Chapter 37
Chapter 37
White hid behind a large tree as two officers walked past the Celestial Tower. She covered her face with her scarf as they walked past. One glanced back at her as they disappeared into the tall dark grass.
Her usually brown and green hair was now blonde like Mira's. Her hazel eyes had also turned bright blue. She had to admit, Mira did a good job on changing her appearance. White was now a young lady named Leta Hall from Viridian City, Kanto.
Her team had been remade as well. White's team now had Abby the Audino, Taxi the Electrode, Zoroark, though disguised as a Ninetails, Amycus the Pignite, Penelope the Oshawott, and N's Hydreigon. Her brother had found out about her situation, and had let her borrow his Dragon type. N had said he was sorry about everything, but White didn't believe him.
She heard footsteps and she saw Sky Blue running out of the tall grass, holding four different colored flowers in his hands. "Are you ok?" he asked urgently as he approached her.
"Yes," She answered looking around. "Two cops passed by, but they didn't recognize me."
Sky nodded and handed her two of the flowers. One was a dark red rose, and the other was a black and blue flower.
"Here, we might as well pay our respects to our loved ones while we're here." He huffed. White smiled and looked at the tower.
"Where are Mira and the others?" she asked.
"Training in the grass. Leia has her sixth gym battle soon." Sky said, nodding toward the tall grass.
"And how are my pokemon?" White added nervously.
Out of all her pokemon, Archy was the most devastated at the news that they couldn't travel with White anymore. Amos was now taking care of Archy and Seth, and Hugh was watching over Di-Di and Rapi, since White was keeping Zoroark. She still kept Thundrus with her as her seventh and illegal pokemon.
"Their fine." Sky reassured her.
"What about Archy?" she asked, feeling a stab of shame.
"Archy? He's with Liliana. Their probably kissing right now, I wouldn't worry about him." He said, putting his arm around her as they walked toward the Celestial Tower.
White still couldn't help but feel guilty, even though she was innocent. She couldn't drive out the image of Archy's face when she explained the situation to him and the others. Rapi had looked concerned and scared, and Di-Di had looked plain terrified. But White had to keep reminding herself that they would be better off without her.
"Should we visit Kelly first before we go in?" White asked Sky. Her friend frowned slightly and nodded.
"I... I guess that would be ok." He said, his voice cracking.
Sky had buried his younger sister, Kelly, behind Celestial Tower when she died. Only pokemon could be laid inside the tower, so he had to bury her outside. Her grave wasn't the best, but it was all Sky could do. He had no money to give her a proper grave, so he made his own.
White held Sky's hand and pulled him toward the back of the tower. She could feel his grip tighten, as they turned the corner. She gave his hand a small squeeze in return.
Kelly Indigo Azul's grave was tiny. A large, single stone poked out of the ground, marking the location of Kelly's body. A small blue vase what set beside the stone. The words that were scratched on to the grave stone said:
Here lies Kelly I. Azul, one of the bravest people in the world
July 15, 2000 - August 17, 2005
The two of them stopped in front of it, looking at the small grave. White remembered when Chatter and Junior once told her that Sky Blue had to bury Kelly and carve the words into the stone all by himself.
Sky knelt down in front of the grave and put a small, light blue flower into the vase. He pressed the button on one of his pokeballs, and Shane leapt out of it. The Gallade looked confused as his eyes fell onto the grave.
"Use Cut to scratch the last words into the grave." Sky Blue murmured to him. Shane nodded and started to scratch at the stone, carving letters into the rock.
"The saying was from a movie, but I thought it was grave worthy." He muttered to White, not looking at her.
When Shane stepped back, a new sentence was carved into the stone.
If your life was meant to end in fire, than we should've burned together
Tears started to slide down her cheeks, and she hugged Sky Blue tightly. Kelly died in the forest fire that Archy's pack had started. Though the fire was meant to kill White, it had killed young Kelly instead.
Kelly never deserved to die, and Sky didn't deserve to be alone without his sister. White felt responsible for her death, but she didn't tell anyone this. It already hurt to much to even consider it.
Shane turned away from the grave, apparently realizing who it belonged to. White saw that Sky was crying silently as well. He squeezed her hand, and she started to pull him away from his sister's grave. White returned the Gallade to his pokeball instead, before they moved into the Celestial Tower.
The tower was almost pitch black, except Litwick were scatter around the first floor. The candle pokemon let off a eerie glow as people mourned for their pokemon and visited the pokemon graves.
She was dreading to see the graves of her own pokemon: Ray the Lucario and Darmanitan. White hadn't visited Ray's grave in two years, and she never visited Darmanitan's. Sky Blue still had one more grave to visit as well.
