Chapter 55
Chapter 55
[Warning: Sensitive material ahead]
"No, NO! AMYCUS, NO!"
White's screams of misery suddenly pierced through the sounds of battle. Amos turned away from the fight and saw her crouched on the cave floor, crying over a motionless body.
Amycus.
"Whitney!" Amos yelled, breaking into a run and racing toward her.
White didn't seem to notice anything around her. She seemed too deep in her grieving to care about anything.
He ran next to her and looked down at the Pignite. It was like he had been stabbed with a sword. A deep puncture wound was right in the middle of his chest. His eyes were staring sightlessly at the cave ceiling.
"I-I'm so sorry, White." Amos whispered, kneeling down next to her.
White choked and looked up at him. Her eyes were red and swollen. Her face was covered in bruises and cuts.
"He's d-dead!" She wailed. "It's all my fault!"
Amos' face felt warm as she suddenly began crying into his shoulder. He had never been this close to White before. She always seemed to keep her distance from everyone. Having her right next to him made him feel awkward.
Penelope the baby Oshawott was staring at Amycus' body. Tears were streaming down her face. Amos remembered hearing that Amycus and Penelope had been very close friends, and we're almost like siblings.
Her face suddenly hardened and it burned with fury. He watched in horror as Penelope ripped something off from around her neck.
"No one takes my Amy away from ME!" She shrieked, throwing the object onto the ground and started crawling toward the battle.
Amos looked down at the object that the Oshawott had just thrown away. It was a light gray stone with a piece of string around it. The letters A+P were engraved on it and we're circled by a heart.
An Everstone.
"YOU'LL PAY FOR TAKING AWAY MY AMY!"
Both he and White looked up to see what Amos would definitely consider a miracle.
Penelope was walking. The crippled Oshawott was taking baby steps toward Raichu, who was now dueling Hydreigon. Leia had taken responsibility over Kyurem, so she hadn't noticed what had just happened. Amos looked at White to see her reaction, but she seemed speechless.
The Raichu's tail twitched as if she sensed Penelope's presence. The killer pokemon slowly turned around and gave a hiss like laugh.
"You're gonna fight me?!" Raichu jeered at Penelope. "You couldn't even take down a baby Caterpie!"
Penelope's fur turned red and she took a small step forward and glared at the Raichu. She pawed the scalchop on her chest threateningly and grabbed the hilt of it.
Raichu suddenly lunged at the baby Oshawott. Penelope smirked and swung the scalchop at the Raichu's tail. The pokemon shrieked as the shell cut her tail. Raichu collapsed and clutched at her tail.
Penelope started to glow white. She was grinning brightly as she was engulfed in a sphere of light. It was like a small explosion as the light faded away. Standing in Penelope's place was a Dewott.
Amos heard White stutter something, but he couldn't understand it. The Oshawott had changed so much now. Did Amycus' death really hurt her that much?
Raichu stared at the Dewott in shock. She seemed to have forgotten about her bleeding tail.
"Penelope, please try and do Water Gun!" White suddenly yelled.
Penelope beamed and a stream of water shot out of her mouth. Raichu yelped as ice cold water washed over her and knocked her off her feet. She hissed and spat with fury before charging electricity.
"Amos!" hissed White suddenly, grabbing his arm tightly.
He winced a little and tried not flinch. White seemed to have gotten control over herself.
"Amos, I want you to help Leia take down Kyurem!"
"What?!"
"I have helped you too much on your journey already! This is your story now, not mine! This is your battle! My time is over!"
"But-"
"Amos, listen to me! I've already helped defeat Team Plasma once, and that was enough for me! I never planned on defeating them twice! To be honest, I never planned on fighting them in the very beginning! The only reason I'm fighting Team Plasma is because I want my best friend and my older brother back! Ghetsis took them away from me and now he's going to pay!"
She then pushed Amos away from her and ran to help Penelope. He sighed and turned to find his Hydreigon. Hydreigon was dodging icicles that Kyurem was shooting at him with. Ghetsis seemed to have a Hydreigon of his own, because Leia and her Audino were trying to fight off a larger Hydreigon. This one was scarred and more vicious looking than Amos', not to mention older.
"Use Dark Pulse on Kyurem!" Amos shouted at his Hydreigon.
The three headed dragon roared and dove down to earth. A dark purple aura erupted around him and sped toward Kyurem. It made a shriek like roar as the aura went in and out of its body. Hydreigon panted and flew over to Amos. One side of his body was scraped up from the icicles.
"How tough is it?!" Amos asked his Dragon Type.
"It's more than I bargained for," huffed Hydreigon. "There's no way it can be taken down by just two pokemon, even if they were stronger than myself."
Amos began to panic. How was he supposed to take down Kyurem with a team that didn't even have half the strength as White's? Packs the Watchog wouldn't even speak to him, and Hydreigon had only just started listening to him.
"DUCK DOWN!" Hydreigon suddenly bellowed, pushing Amos down onto the hard cave floor.
