It was morning and Tadayoshi was going through the channels on the tv, from news channel, to talk shows, to Rising of the Shield Hero, to a game show

Tadayoshi: "man, is there anything on here today"

Suddenly there was a knock on the door

Tadayoshi: no ones home

Pearl: let me in Tadayoshi

Tadayoshi: come on in, it's unlocked

Pearl lets herself in and Tadayoshi turns at her with her new clothes

Tadayoshi: *GASP*

Pearl: I know I look fabulous, I told marina that-

Tadayoshi: it's a midget

Pearl got mad and starts punching him

Tadayoshi: I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you look nice

Pearl: nice!?

Tadayoshi: Ummm... I mean, cute?

Pearl then starts blushing at this

Pearl: thanks

She looks up to see Tadayoshi still changing the channels

Pearl: hey, aren't we supposed to go out

Tadayoshi: yeah, but you never told me when you want to start

Pearl: well guess what, it's starting now

She jumps on the couch with her Nintendo Switch

Pearl: I practice a lot, so I will win this time

Tadayoshi smirks a bit

Tadayoshi: we'll see about that

For a few hours, both Tadayoshi and pearl's win went back and forth, but Tadayoshi won at the end, and pearl starts punching him

Pearl: you cheated

Tadayoshi: smashing you out of the screen is cheating

Pearl looks up at him

Pearl: now I'm bored, what do you want to do

Tadayoshi thought for a moment

Tadayoshi: if I remember, there is a new cake shop op-

Pearl: then let's go there

Pearl grabs his hand and they both ran out the door

Tadayoshi: Pearl!? Slow down, it not the end of the world

After a few seconds, Tadayoshi and pearl made it to Inkopolis

Pearl: where is it, where is it

Tadayoshi: Jesus, you sound like Callie

Somewhere, where Callie is

Callie: I don't know why, but I feel like someone was talking about me

Back to pearl and Tadayoshi

Pearl: well sorry, I love cake ok

Tadayoshi: I know, say is that it right there

Pearl turns at the shop and she pulls Tadayoshi to the cake shop

They enter the shop, but as soon as they got there, the customers at the shop realized that pearl was in the shop and some cephalopods gathered around her to greet her

Tadayoshi: "I must be too tired right now to look scary, shit, better wake up soon"

They both manage to get past the crowd and up to the counter

Tadayoshi notice that the counter was taller than pearl and she was on top of her tippy toes to see the options

Tadayoshi tries to hold in his smile

After they got his order, they went outside so pearl can eat her cake

Pearl: man, I wish you can taste, you have no idea how good cakes are

Tadayoshi: well at least I can taste drinks

He takes a sip of his lemonade and watches her enjoy the cake

Tadayoshi: oi

Pearl: what

Tadayoshi leans over and picks off the frosting that was on the side of pearls mouth and eats it

Tadayoshi: *sigh* still no taste

He looks at pearl to see her, bright red

Tadayoshi: you ok

Pearl: yeah I fine, totally fine

Tadayoshi raised his eyebrow

Tadayoshi: well if you say so, to bad team cake didn't win

Pearl: Yeah, I know

Tadayoshi: hey at least you won team hare

Pearl: you betcha, by the way, who's team your on for this splatfest

Tadayoshi: team time travel

Pearl does a fist pump

Pearl: yes

Tadayoshi: now eat your cake, before time goes by fast

Pearl: come on, let's play some salmon run

Tadayoshi: alright

After a few moments, they sat on the boat, but Tadayoshi then starts listening to some inklings talking

Inkling 1: uh can't believe we are stuck with the gremlin

Inkling 2: I know, I don't understand why she's partners with marina, I wish marina had a partner  that was like her

Inkling 1: but extra thicc

Inkling 2: hell yeah

Tadayoshi stands up

Tadayoshi: I'll be right back pearl

Pearl: ok

After a few minutes, both pearl and Tadayoshi arrives at the salmon place

Pearl: where are the two inklings that were with us

Tadayoshi hides his pen

Tadayoshi: what inklings

Pearl shrugs

Pearl: alright let's have some fun shall we

Tadayoshi: if you say so

Pearl shot some salmons with her duel and collected lots of salmon eggs while Tadayoshi was scaring the salmon, that cause them to explode and he takes the eggs they drop

This story is interrupted by a chibi pearl doing the evil laugh and carrying the eggs, while chibi Tadayoshi is pointing the splattershot at them and making them hand over the eggs

After a few hours of the salmon run, they got on the boat to go back home

Tadayoshi then notice that pearl look upset

Tadayoshi: what's wrong

Pearl: nothing

Tadayoshi: if it's because I got the eggs easier, then sorry, I'll-

Pearl: it's not that, I heard what the two inklings that were on this boat said about me

Tadayoshi: looks at her

Pearl: when I and marina first did our first appearance as the new idol, cephalopods first didn't accept marina, but then they start accepting her, but they reject me

Both Tadayoshi and pearl gets off the boat and walks back home

Pearl: I did everything I can to make sure marina doesn't hear what everyone says about me, I-I wish I could just change myself, get rid of what I look like, but I know that will be ugly as hell

Tadayoshi stops and picks her up

Pearl: hey-hey, what are you doing

Pearl was tearing up and was blushing at the same time, not knowing how to feel

Tadayoshi then sets her on his shoulder

Tadayoshi: look, I know how that feels... I've experienced it before

Pearl looks down at him

Tadayoshi: people would look at me like I was a bubble face, a dead fish eyes, or a nobody, but I kept going with my life

Tadayoshi: but, you... you aren't anything like what they call you, I think you are beautiful, you can't change that opinion, don't listen to what they are saying to them...

Tadayoshi: you aren't ugly, you are something more than just a pearl

Pearl starts to cry a bit, but smiles and lays her head on top of his

Tadayoshi: no problem

Pearl: Oh by the way, what did you do to the two inklings

Tadayoshi: well...

Flashback

Tadayoshi was drowning one of the inklings while holding one in the neck in the air

Flashback ended

Tadayoshi: don't worry about it

They arrive at pearl's home and marina lets them in

Marina: how was it

Tadayoshi put his finger in front of his lips

Tadayoshi: quiet, she sleeping

Marina smiles at her sleeping pearl

Marina: bring her to her bedroom

Tadayoshi: alright miss

Tadayoshi heads upstairs and bring her to her room and sat her down on the bead

Tadayoshi: night, MC princess

He shuts her light off and closes the door leaving pearl to smile

Tadayoshi heads downstairs to leave

Tadayoshi: see ya, Marina

Marina: wait

Tadayoshi: what

Marina: um... do you mind if I let myself in your house if your sleeping, so I can prepare our next date

Marina begins to blush to think about what different outcomes if she enters his house

Tadayoshi tosses a key to marina

Tadayoshi: that's the key to my house, so you can come in, but don't do funny ideas to me

Marina: thank you

Tadayoshi shuts the door and marina turns away from the door

Marina: alright, big day tomorrow
