[ WRITING ]

...Narrator follows Thrush Flight...

Thrush Flight paced an open clearing it front of the apprentice den. As Fern Paw emerged from the overgrown entrance, the brown tom nearly knocked her off her paws.

"Watch it! Remember you're older than me, you're physically stronger. You have an entire moon's worth of training more than me!" The silver she-cat huffed.

"So you're saying I could squash you like a little bug?" Thrush Flight snickered playfully.

"Oh, hush you!" Fern Paw pretended to be offended at his comment. Thrush Flight couldn't help but admit, he had feelings for the apprentice. Her sharp-tongue and bravery often comforted him.

The silver she-cat scoffed. "Wren Brain is back," her voice was a grumble of hatred. Thrush Flight's blood boiled. Wren Heart, which was Wren Brain's actual name, was annoying and pathetic. Thrush Flight knew Fern Paw had a reason to despise the tom, he just didn't know why.

"Hi Thrush Flight! Hi Fern Pa-" Wren Heart was stopped mid-greeting by scolding hiss from Fern Paw. "Watch it, Wren Brain!" She spat, "Don't you know when to shut your mouth!?" The silver she-cat stretched out her paw and swung it a the long-furred warrior in front of her, claws unsheathed.

Wren Heart stumbled back and frozen in horror at the scarlet liquid gushing from his right eye.

"F-Fern Paw! What in the name of Star Clan was that for!?" Thrush Flight's mind raced and eyes darted as Wren Heart ran off. "I have my reasons." She said. "Reasons!? To blind a cat!?" The tom hissed, "You've broken the warrior code!" Fern Paw's anger redirected to Thrush Flight. "If I had half a mind, I'd-!" But she was cut off by the mewling of a kit.

"Thrush Flight...?" Swallow Kit quivered, "Why is Fern Paw mad?"

The brown warrior stared at Fern Paw. "I think we shouldn't talk about- this, in front of my brother." He said. The silver tabby shot a cold stare at the kit, if looks could kill, Swallow Kit would be sitting in his grave. Thrush Flight tried to look brave, to protect his brother, but he wasn't sure if he could.
