S2C Chapter 58: Is Land
Wake up, samurai. I have finally returned after a LONG hiatus, and I feel like utter trash (on top of the fact that I have had a really bad day). This is the longest break I've taken without a chapter and I feel upset at myself. I've been busy with many things, and on top of the fact that I REALLY didn't like how the last chapter turned out, I feel like that was just insult to injury. But I feel like I may just delete it or leave it in as bad filler, while this is is the beginning of "season 3" if you will.
Anyways, enough of my self-pity, I just want to say, if you're reading this, thank you for sticking with this story and dealing with me.
Marie POV
Callie: Marie, I'm boooooored.
Marie: Well, what do you have in mind besides just doing a headstand all day?
Callie was upside down on her head, with plenty of ink rushed to her head.
Callie: Well-
She fell straight forward, right on her face. Marie was a bit surprised and was going to go over and help her before Callie lifted her head up causing Marie to sigh.
Callie: What about if we go somewhere?
Marie took a sip from her cocoa.
Marie: Like Pearl's house?
Callie: No, I mean like a vacation.
Marie: Okay then, where do you wanna go? Paris?
Callie: No, we've been there before, and it'll probably be cold there right now anyways.
Marie: Then I don't know what you want me to do, Callie.
Callie: Can you try to figure something out?
Marie: Callie, I can't-
She looked down at Callie to see Callie was giving her big puppy-dog eyes. She knew Callie was just trying to guilt her into doing it, but she knew it would work.
Marie: Fine, I'll see what I can do.
Callie: Yay!
Callie ran up to Marie and hugged her.
Callie: Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
Marie: Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm great. Now let me go see what I can do.
Marie left the room, leaving Callie to sit on the couch, upside down, while she waited for Marie to find out what they were going to do.
~~~
(Y/N) POV
(Y/N): You have your jackets?
Marina: Yep.
(Y/N): You got your snow boots?
Pearl lifts up one of her feet to show she's wearing big boots.
Pearl: I've got my booties.
(Y/N): You both had breakfast?
Marina: Of course we did.
(Y/N): You on time?
Pearl: Not for much longer if you keep going through everything.
(Y/N): Okay, okay, I get it.
He chuckled as he walked the two out the front door.
(Y/N): Have a good day at work you two.
Marina: We will. And thanks again for putting up the decorations around here while we're at work.
(Y/N): No problem.
Pearl: Just don't break anything while we're gone.
(Y/N): Of course not, because I can reach the high stuff.
Pearl: Hey!
She lightly hit him in the side, causing him to laugh a bit.
(Y/N): Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Pearl: You're dang right you are.
Marina: Okay, well, we seriously need to get going now.
(Y/N): Okay, I'll see you two later.
The two then left as (Y/N) shut the door and went to the storage room to bring out the decorations. He got the lights up around the outside of the house before getting a call from Marie.
~~~
Marina POV
Marina and Pearl were walking up to the door.
Marina: The lights look nice.
Pearl: Yeah, hopefully the inside looks as nice as the outside.
Marina unlocked the door and when they walked in, they saw some boxes full of the decorations and nothing inside was decorated.
Pearl: What the heck? Did he flake on us?
Marina: Hang on, let me call him.
She called him but it went straight to voicemail.
Marina: No answer.
Pearl: I found a note from him over here.
Pearl picked up the letter off of the kitchen counter.
Marina: What does it say?
Pearl: He left.
Marina: Does it say where?
Pearl turned the note around to reveal it said: "I left -From (Y/N) <3."
Marina: Well that note is very helpful.
Marina rolled her eyes.
~~~
(Y/N), along with the others on the plane, turned their phones on airplane mode.
(Y/N): (I hope my note was helpful.)
Callie leaned over into (Y/N)'s seat.
Callie: Have you ever rode in first class before, (Y/N)?
(Y/N): I've never even been on a plane before, let alone a private plane.
Marie: Then you should have fun. Each seat even has its own movie screening for you to watch.
Callie: And don't forget the inflight service!
Just as she said that, one of the flight attendants walks up beside Callie's seat to hold out the food Callie ordered. Callie smiled and thanked her and she took the food tray.
(Y/N): Seriously girls, thanks for inviting me.
Marie: Seriously, it was no problem. Callie wanted to go somewhere so I looked around and found out her and I still had free tickets to this place, plus a plus one. Callie wanted to invite you.
Callie: You're welcome!
(Y/N): So, where is this place anyway?
The pilot's speaker came on as they notified them that they'd be landing soon and that they could see the resort out the right-side windows. (Y/N) and Callie both looked out the window as Marie answered his question with a smirk.
Marie: An island resort.
~~~
The three of them walked out of the terminal to be met with the guide.
???: Hello, my name is Christian, and I'll be your guide, and may I just say that I am a huge fan of the squid sisters.
Callie: We appreciate it a lot!
Marie: So, tell us, what all does this island have?
Christian: Many things! We have a multitude of restaurants, a water park, some gardens, the beach, everything that can bring excitement and relaxation to your vacation.
(Y/N): Sounds like paradise.
Christian: Which is exactly what we strive to go for, so thank you for saying so! Now, if you'd all be so kind as to follow me to the special place you three shall be staying at.
(Y/N): We aren't staying in the big hotel?
Christian: Not at all! You three were given special access to our wonderful resort, so you three are V.I.P.s. And as V.I.P.s, you get to stay in our special resort beach houses!
Christian made sure to put some pizzaz into his speech, sounding like a game show host half the time, which (Y/N) and Callie seemed to find funny. He led them all down the path, pointing out the tall waterslide that amazed Callie, the exotic fish tanks that go right into the restaurants, and then they eventually got down the road to the big, beach houses.
Marie: Not bad.
Callie & (Y/N): WOAH!
Christian: I know, right? Only the best for our tourists! Now, let me unlock the door to your beach house so you can all gasp even more.
As he did so, it revealed the distinct architecture of the outside was matched by that of the indoors. The stairs were made up of tiles attached to the wall on one side, and hanging from the ceiling on the other side. The living room was spacious with a wooden floor, big TV, and rounded couch, along with a door that led out to a balcony that overlooked the beach and the ocean, and part of the water park.
Callie and (Y/N) both were in awe at it, even Marie looked a bit impressed, but she could hold back her expression better.
Christian: Yes, quite grand, isn't it?
(Y/N): I'll say!
Christian laughed a bit.
Christian: Now, if there's anything you need, you can ask any number of our employees around the island, if not then ask for me directly, and I'll be there in a jiffy to help you. Now, if that will be all, I wish you all a great trip, tata!
The three said goodbye to him and then he was gone, leaving the three to really fully explore the house.
Marie: First, we should get our sleeping arrangements sorted out.
Callie: I'll share a bed with (Y/N)!
(Y/N) poked his head out from upstairs.
(Y/N): Actually, it looks like there's more than enough rooms for all of us.
Callie: So?
Marie: Callie...
Callie: What? I'm just kidding, Marie, no need to be so sour.
After they got the situations of the house sorted out, the three just relaxed in the living room for a while, watching a show that they found enjoyable enough on the television. Then, (Y/N) decided to walk out onto the balcony and really take in the sight as the sun was setting right there on the ocean horizon, which was definitely only part of the reason this place was called a "paradise."
