Chapter Thirteen
Deidre
For a moment that morning everything was perfect. The came her aching back from the hard floor, and then the realization of being in a dress. On the floor.
"Ugh." She groaned and sat up against the bed frame, glancing over at Simon who seemed to have woken up a few minutes before her.
"Good morning." He said, yawned, stood up, and stretched.
"'Morning. I wasn't expecting to spend the night here. Aren't we supposed to be back by now?" Her stomach dropped. Her mother could be waking up without her, her mother might be trying to Spoil herself.
"Me either. We don't even have anything to change into." Simon noted and Deidre nodded towards the wide wardrobe in the corner.
"They might have something in that, if guests were coming." She suggested.
"Maybe." Simon walked over to the wardrobe and opened it easily.
He widened it and sighed in relief. There were clothes for both of them, suits on the left and dresses on the right.
Someone knocked on the door and Deidre stood up to get it. She grabbed the knob the same time Simon did.
They glanced at each other and twisted it open. The door opened towards them slowly.
On the other side was a man in a suit and had lighter hair and bright blue eyes, meaning he wasn't with the rest they had encountered.
"Good morning, I'm Robert Calesteno." He had a thick British accent and held out his hand.
"Oh hi I'm Deidre." Deidre was glad for a friendly face.
"Simon Wright." Simon shook Robert's hand.
"I apologize my wife isn't able to come meet you, she's already made her way down to breakfast. We're representatives from the United Kingdom and it seems like only you two and is have stayed since last nights incident." His eyes widened. "You know, the rebel incident."
"We're the representatives from Canada." Simon said and Deidre found herself not feeling anymore guilt when hearing it.
"Yes, yes of course. We were wondering if you'd like to join us on our way down to the Dining Hall for breakfast? We heard it's your first time with this whole representative business and we thought we'd like to show you your way around." Robert offered.
"Yes that'd be great. What room are you? We've got to just clean up a bit." Deidre blushed lightly at realizing that they'd slept late.
"Two doors down." Robert pointed, smiled a goodbye, and walked back towards his room as Deidre shut the door behind him.
"I'll change in the bathroom, knock on the door when you're decent again." Deidre grabbed the dress in front and black flats underneath it.
