In the time of the war between Humans and Monsters, many other beings emerged as well. The Demons joined the chaos of it all. The Angels joined to fight the Demons. There were other beings of unknown origin naturally, things like the Rake and that Laughing Jack in the box. There were Spirits, Hellhounds, Demon Dogs, etc. But we will get to them later. Now we will focus on a Skeleton, a Demon, and a Angel.

This monster, the Skeleton, was Gill Sans Shadow. He was an assassin during the war, often using the cover of night to hide and kill his targets. He didn't want to, but it was his duty to serve the king. Shadow, as he was often referred to as, didn't scare easy. So when he was approached by a Demon, he was ready for anything. The Demon wasn't there for a fight though. Shadow had caught his interest. He was intrigued. So they talked. Shadow befriended the Demon, even loved him. The Demon called Shadow his 'Moonshadow' because it was only those with heavy sins that Shadow killed for the king. He wasn't a bad Monster like the Demon was, and he was surprised that someone like Shadow could love him.

It wasn't only the Demon who sought after Shadow's affections though. The Angel did too. The Angel wanted to take Shadow as his husband and purify his soul of all those he killed, help Shadow ascend. When the Angel approached Shadow though, he shot the Angel down. He was with the Demon. Enraged, the Angel placed a curse on Shadow and all generations to come and attacked the Demon. Angels and Demons have always had a grudge against one another, but it deepened between the two on that day. The Demon would forever go after the Angel as the Angel would forever go after the Demon. Due to his actions against Shadow, the Angel was cast from heaven. The Demon was already banned from hell.

The two were so busy with their war, that they forgot about the war. It ended in the Humans victory, all Monsters, including Shadow, were entrapped Underground, a barrier of seven souls surrounding them. For Shadow, this was bad. Not only would he see his never see his beloved Demon again, but Monsters weren't as bountiful as Humans, and not all of them had wicked souls. He didn't know how he was going to survive his prison. He almost didn't... but then the first Human fell. Perhaps there was hope for the Skeleton yet.

By the time the Demon and the Angel realized that Shadow was gone, it was too late. The barrier was to strong for either to break through. They knew one thing for certain. The barrier would break eventually. They had to be ready for when it did. So they made groups of others. Killer's or beings that didn't belong on Earth. The Moonshadows and The Command.