An ice beam zoomed over his head and hit the dragon in the neck. Hydreigon roared as he collapsed to the ground. Ice was forming around his neck and down to his chest. The ice spread all around the pokemon's body until he was frozen solid.
Amos yelped as he felt something give his arm a hard, sharp prod.
"Pathetic," a cold voice snorted as something prodded his side. "You're one of the trainers that's been fighting my patrols?"
"Shut up!" Amos snarled at Ghetsis.
A roar that matched Hydreigon's exploded above him. Amos yelped again and rolled to his right. A huge tail smashed through the ground where Amos had just been.
"PACKS!" He bellowed, ripping a pokeball off his belt and throwing it at Ghetsis' Hydreigon.
His Watchog screeched as it appeared from the red light. Packs' eyes darted from Amos to the Hydreigon, and to Kyurem and Ghetsis. The Watchog's frown turned into a smirk and he lunged himself at the Hydreigon.
"Use Bite!" Amos shouted at Packs.
Packs yowled and sank his large tooth into Hydreigon's neck. It roared and thrashed, but Packs didn't let go. Then the dragon swung its head sharply forward and the Watchog was thrown off.
Amos yelled as Packs landed on his stomach. Packs got right in his face and growled.
"I'm gonna blame this all on you." Packs hissed at him.
"What?!" spat Amos. "What did I do?!"
"First, you shouldn't have trusted White! Two, you shouldn't have let her charm you into doing what she wanted!"
"That's insane!"
"I'm not done yet!" The Watchog snapped. "I know you like that girl! It doesn't take long for everyone to find out that you kissed her!"
"Who told you that?!"
"Pepper, Sora, Archy, and I heard Hugh telling it to Leia!"
"Ok I'm not gonna argue with you right now!" Amos growled, throwing Packs off of him.
Packs hissed as he stood up and looked around. White had started fighting against Ghetsis and Raichu, and Leia was still trying to take down Kyurem. Abby the Audino must have fainted because Leia's Lucario was now fighting the ice dragon. There didn't seem to be anything he could do to help..
"What do we do now, kissy boy?!" Watchog snapped after a moment.
"You're going to shut up, and I'm-"
"AMOS!"
Amos spun around to see that Ghetsis' Hydreigon had gotten a hold of Leia. It had Ringdog the Lucario in a choke hold in one arm and was holding Leia in the other.
"LEIA!" He shouted in alarm. He tried running toward her, but he felt something grab his arm.
"DON'T DO IT, AMOS!" White hissed from behind, her grip on his arm extremely tight.
"Are you crazy?!" Amos retorted. "She's my cousin!"
"I know that, but you're going to kill her AND yourself if you just run in there!"
He hissed a little but didn't argue. White would probably break his neck if he disobeyed her.
"Take one more step boy and the girl dies," Ghetsis' cold voice growled at him.
Amos gritted his teeth but didn't move. He hated giving Ghetsis the satisfaction of letting him push them around. He was surprised that White wasn't doing anything to help Leia.
"You never really thought that these children could stop me, did you?" Ghetsis hissed at White.
"I didn't at first!" snarled back White.
"The last two brats were twice as powerful as these two!" The old man snapped. "I only lost last time because of luck! This time you don't have much! You're dying, Whitney Gropius! If I don't kill you, then your arm will! I'll kill just like your old Raichu killed that pathetic pig!"
"He wasn't pathetic! He was ten times more noble than you'll ever be!"
Amos turned his head to look at White, but something caught his eye.
Penelope was limping slowly toward the exit, but Ghetsis, Hydreigon, nor Kyurem noticed. Everything became clear. White was buying Penelope time to go get help. White was only distracting Ghetsis.
"You've been trying to make my life miserable, haven't you?!" White suddenly accused, making Amos look back at her. "I know you had something to do with all the tragedies in my childhood!"
Ghetsis' response made Amos feel sick.
"Most of your childhood was just luck, but I'll admit I did plan some of it! I tried to ambush you when you were a child! I started the war between the Arcanine tribe and the humans! I helped start the forest fire! I made sure everything you did that was against the law was noticed by the police!"
"You're insane!" spat White. "Who would spend most of their life trying to kill one girl?!"
"Because you're a threat!" Ghetsis bellowed. "I saw you as a threat toward my plans ever since you were a child! You always escaped my traps because of your idiot brother! So I decided to take him away from you! I would've chosen you both, but you were useless to me! I couldn't have a girl represent Team Plasma, so I used your brother instead!"
"Well you made a big mistake right there!"
"I know I did! But at least it gives me the pleasure of killing you BOTH!"
Shards of ice the size of boulders exploded around Amos and White as Ghetsis said this. Kyurem roared as the shards spun faster. He heard Leia scream his name as something pushed him down.
"FUSION BOLT!"
Blinding yellow light burst everywhere as the shards of ice zoomed toward them. Amos yelled as electricity flowed through his body. Broken pieces of ice fell on him like rain.
A black dragon with red eyes was at the entrance of the cave. Its body was glowing electric blue, and its eyes were like bright flames.
