Chapter 45
Chapter 45
"No! Hydreigon! Packs! Come back here! COME BACK!" Amos shouted after the two pokemon, who had both begun to run away from him. Archy roared and tried pouncing onto Packs, but missed. Oliver and Liliana tried to catch Hydreigon, but he was too big.
"You idiot!" Amos heard Archy bark at the Watchog. Packs spat on the ground and ran up a nearby tree. Hydreigon stuck his tongue out at Amos before flying into the air.
"I knew they shouldn't have given me that stupid pokemon!" he hissed, breathing heavily as Hydreigon shot a stream of water at Archy and Liliana.
Two days had passed since Amos left Undella Town, but he was still on Route 13. He was trying to earn Hydreigon and Packs trust, but it wasn't going well. Packs would ignore him whenever he tried to talk to him, and Hydreigon obvious didn't want to be with him. The large dragon would attack the other pokemon when they least expected it, and he would sneer insults at Amos.
Amos lost his temper and kicked the tree that Packs was in. He saw the Packs smirk at him as the Watchog climbed higher.
Hydreigon, who had stopped spraying the other pokemon, flew back to the ground, ignoring Archy's curses and insults. Liliana was drenched in water, and Oliver's side was bruised. Archy was also wet, and was trying to shake the water out of his fur.
Liliana licked her fur and sat on the ground, looking gloomy. "Can we just ditch them both? No one would miss them." she whined, looking up at the tree Packs was hiding in. She stopped when Amos shot her a look.
Archy snorted and shot a small flame at Hydreigon's tail. Hydreigon flew above the ground, and the flame ignited the grass. Oliver sighed and used Water Pulse on the burning grass.
"What am I doing wrong?" Amos snarled, more to himself than to his pokemon. But Packs heard this and climbed down the tree, looking up at his trainer.
"Maybe you should give me a little more attention." The Watchog snapped, his tail swinging back and forth. Amos looked back at the other pokemon before answering. Archy had now achieved in setting Hydreigon's tail on fire.
"I have been trying to give you all the attention I can!" he hissed, trying to keep his voice calm, "Do you think it's easy looking after five pokemon? Two of them aren't even mine! It's not exactly easy giving each pokemon the same amount of attention!"
Packs opened his mouth to retort, but a loud shriek echoed around them. Amos jumped and fell backwards. Packs yelped and dived onto the ground, his paws over his head.
Purr had been hiding in the bushes until Archy had caught her tail on fire instead of Hydreigon's. The Liepard was shrieking and bouncing while Oliver tried to put the fire out. Hydreigon had flew upward in fright, and Liliana fell into a bush that was full of thorns.
"What are you doing here?!" Archy roared as he accidentally tripped over Liliana. Purr didn't answer, but yowled as Oliver sprayed her with Water Pulse. The Liepard hissed and licked her paw, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"IF I KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO BE HERE, I WOULD HAVE RAN AWAY!" howled Hydreigon furiously. Amos saw Purr glare at the dragon, but she didn't say anything.
Amos then realized that she was badly scarred and cut. Her legs were wrapped in bandages, and her side was bruised. Like Zoroark and Archy, she had a fresh cut over one eye.
"What happened to you?" he asked her. Purr moved away from him when he tried to look at her paw. Her ear twitched as she looked away from Amos.
"I come with a message." She snarled in a low voice. Archy, who had been helping Liliana out of the thorn bush, looked up at her.
"Why are you doing it?" he growled. Purr turned away from the male Arcanine and faced Amos.
"If you be quiet, I'll tell you." Purr snarled to Archy, and then looked up at Amos, "Sky Blue's gone."
"Gone?" Amos said blankly, his stomach clenching, "Wait, when you mean gone, you don't mean he's...?"
"Not that kind of gone, of course not!" the Liepard snapped, "When I mean gone, I mean we can't find him. He's what you call 'MIA'."
"How is Sky 'missing in action'?" Oliver butted in. Purr shrugged, but her lip curled. Amos saw that she was missing about four teeth.
"We don't know." Purr said, her voice was surprisingly quiet, "His Areodactyl came back without him. Didn't you hear what happened in Opelucid City?"
"No." snarled Packs, who had finally straightened up into a sitting position, "We've been here all this time."
Purr glanced around at the others before speaking. She looked as if she didn't trust them at all. Her eyes lingered on Hydreigon, who was watching her intently.
"Team Plasma froze Opelucid City solid." Purr finally said, "They got what they wanted and everything. It was a good thing that White left the city early, or she would've been in trouble."
Archy yowled with fury, and Liliana gasped. Oliver looked petrified. Hydreigon groaned and collapsed on to the ground. Packs looked uncomfortable as Purr glared at him. He was clearly the only one who wasn't affected by this news.
"What?!" Amos yelped, staring at the Liepard in horror, "Why did they freeze it? Is everyone ok?!"
"Let me tell you then!" She hissed, "White was ambushed by Zinzolin, and she was almost caught by the police. Thankfully, Sky Blue had his Alakazam which was able to teleport her to Route 22. Zinzolin's Weavile froze her arm, and it gave her a frostbite. It's not serious from what we can see, but it could be."
Archy slumped onto the ground, looking relieved. Amos could tell that he was still nervous about his trainer. Amos knew that White and Archy had a very close relationship. It would've been hard if White was seriously injured and Archy wasn't there with her.
"What about Leia and Hugh? Are they ok?" Amos asked, hearing the plead in his own voice. Purr snorted.
