Chapter 4: The Sacrifice

Pheobe sat on her bed, not knowing what to do until she decided to to the most inevitable thing - look for her ex-boyfriend and not mope around all say, waiting for his death.

"I need some time with him," Pheobe said quite calmly, staring Ariana in the eyes. Ariana shrugged and let the brunette leave.

"You do that. Say your goodbyes since you're still so deeply in love with him," Arianna said with a smirk, emphasizing the word deeply sarcastically. She wanted to have the last word  she's always wanted to have the last word.

At Liam's house
Ariana had been walking to Liam's home but hadn't quite remembered where it was ever since their break-up so she roamed the area until she noticed the street Liam lived in, Oak Street, seeing the blue stamp on the side of the road with its name written on it in black colouring. A smile emerged on the face of the witch.

She turned her attention back to getting to Liam's home, and walked to a house with light-blue colouring. It was a simple, beautiful home, obviously happier than both Pheobe's adoptive and biological family. Phoebe sighed but quickly smiled when a middle-aged woman noticed her from one of the windows of the house, signalling her to come over to her. Pheobe did exactly that.

The woman quickly walked down the stairs to let Pheobe in. "Thank you Mrs. Reynolds." Pheobe smiled, walking into her house and taking a seat on a grey couch. Mrs Reynolds smiled back at her, taking a seat next to the brunette.

"Well, it's always nice to see one of Liam's friends around, especially you. Are you back together? I've been wondering ever since I saw you that morning," Mrs. Wheeler said, the smile still stuck on her face, clearly hoping that the two rekindled their relationship.

"What morning?" Pheobe wondered to her self but shrugged it off realising the woman had been staring at her with concern. "It nothing serious. Speaking of Liam, where is he? Is he home?" Pheobe asked the woman.

"He said he was at your house. Is he okay? Has something happened, love?" Mrs. Reynolds asked with even more concern in her voice. Pheobe sighed. He must've not wanted his family knowing and needed a place to turn. She had to help him.

"Of course. I must have forgotten. It was nice seeing you, Mrs. Reynolds," She quickly replied, trying not to worry Liam's mother.

The lady smiled in relief. "Then you must be on your way now. I've got somewhere to be as well. I guess I really love full moons," Mrs. Reynolds said, clearly also in a rush to go somewhere. Pheobe smiled and left to find Liam, gently closing the door and sighed trying to figure out where Liam would've gone until it dawned on her. She had guessed that the only other place he could go was the woods, where it all began, where all their lives changed.

The Woods
Pheobe exited her lava-red car and turned on her flashlight to search for her ex-boyfriend until she heard cries not far from where she was. As she followed the cries, she saw him, Liam in a more emotional state than she had ever seen him. He had been sitting against a tree, his hands tightly around his legs and his head buried into his knees as he had clearly been crying. Pheobe couldn't help but feel for her ex-boyfriend, noting that many have said the transformation can be quite painful.

She slowly wake over to him and touched his shivering shoulder, making him quickly jump up. He wiped his tears but still couldn't hide the fact that he was crying. He was never one to let people see him cry, let alone his ex-girlfriend. "What are you doing here? Leave now, Pheobe!" He shouted at her, quickly identifying her as his ex-girlfriend and not her.

"Liam, I'm here to help you. I've read everything that has to do with werewolves in here," She said, pulling a small, brown book, seemingly an old diary out of a small bag.

"You can't help me. Pheobe, all of this is crazy. I'm scared! Scared of breaking every single bone in my body, scared of hurting innocent people and not even knowing it, scared of being killed again and-" Liam went on but stopped, not wanting to finish his statement, turning his face away from Pheobe's infatuating eyes.

"And what?" Pheobe asked curiously, trying to make him look her in the eye.

"Scared of you seeing me as a monster," Liam said silently with a sigh gaining another sympathetic look from Pheobe. He sat back down, again trying to avoid Pheobe.

"As I said, l'm here to help, not to judge you, Liam," Pheobe said sympathetically making Liam slightly smile, despite not wanting to. "You'll probably need these," she said, walking back to her car with a medium-sized bottle of green-ish, acidic liquid and large, silver chains. Liam's eyes widened at the materials she had been carrying. "Trust me, wolfsbane makes it easier and well, we don't want you running off and terrorising innocents," Pheobe smiled, holding up the chains for Liam.

"Fine. Give me the bottle. How bad could this small trinket possibly be?" Liam grunted. Pheobe shrugged and gave him the bottle of wolfbane, Liam opening it quickly and gobbling some of it up, immediately spitting it out. "Bloody hell!" He shouted, Pheobe laughing at him tremendously. He rolled his eyes and took at deep breath before drinking it all, as to his dismay.

three hours later
Pheobe had drifted off to sleep waiting for Liam to turn but quickly woke up after hearing his screams. She realised that he started to turn. He had been lying on the floor until his hands began to break, getting bent and his fingers bending together into what seemed to be wolf paws. His legs and toes having the same effect. His head was lowed for the entire time until he rose it up once more, his now yellow-ish eyes staring at Pheobe. "Leave!" He shouted at her, not wanting to hurt her as he could feel the chains getting looser.