The legendary Zekrom was glaring at Kyurem, electricity still crackling around it. The ice dragon looked taken aback at its rival's sudden appearance. But it shrugged it off easily and began to growl.
Amos turned over and saw White a few feet away from him. The electricity from Zekrom's attack didn't seem to have effected her, but she looked more pained then before. Her eyes were squeezed shut, and she was crying into her hands. He could see small cuts and bruises forming on her face. The spear like walking stick was lying next to her.
"White, I-I'm sorry!" Amos rasped, moving closer to her.
She didn't seem to have heard him. A loud scream then broke through his thoughts. He stood up and looked to see what had happened.
Hydreigon had let go of Leia and Ringdog, and was now racing. Amos tried not to yell as someone caught Leia in their arms.
"Oh, it's you!" He heard Leia spit out, the icy venom in her voice.
"You're welcome!" A new voice snarled.
Amos had only heard this voice twice before. One time was when he and his cousins attacked N's Hydreigon, and the other was when he learned about White's older sibling.
He watched N set Leia back on her feet as she hissed threateningly. N snarled as Leia's ponytails whipped him across the face.
"I could've taken care of myself!" Leia snapped at N.
"Well next time I won't bother turning up!" Amos heard him retort.
White seemed to have finally looked up. She was still crying, but she was watching her brother. It must have been comforting for her to know that she wasn't alone anymore.
Leia then ran over to Amos and hugged him tightly. He tried not to wince, but he flinched a little. Leia might be the most annoying and stubborn girl in the world, but she was still emotional.
"I-I thought it was going to kill you guys!" His younger cousin sniffed.
"Leia, please don't!" Amos begged, trying to separate himself from Leia.
N had now ran over to White, who was still crouched on the ground. He helped her up, but she stumbled into his arms. She gave a loud sob and hugged her older brother.
"T-They killed Amycus!" cried White. "H-He's dead! R-Raichu stabbed him!"
"Whitney, I'm-"
But N was cut off as a loud roar cut through the air. Zekrom was trying to avoid being caught by Kyurem. It was flying around the cave chamber as pinkish purple lasers were shot at it.
Something had made two more icy wings poke out of Kyurem's back. Then Amos noticed something like a syringe sticking out of its side. It almost looked like a piece of the ice dragon's wing.
Amos watched as Zekrom soared over Kyurem like a scaly raven. Kyurem roared and shot more lasers out of its new pair of wings. The pink lights missed Zekrom by not even an inch.
"Why did you bring Zekrom here?!" Leia suddenly snapped, rounding on N. "I thought you weren't supposed to bring it here!"
"White told me to bring him!" snarled N defensively, looking at his sister.
"Ok, so it wasn't the brightest idea in the world!" hissed back White. "I wasn't expecting Kyurem to get a new set of wings!"
But Amos wasn't paying attention to them. Zekrom had suddenly disappeared in a large sphere of light. It was replaced by a small black orb the size of his fist.
"What happened to it?!" Amos yelped, turning around and tugging at White's arm.
White turned around to face him, but she seemed to have noticed the orb.
"Oh shoot." He heard her whisper.
Amos looked from White to N. He had no idea what was happening.
Kyurem roared triumphantly as it shot two white beams at the stone. The light surrounded the stone, and it seemed to vanish. Then Kyurem began to glow and was surrounded by the white light.
"What's that?!" Leia gasped as the light subsided.
The pokemon standing in Kyurem's place was gigantic. It looked like both Kyurem and Zekrom combined. Half of its body looked like Kyurem, and the other half looked like Zekrom's.
"I think we just made a big mistake." Amos heard N hiss.
"And I know who to blame it on!" sneered Leia, glaring at N.
Amos saw White smirk at her flustered brother. White and N's relationship looked a lot better than Leia and N's.
"ARCHY!"
Red light appeared next to White as she released her Arcanine out of its pokeball. He watched N bring out Rapi the Rapidash as well. Leia's Lucario leapt between Archy and Rapi. Amos then realized that Packs had disappeared.
He yelped as the other three pokemon lunged at the Black Kyurem. Raichu and Hydreigon, who were standing on either side of Ghetsis, hissed and darted toward the other pokemon.
"Packs!" Amos called, turning left and right. "Packs, where'd you go?!"
After receiving no response, Amos sighed and removed all the pokeballs off his belt. Hydreigon was frozen, Packs was missing, and Amos' newest member of the team was too young to fight. That only left two pokemon.
"Oliver, Liliana!" He shouted, pressing the buttons on the pokeballs and tossing them in the air.
His Samurott and female Arcanine both yowled as they leapt out of the red light. Their cries grew louder as they noticed the Black Kyurem.
"What in the name of Arceus is that?!" shrieked Oliver.
"Don't ask me, ask them!" Amos yelped, gesturing toward White and N.
Liliana took no time in running to Archy's aid. White and Leia seemed to have switched opponents, because Leia was fighting Raichu, and White was helping N take down the black ice dragon. Oliver darted after Liliana and began attacking Black Kyurem as well. Apparently he was supposed to help White, so Amos ran next to her.
