Foreign Exchange [Wei Liu]

[Name]'s fingers trembled as she held the note in her hand. Why did she have to move classes? Apparently her original class was full, but she clearly saw five seats open. They just didn't have room for her, huh?

She took a deep breath, hoping to calm herself. Opening the door, she was greeted with shadows. Dark, tall shadows that cast away any light threatening to come in. She jumped a little.

"Oh, are you the new transfer student from Class 4-B? Please come in, and join the class." She walked in and noticed that the teacher looked quite small compared to the rest of the class. "Class, this is [Full Name]. Please welcome her into our class."

The entire class applauded, and [Name] was able to find a seat. She sat in the back and couldn't see over this one particular student. He was clearly over six feet tall, and [Name] pitied herself.

Back in her old classroom, she had the perfect seat, best of friends, and coolest teacher. Now she couldn't even read the board with this extremely tall person in front of her.

[Name] leaned over and tapped him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, um... Can you lean over a little? I can't really see from back here."

He turned around and sighed. "Since you are a new student in this class, I guess." He shifted his chair a little, giving [Name] a narrow path to the board.

[Name] flashed him a smile. "Thank you," she whispered. She pulled out her notebook to begin class.

"Wei Liu? You aren't Japanese?" asked [Name] during lunch. She had ran into the student who sat in front of her.

"No, I am an exchange student from China. I came here to play baskeball, too."

[Name] sat at the same table as Wei. "So, we're the same. Like exchange-wise. That's cool. We have something in common." She smiled at him and picked at the baby corn stir fry they were having that lunch period.

"I guess. If you look at it like that. Why did you transfer classes? Request?" asked Wei. He ran his finger over the rim of his cup.

"No, apparently there was no room in that class, so they kicked me out. Although there were open seats clearly available. I don't know, but it was so sudden that I wasn't prepared," explained [Name].

Wei nodded. They ate their lunch quietly for a few minutes, but [Name] couldn't last that long. "I'm sorry. It's just too quiet." She giggled.

"It's okay," replied Wei plainly. "My Japanese isn't that good, so I'm not very fond of conversations."

[Name] furrowed her brow. "I think your Japanese is pretty good. I'm no expert in Japanese, but it is splendid!" She smiled at him again.

After lunch, [Name] followed Wei around. "I have to go to practice now, so I think it's best if you leave," said Wei blandly.

[Name] gasped dramatically. "You don't want me anymore? Come on, let me see this one practice. I've finally made a friend in this new class, so let me at least see what you do afterschool?"

Wei sighed. "Fine, but you'll have to help with the equipment."

They entered the gym after he changed out of his uniform into his practice gear. He tossed [Name] an empty water bottle. "Fill this up, please." [Name] nodded and watched as Wei went into the group of extremely tall men.

Her heart jumped for some reason. The walk to the fountain seemed so long, even though it was only a few meters away. She was suddenly so nervous, and there was nothing logical to back up these foreign feelings.

"Wei-chin? Who's that girl in our gym?" Murasakibara yawned lazily. Wei looked over his shoulder and saw [Name] come back to the bleachers, sitting and waiting for him after practice.

"She's a girl in my class. Her smile is cute."

Wei walked [Name] home since she didn't live too far from the school. It was a quiet walk, but it was one that was slightly comforting. "You're really good at basketball. I wish I could play."

"You should. I can show you."

[Name]'s eyes sparkled. "Really?" They reached her doorstep. She grinned. "Thanks for walking me home... And letting me see you play." she quickly added.

Her face was slowly reddening, and she tried to look away. He gave her a pat on the head.

"No problem." He leaned over and gave her a small peck on her heated cheeks. "That means a lot, by the way, in many countries. Figure it out."

He left [Name] there on her doorstep, pondering what that kiss meant.
