(Susie's P.O.V)

"OH MY GOSH! I can't believe my little sister's finally coming to Inkopolis with me!" My older sister Ikami beamed as she gave me a tight hug which felt like it would crush me any second now." You're gonna love it there!"

"Sis, y-you can let me go now!" I stuttered as I was running out of breath.

"Mom and Dad are gonna love hearing this! Tomorrow morning, you're gonna look just like I am! Oh I bet you'll look amazing! The anticipation's killing me!" she said with a cheeky grin."I know you'll love Inkopolis. Who wouldn't want to be there?"

Word has it that Inkopolis has had mysterious mishaps. Things are getting weirder and weirder everyday. My parents thought it would be a good idea to stay there for the summer because they were convinced that we would be safe in Inkopolis Square after a three year wait. My sister tagged along with me to attend this year's annual Turf War Championship.

My mom's words of motivation ran through my mind. "Don't worry if you lose. What matters is that you're having fun. Your father and I will be proud of you no matter what you do." she'd say.

"Yeah, but what if I'm not good enough? What if I'm one of those squid kids who get carried around all the time? What if I can't make any friends? What if I-"

Iki pressed her index finger softly on my lips as a sign of telling me to shut up. "Shhh, don't speak any more negative words. Think positive! You should be excited about this!"

She gave me a second to relax. I sighed. "I'll try." I said, trying to show a light smile.

"That's the spirit! And I'll be there to make sure our summer goes by smoothly. You won't have to worry about anything, but if you ask me, i think you're gonna be alright."

Nodding my head, a yawn slipped out afterward.

"You gotta go to sleep, sis. I'll see you in the morning." Ikami added. The door to my bedroom was creaked open as she twist the door handle. "Goodnight! Tomorrow we'll be at the top of The Reef!" she beamed, closing the door behind her as she stepped out.

I walked over to my neatly organized bed and sighed, placing my hands on my face. I planted my face on top of my sky blue blanket exhausted.

I'm gonna have one shell of a day...

The next morning - 8:00 a.m.

"Wakey wakey my little Sushi Roll!"

I could hear a soft voice speaking to me. I was feeling exhausted to even move my little squid limbs.

"Five more minutes..." I groaned. A few seconds after, I realized that I had saliva all over my pillow. I opened my eyes slightly to see a woman smiling with joy that was none other than my mom. "Hey mom." I smiled faintly.

"Happy Birthday, sweetie!" she said. "Ready to be a squid kid?"

I turned into my squid form. "Not quite." I smiled. "Can you carry me around? That'll give me time to think about it."

"Nice try. Get your butt up! It's your day. You don't want to waste it do you?"

I shook my head.

"Well come on then! Your father and Iki are waiting downstairs on the birthday girl!"

We both walked downstairs. Thoughts ran through my mind. It felt like everything would happen so fast and I had no idea why. Closer to the living room, I could see a stream of balloons hanging on the ceiling. I felt myself bursting with excitement.

"SURPRISE, SHELL SHOCKER!"

My eyes widened as both my sister and my dad came to me with open arms. My mom followed along. I thanked them all and hugged them.

"Thank you guys! You're the best!" I smiled.

A cake was set on the dining table. My inner hunger senses were tingling. We all celebrated a mini birthday blast.

My parents used to tell me that on every tiny squid's birthday, they would turn into a squid (of course), but if the sun has risen over Inkopolis tower, over the Great Zapfish, then they were destined to be special.

That's just a myth though...

Or is it...

I was alarmed by a tremble in my arms and feet. I felt dazed and my back was hurting a bit.

"G-Guys...?" I mumbled as I placed my hand over my forehead.

My mom's eyes were wide open in shock. "Billie, get the camera! It's happening, hurry up!" she shouted to my dad ecstatically.

He rushed off as fast as he could.

Concern was written all over Ikami's face. "Mom, is she okay?" she asked.

"This rarely happens to any squid! Susie isn't transforming like a normal inkling would."

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

"Good! We need to let her face this on her own." My mom answered as she faced me."Honey, I need you to brace yourself for a bit longer, okay? You're going to be fine."

My father came back with the camera recording me.

*POOF*

My entire body was transformed into kid form. Smiles were lit up in front of me. I beamed, a few tears of joy escaping my eyes. My family hugged me again when suddenly...

YOU'RE A KID NOW! YOU'RE A SQUID NOW! YOU'RE A KID! YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID! YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID NOOOOOOWWWWW-

My alarm was on. I jumped in surprise. "OH MY GOSH!" I blurted out, quickly turning it off.

Perfect timing...

Everyone looked at each other, then at me and laughed. I laughed as well.

The bus to Inkopolis was coming in 30 minutes. Iki and I had to make sure we had our stuff packed up for the summer stay. After awhile, we all said our goodbyes.

The bus finally came. I could hear music coming from there, but it was unfamiliar to me of who was singing on the station.

"That doesn't sound like Callie or Marie, sis."I told Iki. "Or...any band we've listened to actually."

"Oh you'll find out soon my dear." She winked.

We all walked outside. The bus was waiting on us. Our parents looked at the both of us, my mom with a proud look, my dad with a smile.

"We want you guys to remember," my dad spoke. "never let anyone get the best of you, okay? Remember to always stay strong no matter what challenge you're faced with."

"And we'll always be right here rooting for you. We love you both." my mom added. "Go rule the world!"

We gave them one last hug. We entered the bus filled with a whole crowd of squid kids.

Meanwhile...

My dad eyed my mom. "We're good parents aren't we, Angie?"

"Yeah...we really are." she answered as she gave my dad a kiss on the cheek.

- On the bus -

"WOOMY!"

The sound came from a random inkling girl. Eyes were all on us. Commotion roamed the bus.

What a crowd...

Iki nudged my arm."Check out this little dude." she whispered as she looked down at a sea cucumber.

"Ello lasses! Welcome aboard on our one way Inkopolis train ride. My name is C.Q. Cucumber. I believe a birthday is set today upon one of you as it says on my list today, correct?"

"That would be me..." I answered shyly. "Susie Ray. This is my sister, Ikami Ray."

"I see...Well happy birthday to you, lass. Take a seat in the back you two then off we go to the city of dreams."

We both nodded and scooted to the back of the bus.
A boy with wild green hair eyed me and Iki for at least five seconds. Iki didn't notice it. I just ignored it and continued on.

The train conductor made an announcement. "Happy Birthday to Susie Ray! May your day be filled with best wishes. Enjoy the ride!"

Everyone cheered and sung the usual happy birthday song. I couldn't have felt more comfortable at this moment.

"So, you ready for the Big Leagues?" Iki asked.

I smiled confidently. "I was born ready, sis!"

Off we went. Every second we were getting closer and closer to Inkopolis. I felt like I was ready for anything.

HELLO MY LOVELIES!!! Back at you again with the official new Splatoon sequel. Hopefully all turns out well with this one. I got a good feeling about it. The chapters will be extra due to -SPOILERS THAT SHOULDN'T BE MENTIONED RIGHT NOW-