"Archy, try Fire Blast!" White ordered the Arcanine as Amos ran closer.
Flames burst around Black Kyurem as Archy gave a lion like roar. It cringed as the flames danced around its body and burned into its scaly skin.
"Liliana, Flamethrower!" yelled Amos, taking charge of his own pokemon. "Oliver, Hydro Cannon!"
Liliana barked and flames sparked from the side of her mouth. A stream of flames flowed out of her jaws a moment later, and scathed the legendary pokemon's neck and chest. Oliver had a water spiral streaming out of his mouth, and it washed over the lower half of the Black Kyurem's body.
"How are we going to take it down?!" Amos asked desperately after a few minutes of attacking the large pokemon.
White looked just as desperate as he felt. She was sweating more than before, and he could tell she was shaking really hard.
"Uh," the older trainer started, looking around to face Amos. He saw her gaze land on Ghetsis, who taken refuge behind the enraged legendary. Her eyes seemed to light up with realization and excitement as her gaze landed on the old man's walking stick.
"Ok, listen to me!" White suddenly said, grabbing his arm and pulling him over to her. "That walking stick Ghetsis has is the object that's making Kyurem go crazy!"
"How do you-"
"I saw Kyurem right before Hugh teleported me out of the frigate!" She explained hurriedly. "It was completely weak yet sane since I was the only person in the room, but now it's all strong and appears to have no memory of anything!"
"So what are you saying?!"
"We need to somehow break or turn off that stick! Then this Black Kyurem will be calm again, and it just might turn back into Kyurem and Zekrom!"
"And how are we going to do that, Einstein?" Amos retorted, slightly annoyed at White's know-it-all tone.
"We need to distract them so they won't notice that we break the staff!"
"And how are we going to distract them?" He finally asked.
White smirked and stepped away from him. "Leave it to me!" She sneered, running toward her Arcanine.
Amos watched as White ran next to her Arcanine and began scratching his fur. For one second, he thought that White had lost her mind. Then he saw a holster wrapped around its neck. White had hidden it under his neck fur.
She pulled out a gun and pointed it straight at the Black Kyurem.
"You think you can just shoot it?!" He heard Ghetsis sneer at White. "It'll take more than a bullet to pierce through its skin!"
He was surprised to see White smirk as she cocked the gun.
"If this was a normal gun, I would agree with you!" White hissed.
A loud bang echoed around the cave as she pulled the trigger. A red and white sphere shot out of the gun and hit Black Kyurem's chest. It roared as the sphere exploded, and a white and light blue pokemon escaped from inside it.
"THUNDRUS, THUNDER PUNCH!" White bellowed.
The legendary Thundrus obeyed, and punched Black Kyurem right in the jaw. It screeched in pain and stumbled deeper into the cave. Its tail scraped across the ceiling and boulders fell straight toward Amos and White.
He heard Leia yell his and White's names as the boulders began to fall. He felt something grab the back of his jacket and push him to the ground. Amos winced but didn't look up, too scared to see what was about to happen.
Then a loud gagging noise echoed across the walls. It sounded like someone was choking on liquid.
"White!" He yelled, forcing himself to stand up.
N had pushed them out of the rock slides way. But now a big rock wall was between them. One side had Leia, Ringdog, Liliana, Oliver, Thundrus, the Hydreigon, and Raichu on it, and the other had Amos, N, White, Ghetsis, Archy, Rapi, and the Black Kyurem.
Amos coughed as the dust subsided. He saw N kneeling next to White a few feet away from him. She was choking and gasping for the air, and she was spitting a dark red substance out of her mouth. Then he remembered that White couldn't breathe in dust or anything like it.
"Whitney!" He called again, moving through the rubble to reach White and her brother.
She spat up more blood and collapsed. She clawed at the ground as if something was stabbing her inside her stomach.
"Whitney, get up!" ordered N harshly, trying to push his little sister off the ground. "It's only a bit of blood!"
"N, stop!" Amos yelped, running between N and White.
"What are you doing?!" N spat.
"I-I don't think she's going to make it!" He choked, not moving away from White. "S-She never told you!"
"Told me what?!"
"She can't breathe in dust, smoke, or sand! She didn't find out about this till after you left! It apparently gets worse the older she gets! I-It's going to kill her! We can't save her!"
N stared at him. Amos knew that he sounded like an idiot saying all this. Who would just go and tell a guy that his sister was going to die because of a cough?
"N-No!" N stuttered, pushing Amos aside and kneeling next to White. "S-She can't die! S-She can't die this soon!"
"I-I'm sorry!" Amos wheezed. "I-I'm one of the only people who knew about it! N-No one told you because they were scared that White would find out..."
He then felt something hard hit him in the back of the head. He yelped and fell on his knees. A ringing sound filled his ears as he clutched his head.
Ghetsis had snuck up behind them without them noticing. The Black Kyurem was prowling behind him, which had finally recovered from the rock slide. White and N's pokemon were still trying to free themselves from the rubble.
"Couldn't save her, could you?" Ghetsis sneered at N. "You couldn't save your only blood relative. Shame, shame."
