Lost Senpai [Nijimura Shuuzou]
Being in the United States, Nijimura was barely getting his surroundings. To make matters worse, he managed to get lost in Los Angeles. He ran into Himuro Tatsuya earlier, but he had to leave.
I can't believe I'm lost in the biggest city ever! Nijimura groaned in frustration. He had been walking for almost three hours, and now he was passing some Japanese part of the huge city.
He rolled his eyes at the American-iced Japanese store names. He walked through the arches and into an underground passage.
The passage was full of people, and he passed by a cosplay store and a
Lolita vendor. People of all ages and ethnicities were shuffling with bags full of wigs and t-shirts.
What is this place? It's so weird. Hopefully I don't look out of place.
He wandered around and went into a store called "Anime Jungle."*
"Hello, sir! Welcome to Anime Jungle. Please take your time, and the books over there are on sale. 50% off each!" an employee smiled at Nijimura.
He nodded back and entered. He was never in such a place. It was just as foreign as the city he was in, except he could read most of the manga authors' signatures on the wall.
"Are you looking for anything in particular?" Nijimura jumped and saw a petite girl in the employee uniform.
She was holding boxes of figurines in one hand and packaged manga volumes in the other.
"N-no. I'm okay. Thank you..." He turned away, but the employee stuck by his side.
"Okay, and I'm [Name] by the way. If
you need my help, just ask me." She smiled and walked away to a shelf.
Nijimura stayed in the anime shop for a while, debating whether or not to ask [Name] for help.
He needed it, but was too afraid to ask. Especially if it wasn't related to buying stuff.
[Name] noticed him and approached him. "You've been here for awhile. Are you sure you don't need help?"
Nijimura nodded. "A-actually, I am not from here. I am a little...lost."
"Not from here? Are you a foreigner?"
He nodded, and [Name] giggled. "Okay, okay. My shift is done in fifteen. Just hang out here, and I'll help you out."
When her shift was done, [Name] walked out with Nijimura close by her side.
"So, where are you from?"
"Japan."
"That's cool. Why are you in L.A?"
"My father is sick, and I came here to stay with him. I am supposed to live in this...city, but I got lost."
[Name] nodded. "It can get sorta complicated here. But, I'll help you."
Nijimura bowed down in the middle of the sidewalk. "Thank you so much!"
They walked down the streets until they reached [Name]'s car.
They got in, putting on their seat-belts. Nijimura thought it was strange to be receiving help from a stranger. To be in the same car with them, and to trust them?
He glanced at [Name]. "Can I...trust you?" he asked. [Name], who had just pulled out and was now dealing with LA traffic, giggled.
"You told me why you were here in LA, and you followed me to my car. I think you can trust me."
Nijimura smiled and sighed. "Okay, I just wanted to know for sure." He paused. "Do you trust me?"
[Name] nodded. "Of course I do. You're nice and handsome. You're a foreigner, and I'm glad to help you."
They drove with simple conversations; [Name] even taught him some English slang that would be helpful in Los Angeles.
Finally, they came to Nijimura's apartment. She walked him to his door, to ensure his safety. Nijimura grinned and thanked [Name].
"It's late. You can stay here with me for the night."
"I'm okay, but thanks."
"It's not safe in Los Angeles at night for a cute girl like you. Please. For your safety."
[Name] bit her lip. "Um... I don't know..."
Nijimura pulled her inside. "It is okay. Just for tonight. You can sleep on the bed, and I'll take the floor."
Reluctantly, [Name] followed him inside. Nijimura closed the door, and they both stared at the ground awkwardly.
[Name] looked up into his eyes. "Uh... Nijimura?" He glanced up at her and stared at her eyes.
He smiled and brought her into a hug. "Thank you for finding me and bringing me home safely." It was the tenth time he had thanked her that night.
"You're welcome," replied [Name].
"But..." Nijimura leaned forward. "I might get lost in your eyes again."
"Me too..." [Name] pressed her lips onto his. "But, I don't mind getting lost with you."
