Back Again
Sans didn't know what he was supposed to expect. He was mortal, he could tire, he could die. Hell, he was dying right now. Things had been great in the beginning. He didn't give Zalgo an opening to him. He'd just fired blaster after blaster, threw bone after bone. He thought he was winning. But... apparently Angels, like Demons, don't have a soul. His KR, and blue soul magic was his ultimate weapon, without a soul to destroy with KR though... he was useless. Fighting back was USELESS. It was then that the tides had turned. He was suddenly on the offensive, ducking, dodging, teleporting away from Zalgo's attacks while the Slenderman tried to protect him from them. But they couldn't keep up. Now, here Sans was... dying. Floating aimlessly in the dark, waiting for the last of his determination to give out. "why did i ever think i could win against the likes of him, anyway?" He asked himself in the darkness of... whatever this place was. Seriously, was it the Void or something? "That is correct. This is The Void, the place all Cursed Souls go after their demise." A voice replied. Sans blinked disbelievingly at the Skeletons before him.
Wingdings Gaster and Gill Sans Shadow.
💀💀💀
"what the fu-" Shadow shook his head disapprovingly. "Not in my presence you don't." Sans closed his mouth. "Sans. Son. Do you know why I ran those experiments on you now? Why I gave you determination?" Wingdings asked. "i, you... were preparing me for the curse." Sans replied. "Yes, exactly." Shadow nodded approvingly. "You were, no, WILL be the last to hold the Judge's Curse. With your determination and the determination of all the collected souls..." Shadow trailed off. "i can't! i can't the kid has it, and pap- of stars, pap!" Sans gripped his skull as he realized Papyrus now would bear the damned curse. Wingdings growled and grabbed Sans by the shoulders in a firm grip. "It's not to late, Sans. The brat no longer has the reset option anymore and you aren't dead yet. Stay determined boy." Sans looked wearily at his father. "even if i did have it, wouldn't this all happen again?" Shadow shook his head. "Our theory is that with the magic you possess and the determination of the souls you've taken, you could alter the timeline to reflect what you want it to be."
💀💀💀
They faded after that, leaving him in the dark once again. He was still trying to wrap his head around the having reset and altering the timeline thing. If he COULD do that, and that was a HUGE if, what would he even shape it to look like? But wait, how did that make him the last holder? "dammit! i should've asked while i had the chance!" Sans groaned. He heaved a sigh. "well... maybe slender will know?" He closed his sockets, focused on the souls within him, scraped up the last of his determination. "just this once... i have to do it just this once..." He cracked open a socket, then they both went wide as a reset button with various different colors hovered before him. He really could... ever so hesitantly, he lifted his hand to the button. He looked deep in thought, trying to think of how he wanted this time to be. The colors were overwhelmed by the cyan and yellow of his magic. Then, tentatively, he pressed the reset option and he was blinking his sockets open to his bedroom.