"No. I said I'd help you so let me help you, Liam," Pheobe said, quite determined to help her ex-boyfriend. Liam said nothing but only screamed in pain after his transformation continued, his body completely furry and his mouth now like that of a wolf's mouth. Pheobe wanted to look away but couldn't.

In his wolf form, Liam had been trying to escape but was failing as Pheobe made sure he was contained with a barrier spell just in case he escaped. He had tried to attack her all night long while Pheobe sat on another tree, observing him and couldn't help but feel intrigued, not scared but simply intrigued.

He kept trying to escape but the chains were too strong only making him angrier. Pheobe began to feel sorry for him and decided to get up. She walked slowly towards him in order to not alarm him but as she was extremely close to the howling wolf, she couldn't feel her body. She was intrigued by him making her softly and carefully stroke his fur. She smiled at him and he had calmed down, both surprising and making her smile larger.

"You're not so bad, wolfie." Pheobe smiled, still stroking his hair until he suddenly became angry again, trying to take a bite at Phoebe once more, Pheobe quickly jumping away from his, out of the salt-surrounded barrier that had been keeping him away from her. "Or not," she said unable to catch her breath and sighed, sitting back down to where she previously was, still taken by the wolf even though she probably should've been afraid of him.

After more hours of keeping him in check, Liam calmed down, she could tell that he was turning back as his bones began to retake the form of a human. He finished turning back and was completely naked making Pheobe quickly throw new clothes to him after taking a quick glance at his body. It was very awkward for both of them. They stayed in silence for a while as they were heading back to the car.

"You weren't scared," Liam softly said with a small smile on his face, causing Pheobe to stop walking.

"Why would I be?" Pheobe asked.

"Well, it's just that I was a man-eating monster for like 3 hours or more constantly trying to take a bite at you." Liam joked.

"You don't scare me. I love you too much to be scared," Pheobe blurted out and looked down awkwardly, clearly embarrassed.

"No, you don't. I'm just the idiot who broke up with you," Liam said as his voice cracked. He wondered why in the world someone as kind as her would still love him and his shitty behavior.

Pheobe sighed and grabbed his hand pulling him to her. "Yes, I do," Pheobe said softly. The two stared into each other's eyes as they both slowly leaned into a deep, passionate kiss, holding each other tightly.

A voice suddenly spoke up, ruining their moment. "Oh my God, you two. Literal relationship goals," Ariana squealed jokingly, causing both Liam and Pheobe to grunt. "I'm sorry to end your little makeout session, but we have a merge to do," Ariana added walking over to a protective Liam, shoving him into a portal. She gave Pheobe a fake smile and followed Liam into the portal.

At Phoebe home
Ariana warped Liam to Pheobe's home to ensure that all the ingredients were available. Liam sat in fear before noticing Lisa's presence. "You know about all of this? Are you being held hostage?" Liam asked with concern, flustering Lisa who didn't even realise the boy ever notices her.

"No, I'm helping her," Lisa sighed as she knew that due to many laws, if Phoebe and Ariana don't get merged soon, they'll both die. She was more or less like a supernatural geek.

Liam stared at her in confusion, and concern at the same time before Pheobe came running in, bringing a bright smile onto his glum face. "There's someone else we can sacrifice!" She said whilst holding up a picture of an average looking man with sore eyes and a small beard.

"Wait just one second. We're sacrificing someone?" Liam asked, his eyes wide in surprise of what his ex-girlfriend had said.

"And what makes this guy a fitting sacrifice?" Ariana asked, her arms crossed and her left eyebrow raised at her suggestion.

"How did you find him?" Lisa asked as well, equally confused. Liam hadn't known what in the world was happening.

"Well, he has a YouTube channel, where he discusses how all the supernatural, going from witches to demon's are real but everyone calls his an idiotic, crazy man. He's also a recently turned werewolf and made a new video about him wanting to commit suicide so I figured we can utilize this?" Pheobe asked as she could feel her voice crack at the suggestion she had just made, willing to sacrifice someone else for Liam. She wondered what that said about her.

"Okay, but What about the someone you love issue?" Lisa asked with concern. She would do anything to make sure Pheobe stays alive, even if she has to be the sacrifice.

"Ugh, fine. I've got that covered, trust me," Ariana said, smirking.

"And you are coming with me, young lady." She added with a wink to Lisa before pulling her into a portal, Lisa caught off guard by Ariana.

A. N: how was the chapter? Again, is it worth continuing because it takes time to think of interesting plots. Any advice or requests?