"They're fine. They're both with White on Route 22. I heard that Hugh and Leia fought off Team Plasma by themselves. From my resource, I heard that Sky Blue fought them to, but vanished along with Zinzolin."
"And how did White take this?" Hydreigon asked. He said it a bit to harshly. Purr glared at him, and avoided looking at him.
"Not too good." Purr answered, "She has gotten a bit too lonely. She cries when no one is around, and hides in different places when Hugh or Leia is in her main hiding place. Well, you know how close Sky and White are. For all we know, Sky could be dead. But I don't think so."
"Why?" said Amos, still watching the Liepard. Purr didn't answer right away. She licked her paw, ignoring Archy's and Liliana's muttering.
"Team Plasma isn't stupid," Purr finally answered, looking up at Amos, "Zinzolin also told the police about Sky. When White escaped Opelucid City, Zinzolin told the police that Sky had been helping White into cities. I think he said that so he could catch Sky Blue easier. Sky has those talents of making those hearing aid things and other cool stuff. Team Plasma would do anything to have those awesome items on their side. Plus, White and Sky have a close relationship, so if Team Plasma has Sky Blue, they'll probably get White as well."
No one spoke for a moment. Amos was still confused about a few things.
"But didn't anyone search the city and nearby routes?" he asked. Purr smirked and her tail twitched.
"N has been looking for Sky Blue. He checked everywhere, but he couldn't find him."
"He what?" Archy interrupted, looking amazed. Hydreigon also looked surprised and stared at Purr. The Liepard purred loudly and her tail curled around herself. Liliana, Oliver, and Packs looked confused.
"You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you!" Purr said in a sing song voice. "What are you talking about?" Packs asked.
She ignored him. Purr was grinning at Archy. The Arcanine looked curious and surprised.
"What do you know that we don't?"
"I'm not telling!"
"Purr, come on, spill it."
Purr rolled her eyes, but grinned even wider. "We got a breakthrough!" She sang, bouncing up and down.
"What?" said Amos, looking at her. Hydreigon rolled his eyes. "She means that she found catnip for the first time in years." Hydreigon sneered.
"I thought she found a ball of yarn!" snickered Oliver. "Ok, Purr," Liliana giggled, "What happened?"
"White hugged N!" the Liepard answered instantly.
There was a loud choking noise and a thud. Archy had fallen backwards and tripped over Packs, who had been nibbling on a twig. Hydreigon slammed his head on a branch as he bolted into the air. The noise made Liliana jump, and she fell onto Oliver.
"Ok, Purr, stop lying!" choked Archy, moving away from the hissing Watchog. "I'm not lying! I saw it with my own two eyes! Ask Amycus! He'll tell you! He was there to!" Purr replied.
"Wait, what made them do that?!" Amos asked, thinking that Purr might be lying.
Purr shrugged. "Long story, but I'll tell it anyway. Ok, so you know how White is jealous of Concordia and Anthea?"
"Yeah."
"Well N apparently feels the same way toward Sky Blue, so he tried getting rid of the poor kid. He made Sky protect White because he wasn't able to and all that. N knew that Sky Blue would die for White, so her tried to make Sky die like that. So when White came to see N, he admitted that he was trying to get rid of Sky Blue so it would be easier for him to work things out with White."
"You're still not making this make any sense." Oliver growled, rubbing a bruise on his side.
"I'm getting there!" Purr sighed, "Well I think all of that was a bit to much for White, so she lost control. She was probably really lonely, because she now lost the only two people who loved her back."
Archy looked dumbstruck. "You're actually serious about this, right?" he said, staring at the Liepard. "Positive." She replied, nodding impressively.
"I personally don't believe it." Hydreigon said flatly. Amos saw Oliver roll his eyes. "From what I know about you," started Packs, "You don't believe in any kind of news that comes from a Liepard."
"True fact." The dragon admitted, "I've learned not to believe anything that this-"
"Finish that sentence and I'll rip your jaw out of that face of yours." growled Purr, unsheathing her claws. Hydreigon recoiled, and Amos didn't blame him. Her claws weren't in the best shape.
"So is there anything else you needed to tell me?" Amos asked hurriedly, not wanting Purr and Hydreigon to get into a fight. Purr glared at Hydreigon before answering.
"Yes, their is one more thing." She said, turning back to Amos, "I'm supposed to take you guys to Route 22. We're taking a shortcut."
"What kind of shortcut?" Liliana asked. Purr shrugged and licked her paw. "It's just the Giant Chasm. We're not going in it, but we'll pass it." Purr told them.
"Purr, that isn't a very safe one." said Archy. Purr snorted and stood up. "Well, if you rather go all the way back to Undella Town and go through that aqua tube, that's fine with me, but then I just wasted five hours of my life."
"We'll come." Amos sighed, and he also stood up. Packs snarled as Liliana grabbed the scruff of his neck and put him on his feet. Amos returned Archy, Liliana, and Oliver to their pokeballs.
"So I have to walk?" Packs groaned as Amos climbed onto Hydreigon's back. "It won't kill you." snarled Amos.
"Can't I just be on Dum Dum's back to?" the Watchog asked as they followed Purr. "I don't think I'll let you." hissed Hydreigon.
"FINE! I'll walk!" Packs said loudly, "But don't run!"
"Oh yeah?" sneered Purr.
"Yeah."
"Watch me!" and the Liepard pelted through the forest. Packs screeched and ran after her, yelling about ripping the rest of Purr's fur off.
"They'll make a great couple someday." Hydreigon sighed. Amos smiled as Hydreigon flew after the two pokemon, Pack's and Purr's screeches echoing around the forest.