"Shut up!" growled N, not looking away from his dying sister.
"You don't need her!" The old man continued, ignoring N's threat. "You proved that the day you left her!"
"That was a mistake!"
"Where would you be without me?! You'd be starving in the wild if not dead! You're nothing but ungrateful freak!"
"FOR ARCEUS' SAKE, BE QUIET!"
The next thing Amos knew, N had started to fight Ghetsis. Rapi had gotten to her feet as N called her. The Rapidash shrieked and shot a spiral of flames at the Black Kyurem.
Amos took his chance and moved next to White. Her breathing was ragged and she kept spitting out blood. It was soaking into her clothes and her hair.
"W-White?" He whispered uncertainly.
White looked up at him slowly and gave him a small smile.
"I-I guess it ends here, doesn't it?" She choked, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"D-Don't say that!" Amos begged.
"B-But it's true!" White coughed. "I'll die either way! One way or the other, I'm gonna go home!"
"Y-You can't!"
He was sobbing now. He couldn't lose White. She was one of the only few people besides his family who had ever treated him like he was something special. He loved her, he loved her more than any girl he had ever met.
"I-I'm so sorry, Amos!" White sobbed suddenly, put her arms around him. "I-I know this is hard, b-but there's nothing we can do! T-This is hard for me too!"
"B-But you're more than my friend!" He choked. "Y-You're almost like my sister, except I love you more than that! Y-You're the only girl I've ever loved, even if you're a few years older than me!"
White looked shocked and touched. Amos sobbed harder than he ever had in his life, even more than the time that he was told that his little baby brother had died from a brain tumor.
Then he felt White's lips touch his. She was kissing him, actually kissing him. He felt his spirits rise a little bit as he kissed her back. They broke apart fairly quickly, but Amos didn't care.
"Please, I'm only holding on for two things," she wheezed after a moment. "Can you help me with them?"
"A-Anything," he coughed, wiping blood of his cheek.
"I-I want you to help me get saved."
"B-But you just said-"
"I don't mean saved in that way." She said dismissively. "I want you to help me become a Christian again."
Amos stared at her in shock. Almost three months before, she had told him that she hated God and that she would much rather be an Atheist. He was a Christian himself, except he never talked about it just in case people were super sensitive about that kind of subject. He tried to bring it up, but telling people about his religion was one of his weak points.
"I-I know I deserve to go to, well, the opposite of heaven," White hissed, spitting out blood a little forcefully. "B-But every since our conversation about my religion, I have felt that I should try and give it another go. The only problem was that I thought that I was too far gone to be saved, I-I thought God wouldn't forgive me for turning my back on him."
White looked up at him weakly. Amos looked straight into her eyes. There was a pleading looking in them. He realized how much this would mean to her. She seemed ready to except either fate, the joyous one or the terrible one.
"A-Are you serious about this?" He finally asked.
White nodded her head as vigorously as she could.
"I-I don't want to sound like I'm doing this to avoid going into that...that place," she coughed. "I-I just want to leave knowing that I'm forgiven for what I've done! I-I wish I could say sorry to everyone, but-"
Amos put up his hand to silence her. "I can't save you," he said slowly. "But Jesus can, and I'm sure he will."
The older trainer beamed at him. He could tell that she was trying to restrain herself from spitting out more blood. He put his hands in her's and started to pray.
"Jesus, please save Whitney," He started, squeezing White's hands. He could her murmuring something, but he couldn't tell what.
"She wants to know you again, and she is hoping you will forgive her. She knows she has done wrong, and she wants your forgiveness. You are the god of second chances, so please give her another chance to serve you! Please let her be your child again! She's ready to accept you as her lord again!"
He heard White sobbing uncontrollably, but with joy, not sadness. Amos wasn't sure what to say next. He had never done this before. Hopefully he had done it right.
"N-Now," White started in her familiar raspy growl. "Get my brother out of there so I can give him an apology!"
"But what about you?"
"Don't worry, I'll take care of Whitney."
Amos turned around to see Archy. The Arcanine was smiling at White. He was watching her with teary eyes. Amos smiled and walked away from the pokemon and its trainer.
N and Ghetsis seemed to be taking this battle seriously. Rocks were flying everywhere as Black Kyurem tried to squish Rapi.
Amos then noticed the hole in the wall of boulders. Something was digging through the rocks to reach the other side.
Then something orange and brown burst through the rocks and pelted toward the Rapidash. Raichu screeched as she pounced onto Rapi's back. Rapi shrieked and reared onto her hind legs, trying to throw the Raichu off.
"Nice to see you again, old buddy, old pal, old friend!" Raichu hissed sarcastically, using Thunder on her.
"Get off!" snarled Rapi.
"No!"
Amos watched in horror as Rapi threw Raichu toward Ghetsis. He heard Ghetsis yell angrily as Raichu tumbled into him. The Black Kyurem roared in surprised and swung its tail down toward Rapi and N.
"PROTECT!" He heard N bellow.
A fiery barrier separated them from the black ice dragon. Its tail bounced of the barrier and the Black Kyurem stumbled backwards.
