"It was my dad's. Try it on, come on. I'm not waiting forever for you." EJ had shifted his mask up so Sans could see his face. It was his first time actually seeing his face. When he called Jack hot before, he was talking about his physic. But his face... damn! His grey complexion looked great on him, sharp teeth and black hollow eyes looked strangely stunning. "Yeah, yeah stop gawking, Skeleton." Sans sputtered. "but your fucking hot! why do you hide that!?" Jack looked away, blushing. "Why do you hide your hands behind fingerless gloves? It's just a part of me I don't like very many people seeing." Sans decided to accept that answer and tried on the jacket. "are you sure-"
"If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't be giving it to you." Jack interjected. "... thanks jackson." The demon cleared his throat. "Jack is fine." Sans grinned. "still, i owe ya. i really appreciate this." Jack shook his head and slipped down his mask. "You owe nothing, my friend."
