"HEY YOU GUYS!" I heard a soft feminine voice shout. That person was none other than Vadelma. She was walking towards us along with Sharl.

"Hey, you guys ready to go?" I asked. The two squids nodded their heads. We all headed towards the Battle Lobby...well...a broken down Battle Lobby...

When we entered, a big furry Judd was standing near the entrance. He was surprised to see is all for some reason."Well I'll be! I didn't think that anymore squid kids would be coming by here today. There have only been a few I've sern today. The other squids have been preparing for school tomorrow."

Evan blinked twice."Really?"

"Well it may have a bit to do with the destruction of this place. I've hired some workers to check on all of the battlefields and fix the spawn points. All of the spawn points have been fixed and fully recharged. The battlefields; however, have a bit of damaged areas, but you should be fine." Judd smiled.

"Thank you so much, Judd!" Vadelma beamed. This was actually good for us. No one's even here right now. Perfect!

"Also, I had a feeling this would happen someday, so one of my workers expanded a few spawn points for more players. Purrrrfect plan am I right?" Judd asked."Now if you'll excuse me, my job as referee must be done." he said as he walked off.

"To be honest, you guys...I'm just not feeling the urge to do a turf war today. I have to prepare for school tomorrow and you guys would be too." Marine said.

"C'mon, Marine. Just one turf battle! Then we'll go back to Flounder Heights." Tanrine smiled.

Flounder Heights is the name of the hotel we stay in. Squid kids around the world come to Inkopolis to battle each other in turf wars. Since some people have trouble coming to the city everyday, the people decided to make a hotel.

Tanrine began making a puppy eyed face."Pretty please?" Marine folded her arms."I hate it when you make that face. Fine, just one turf war then I'm done for the day."

Our teams were chosen. Pretty much all of us were able to do the turf since there was no one else was around. I'm surprised that Judd had time to do this. I'm even more surprised at how fast they were finished with repairing the spawn points.

The colors pink and cyan were being used for this turf war. Me, Soup, Riley, Tanerine, Angelo, Taloupe, and Sharl were on team cyan while the others were on the pink. It was 7 against 6 which is an advantage, but who knows what Marine and her team have up their sleeves.

"Whoa! Moray Towers is huge!" I said excitedly.

"Yeah, this place is pretty awesome! You've been missing out on some pretty good moments..." Soup smiled. Riley knew what he was talking about and started to blush a little. She turned around trying to hide her smile. She looked down at a large highway."Dear god..."

Soup walked over to her. "I'm pretty sure you won't have to worry about anything this time, Riley. I've got your back."He winked.

"Thanks, Soup..."

3, 2, 1 GO! The teams were off. I decided on using a charger today. Our last battle of the summer was the one that made everything worth while.

After a while, the half of the battlefield was covered with pink ink. There were a lot of secret places to hide. A squid could easily attack me at any moment.

"WHA-"

SPLOOSH!

SPLAT!

Angelo was hiding inside his ink on a wall. He shot me with his ink at the moment when my guard was down. Maybe I was in for a bigger challenge than I bargained for...

Using a splat charger wasn't that hard. It only shoots straight forward though. It made me wonder how Lucas was doing on his team.

Lucas's P.O.V.

The thought that crossed my mind was what I would do when I saw Mindy. I didn't even think about this at first. I judt can't splat her... She means a lot to me more than ever! It'd just be wrong...

Oh crud what do I do? If I splat my girlfriend she'll probably get mad at me, but if I don't, then my wholr team is gonna blame me for it. I've gotta think...

I finally made it to the other team's spawn point. The players on the pink team were heading towards our spawn point. There were 5 squids of the opposite team on the battlefield....wait....6? Weren't there 7?

SPLOOSH!

"Uh...hi..."Mindy said idiotically."So...are you doing okay on your team?"

I scratched my head."Uh...yeah. How about you?"

"Everything's fine over here."

This was pretty much an awkward moment. Neither one of us knew what to do up to this point. Are things always going to be like this?

"Lucas, it's ok. You can splat me. I won't get mad at you. I promise."Mindy said with a weak smile.

"I'm not even sure if I can do that, Starburst. You mean too much to me. But...one of us has to get splatter one way or another..."

Mindy walked up to me and hugged me."It's alright. I feel the same way. What should we do? We can't keep standing here. One of our teammates will eventually see us."

I looked around to see a hiding spot."I've got an idea!" I beamed turning into a squid."Let's hide behind this ramp."

Mindy looked around her and checked to see if anyone was coming. She turned into a squid and followed me. This spot was absolutely perfect.

When Mindy reverted back to her human form, one of her tentacle accidentally hit my cheek and was stuck there."Woops..."she said sheepishly.

We both tried to get it off of me. After a long attempt, we eventually got it off, but the tentacle left a mark."Eh heh...um...that's gonna leave a mark..."

Mindy grinned."Good! Now people will know that you're mine and mine only." she said as she kissed me on the cheek. And boy was I blushing like crazy...

SPLAT!

"Huh?"

I looked up to see that Marine splat my girlfriend."Well, I know you two are dating, but could you please do it elsewhere?" Marine asked.

"What was that for?" I asked furious. Marine's look turned into a straightforward expression. She then jumped off of the ramp."There is no love on this battlefield, Lucas! You're gonna have to learn to accept that."

"Excuse me, but I don't remember us bothering you--"

"And I don't remember you trying to splat anyone. I've also noticed that you're having a bit of trouble on the battlefield."

"What? I don't have any--"

"You've been having trouble controlling your roller, you have terrible aim at throwing your bombs, and to top it all off, you act nervous around the squids on the other team."

I rubbed my head and looked at her sheepishly. She folded her arms and sighed."If you're gonna do turf wars, then you must train and train hard. It's only going to get harder beyond this point."

"I know, but...I have other things to think about other than turf wars..."

"Fine, but if you change your mind, you can always come and see me."she said as she is walked off.

SPLAT!

Marine was splat by an Ink Mine. It must have been Mindy's. Smart thinking...

After a while, the battle was over. The results were 58-55. I looked at the score completely shocked. We...lost?

Marine folded her arms."Oh yeah, we have so much work to do. You guys can meet up with my group on Saturday if you guys want to. We're also assistant tutors for the Battle Tower. If you need us at Flounder Heights, you're welcome to ask. Me, Tanrine, and Vadelma are in room 207. Angelo, Taloupe, and Logan are in 208."

She's right. I have been slipping up lately. I don't know why! Is it because I have a girlfriend now?

"See you guys tomorrow!" Tanerine said happily waving goodbye. I guess it was also time for us to go back home too.

"That was an awesome battle!" Mindy smiled."You guys ready to go?"

We all left the Battle Tower and headed to Flounder Heights. What's going to happen tomorrow I wonder...

Heh...I can't wait to find out! And whatever happens, I know that me and my friends will face it together.

ANOTHER CHAPTER DONE! YAAAAAS! What'd you guys think of this chapter? I can't believe I finished the chapter this early! I'm still searching for my folder and I think I left it at school.

I have a plan for that!