The moment the barrier disappeared, Raichu lunged herself at Rapi. The Rapidash screeched and almost fell over N. Amos wanted to help, but he didn't have any pokemon to battle with.
"Pepper!" Amos suddenly yelled, taking the remaining pokeball off his belt and throwing it into the riot.
The baby Eevee squealed as it escaped from the red light. It chriped as it saw the other three pokemon. Rapi, Raichu, and the Black Kyurem all stared at him. Then Raichu and Black Kyurem started to laugh. Pepper flinched at the harsh noises and began to tear up.
"Its ok, Pepper!" Amos yelled encouragingly. "Please try and use Tackle!"
Pepper stiffened a little and nodded. He then bolted toward Raichu and bulldozed her over. Rapi took her chance and more flames spiraled out of her horn. Black Kyurem was more effected by this than Raichu. She only hissed and leapt away Rapi.
"You wouldn't kill me!" snarled Raichu.
"I wouldn't," agreed Rapi. "But I'll do something better."
"Like what?"
"L-Like showing you who you really and truly are, Raichu."
White had gotten to her feet, but she was leaning on her staff for support. Archy was standing next to her, his head held high. White's chest was still rising rapidly, and she was still spitting out blood.
"Y-You're not like this, Raichu," Amos heard White tell her former partner. "The real you wasn't so cruel. The real you would never kill. The real you was a true friend. I know you're still in there, you've just forgotten!"
"In your dreams, Gropius!"
Ghetsis had finally gotten to his feet, glaring at White.
"That weak pest you call a friend is gone!" He spat. "She's nothing but an empty shell now! Her memories of you are gone!"
"We'll see about that!" hissed White threateningly.
Amos looked from Ghetsis to White. They both seemed to be sizing each other up. Raichu's tail was twitching like a cat's when chasing a bug.
"Use Thunder on both those two brats!" Ghetsis suddenly ordered, gesturing to White and N.
Raichu crouched low, prepared to jump on her victims. The Black Kyurem also began to collect electricity. But Rapi suddenly ran between the two pokemon and the two humans. The Rapidash looked coldly at Ghetsis' pokemon. She didn't even flinch as Raichu hissed.
"Move aside, Rapi!" snarled Raichu.
"No." Rapi said flatly.
The Raichu looked shocked and looked up at the Rapidash. She seemed surprised that Rapi was taking the risk of getting beat up by a former ally.
The Raichu then shook her head and glared at Rapi. "So be it!" She hissed.
Light exploded around the Rapi as the Raichu and the legendary pokemon lunged at her. Amos saw White scream and collapse to the ground. He heard N yell White's name as the orb of white light turned rainbow colored.
The light subsided and a different pokemon stood in Rapi's place. Rapi now had wings of fire, and her horn was crooked. Her eyes were pure white and had flames flickering in the corner of her eyes. What looked like little lava filled tubes were sticking out of her wings, and we're connected to her back.
Amos couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was a Mega Rapidash. Only one Mega Rapidash had ever been recorded, and that was more than a hundred years ago.
Rapi gave an unearthly wail and bolted into the air. Raichu shrieked with fury and climbed up Black Kyurem's arm. The two pokemon shot thunderbolts at Rapi, but she dived swiftly out of the way.
"She's flying!" Amos heard Pepper gasp excitedly.
He looked over at the baby Eevee. Pepper was watching the battle like a child watching a special event on television. He had a thoughtful expression on his face.
"MAKE WAY, KISSY BOY!"
Amos yelped as the ground in front of him burst opening. A long weasel like figure dove into the air and did a flip toward the Black Kyurem. The dragon roared as the pokemon landed on its and began to gnaw on it.
Raichu then crawled onto its head and lashed out at Packs. The Watchog dodged the attack by using Detect and swung his tail toward Raichu's stomach. It hit its target, and the Raichu fell off the legendary's head. She landed on the ground with a thud and rolled into her side.
"You lazy mouse, get up!" Amos heard Ghetsis bellow.
He was ignored though, because a jet of flames suddenly lit up the ceiling. Rapi had sent a stream of fire straight into Black Kyurem's face. It roared and collapsed to the ground.
Packs leapt off the dragon's head and stalked over to Rapi, who had now landed on the ground. She tucked her wings in and strolled over to Raichu. The pokemon hissed and scooted away from the Mega Rapidash.
"Why are you doing this?" asked Rapi calmly.
Raichu chuckled and tried standing up. "I'm getting revenge for what that brat did to me!" She hissed.
"All Whitney ever did to you was give you love."
"Love?! You call that love?!"
Rapi sighed and pawed the ground. "We love you, Raichu. You're our friend, our family. We treated you no different than anyone else. No matter what you do, we will love you."
"Humbug to that!"
"The Pikachu we knew wouldn't kill pokemon or humans, no matter what they did."
Archy had stepped next to Rapi, watching Raichu carefully.
"You were a joy to be around. What happened to that feisty little Pichu I met in that forest?"
"We care about you, Raichu, and we never stopped." Rapi continued. "Don't listen to the lies Ghetsis has placed in your head. Follow your heart."
"My heart tells me to kill them!" spat Raichu, gesturing to N and White. "She hates me, I know she does!"
The mega transformation seemed to have made White more worse than before. N was trying to get her to say something, but she was too busy choking up blood. Amos wanted to go over and help, but he felt that he should stay put.
Archy and Rapi exchanged looks and nodded to each other.
"If Whitney hates you so much," Archy started, pulling something out of the holster around his neck with his teeth. "Then why did she keep this ever since you disappeared?"
Archy tossed something shiny at Raichu. It fell to the ground with a small tingling noise. Raichu stared at the object for a moment, and Amos saw what it was.
It was two of the necklaces that had a heart with BFF engraved in it. One necklace had one half of the heart and the second had the other. White and Raichu must have each had a half while they were friends.
Raichu then pawed the necklace and dug her claws into the silver metal. Amos saw the Raichu's mouth move to say "Best Friends Forever".
Then tears began to drip onto the ground. Raichu was crying. She was actually crying, more like sobbing. She clutched necklace and pulled it close to her chest.
"W-What have I done?!" Raichu wailed, sobbing harder and harder.
Rapi smiled and trotted over to the Raichu. She unfolded her wing and wrapped it around the weeping Raichu.
"Just cry, honey, just cry..." Rapi whispered comfortingly.
Archy padded over to Raichu and put a paw on her shoulder. "It's never too late to turn back." He said, flashing Amos a smile.
Raichu then stiffened and nodded. Rapi tucked her wing away as Raichu stood up and faced Ghetsis. The old man had been checking to see if Black Kyurem had fainted or not, but it wasn't because he cared for the pokemon.
Raichu's ears laid back and her tail twitched. "I'm fed up with you!" She growled in a deadly voice.
Even if Ghetsis didn't understand pokemon, Amos could tell that he knew exactly what was happening.
"Freeze Shock!" Ghetsis ordered as the Raichu lunged at him.
The Black Kyurem roared and put its claws together and began to charge energy. An electric blue ball of energy formed in its claws. It grew larger after each second.
But Raichu was faster than the dragon. She knocked the walking stick out of Ghetsis' hand, and it flew through the air toward Archy. The Arcanine caught it and snapped it in half with his jaws.
Amos heard Ghetsis shriek with fury as the Black Kyurem glowed white. The one pokemon turned into two as Kyurem and Zekrom were separated. Both legendaries were unconscious and bruised.
Amos yelped and ran over to White and N as he heard Ghetsis come closer. White was choking and spitting out blood. She was leaning against N since there was nothing they could do for her. Amos noticed light tear tracks on N's dirty face.
"How could this happen?!" He heard Ghetsis shriek. "How could lose not once, but TWICE?! I was so close, but now my hard work is destroyed?! HOW COULD I LOSE TO SUCH PESKY KIDS AND THOSE TWO FREAKS?! I'M PERFECT, HOW COULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO SOMEONE LIKE ME?!"
His body seemed to freeze as he made out Ghetsis' outline. He felt White stiffen next to him as if she too could tell that her enemy was close.
"You two!" hissed Ghetsis, the venom in his voice ice cold. "You ruined it! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!"
"Why did you even bother to try and rule the world?!" snarled N, standing up to face his foster father. "You don't even understand what pokemon truly do for us! You just use them as tools of war! Did you think people would just let you conquer the world and destroy people's relationships, not only between their pokemon, but between their family and friends! You ruined my life, father!" N spat the last word out as if it was a swear word.
"SHUT UP!" Ghetsis bellowed at his foster son. "JUST SHUT UP! DON'T TRY AND PRETEND TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A THICK HEADED UNLOVED CHILD, A FREAK!"
A rock suddenly came flying past Amos' ear and missed Ghetsis' head only by an inch.
White had grabbed the nearest rock to her and threw it at Ghetsis. Her teeth were gritted and she was grasping her staff tightly with her other hand. She looked completely outraged.
"You shut up, Ghetsis!" She spat, blood trickling out of her mouth. "You might not love Natural, but that doesn't mean others don't! Now get out of our lives, NOW!"
Amos personally thought that Ghetsis had lost his mind. The old man had then slapped N across the face. N yelped and collapsed to the cave floor as Ghetsis stormed away. Ghetsis' shrieks became suddenly silenced after a moment. The entire cave was silent.
"Shadow Triad," growled N, spitting something out of his mouth. "They teleported him out..."
Amos looked over at him and saw that Ghetsis had knocked one of N's side teeth out.
Then White's raspy breathing became more pained and panicked. Amos knelt down next to her and grabbed her hand.
"W-Whitney?" He whispered.
White didn't answer. She was staring at N.
"WHITNEY!"
A crying Raichu ran over to White, sobbing into White's shoulder. White didn't even flinch as the Raichu touched her. Amos could see the necklaces clutched in her paw still.
"I-I'm so sorry!" Raichu sobbed. "I-I didn't mean to kill Pignite! I-I didn't mean to say those things! I-If only I had known-"
But she was cut off as White gave the Raichu a weak hug. Raichu sniffed and hugged back, still sobbing into her shoulder.
"I-It's ok, Raichu," whispered White soothingly. "I'm sorry too..."
The trainer and pokemon pulled apart as Rapi, Archy, Packs, and Pepper approached them. Rapi and Archy were already in tears, and Pepper had already broken down completely. Packs was sniffing, but Amos could tell that he was trying to be strong.
"P-Please don't die!" wailed Pepper, leaping onto White.
White smiled as she looked at the baby Eevee. "I-I have to," she said quietly. "If I didn't have to, I wouldn't die, but Pepper," she lifted Pepper's head up with her finger. "Y-You remind me of your father, and I like that about you. Try to be brave and loyal like him."
Pepper nodded and crawled off her chest. Amos watched as White spoke to her two most loyal pokemon.
"T-Thank you for everything, Rapi, Archway," she thanked, nodding to the Rapidash and the Arcanine. "Y-You two are the closest things I've had to parents. I-I wish I could pay you back for everything you've done for me. I-I'll always love you two, and please tell the others that I love them all so much."
Rapi sobbed at this and laid next to her fallen trainer. Archy stepped behind White and let her rest her head on his paw.
"T-There's no need to pay us." Archy told her. "You've paid us back just for being a joy in our lives."
Rapi nodded and rested her head on White's chest. White smiled at her and turned to her brother. Amos turned away as he noticed that N was sobbing into his hands. He heard White give a small wail as she hugged her older brother.
"I-I'm so sorry, Natural!" She cried. "I-I wish so much that I could stay with you! I-I'm sorry for everything I've ever said to you that was cruel! I-I wish we had more time to make up! I-I wish I told you more often how much you mean to me!"
"I-I'm sorry too!" sobbed N. "I-I'm so sorry for leaving you! I-It was a stupid thing for me to do! I-I'm so sorry for getting you into this mess! Y-You deserve so much more than I could ever give you!"
Amos saw White choke and wheeze as she buried her face into his shoulder. The two siblings were finally doing what had been put off for eleven years.
"N-Natural, promise me that you'll look after my pokemon and Mira when I'm gone!" White told him. "M-Mira has lived without an older brother for most of her life, and she's opened up to you more than she has to anyone else!"
"B-b-but-"
"P-Please, Natural!"
Amos thought N might object, but N nodded forcefully. White smiled and continued to hug N. She then turned her head to look at Amos.
"P-Please tell your cousins that you three have changed my life completely!" She stammered. "A-And please tell Sky Blue and Mira that I love them and that they mean so much to me!"
Amos nodded. He felt the tears come back to him as White looked around at everyone.
"G-Good bye!" She whispered, spitting blood out of her mouth.
"G-Good bye!" sniffed Raichu.
"We love you so much Whitney," whispered Archy.
"W-We hope to see you soon!" cried Rapi.
Amos reached over and hugged White. "I-I love you, Whitney..." he sobbed.
He felt White put an arm around him, and she whispered in his ear, "I love you too, Amos Jackson..."
White then let go and glanced at her brother. N sobbed and hugged her tightly.
"I-I can't let you go!" He cried. "I-I won't let you go!"
"T-There's no hope for me, Natural," said White quietly.
The two siblings looked at each other. White's breathing became more slow. They were losing her.
"Promise you won't leave me?" She whispered.
"I'll stay with you till the very end..." replied N.
White gave one last smile. She choked out more blood as she gave her last breath.
"G-Good bye..." White hissed as her chest stopped rising.
Her body was still. She was still slumped against N's chest, her brother's arms around her protectively.
Amos cried into his hands. Whitney Joy Gropius was gone. No one knew how much he would miss her. White had changed his life. But deep down, Amos knew that his loss of White was nothing compared to Natural's.

THE STORY ISN'T OVER YET! PLEASE DON'T JUDGE THE ENDING BECAUSE OF THIS "DEATH". YOU WILL SEE WHY I KEEP PUTTING QUOTATIONS AROUND WHITE'S "DEATH" IN THE NEXT CHAPTER! OTHERWISE, PLEASE DON'T HATE ME! THANK YOU!
OK, this ending was a little more emotional than I thought ;-; I think it was the Whimos and the sibling moments that did it (The WhiteXAmos shipping name is fun to say :P). Please, no hate mail. I can stand grief mail, but hate mail, no.
Here's a heads up: The next chapter will be the most spiritual chapter in this book, so just a heads up for those who are sensitive about Christian beliefs.
I want to put this on here because not all of you might not be Pokemon fans. PLEASE don't judge Pokemon because of the last two chapters or any other violent chapter. I made them violent so they could be exciting. So please, don't judge Pokemon because of this book.
So good night, I will be updating every Thursday/Friday for the next month! Four chapters left and the Epilogue! Again, this story isn't over yet! Let's say I have been planning on something special ever since I started this book....
So good bye, take a tissue box (you'll need em *throws tissue boxes everywhere*), and I'll see you later!