Sky Blue seemed to have gotten a grip on himself, and was now leading her up a spiral staircase. "What floor are Ray's and Darmanitan's graves on?" he asked in a low voice as they climbed the stairs.
"I think all three graves are on the fourth floor." White replied, "N said Darmanitan's grave was near the staircase to that bell.
He nodded as they reached the second floor and made their way toward the next staircase. White saw graves that went back almost two hundred years. The third floor had more newer graves, but pokemon trainers lurked around on that floor.
Then they reached the fourth floor. There weren't as many graves as there was on the first three floors. Most of the graves were from the nineteenth century, except for about seven.
White approached one of the nearest tombs and read the words on it.
Regulus R. Lucario
September 30, 1990 - June 20, 2010
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life
White rubbed the letters of Ray's name with her thumb. She had used the money her grandfather has given her from his will to make the grave. The large tomb now held what remained of Regulus Ray's body. It's been six years since his death, so he probably is just bones now.
She set the black and blue flower on top of Ray's name. White felt Sky Blue move closer to her as she wiped tears out of her eyes. If Ray was still alive, she felt that she could get through all her suffering. Ray had always made her feel safer when life started to give her its worse.
"Its ok." Sky whispered as she began to cry. "He's in a better place." White shook her head and cried into his shoulder.
"But I still need him!" She sobbed. "I wish I was with him! No one could hurt me with him! A-And I would be able to see my family to!" The thought of her grandparents, mother, Ray, Darmanitan, and possibly her father, all together without her made everything ten times worse.
She never met her grandmother, Elisabeth, but her grandfather said that whenever he looked at White, he saw a much younger version of Elisabeth. Grandfather Gregory also said that Elisabeth was a strong woman with a harsh attitude, but was very gentle and kind under all that roughness.
Hannah Gropius, White's mother, had died two years before her grandfather was poisoned. White never really figured out what happened to her mother after N and her were gone, but Hannah had apparently gotten cancer or some other disease, and died from it while bearing her third child.
The baby had died along with her mother, never even seeing the outside world. White had discovered only lately that the unborn child would have been a girl. White half wished the baby had survived, but knew that her younger sister would never know she had siblings.
Darmanitan had died a year before White met N for the first time in eight years. No one knew if he died from old age or if he was just very ill. All they knew was that he died over night in the winter.
White wished that Archy hadn't been with her when N had told her where Darmanitan was buried. The Arcanine had been rivals with him, but they were good friends as well.
Rapi found out to, and had cried for hours. She had secret feelings for the Darmanitan that he never knew about. Darmanitan had taken care of Rapi, just like they did for White and N.
Sky Blue moved her away from Ray's tomb and they walked toward another one. This one White recognized as the grave Sky had made for his pokemon.
Missy the Mismagius
December 24, 1835 - January 30, 2008
Missy had acted like Sky Blue's mother when Kelly had died. She had always given him attention, and had a talent for making Sky happy when he was down. The Mismagius had lived for over 170 years since she was a Ghost pokemon, so she had experience with young children.
White and Sky had thought that she would be "immortal" since she was a Ghost Type, but they were wrong. A plague had spread throughout Route 7, and Missy was one of the pokemon who had caught it. She only lasted a month. Her death was the only time White had seen Sky Blue lose control completely. Sometimes she thought that Missy's death was what caused Sky to go "insane".
Sky Blue set a purple rose on Missy's tomb and turned away. White saw him try and wipe tears off his face. She didn't blame him for being upset. Sky and Missy had the same relationship that she and Ray had, maybe even deeper.
White thought he might need some time to be alone, so she started to walk toward the staircase that led up to the bell. After a few minutes, she found what she was looking for.
A large tomb was next to the staircase. A large red cross was marked on the stone, and there were words scratched into it.
Darmanitan
November 20, 1942 - February 14, 2012
Every living creature needs a parent, and you were mine
White placed the red rose onto the tomb, feeling sick. She had no idea how she was supposed to feel toward Darmanitan. When she was little, she thought she knew Darmanitan. Now that she was older, White felt like she never knew him.
She turned away from the tomb and walked back toward Sky. He still had his back turned on Missy's grave, and looked exhausted.
"Let's go." White said quietly, holding Sky's hand. He didn't say anything but nodded. She started to walk down the staircase, but than she noticed small writing carved into the side of Ray's tomb.
I'm sorry I left you. Please forgive me.

I KNOW WHO WROTE IT, BUT I'M NOT SAYING. Lol, I'm just weird right now. But it's plain LOGIC.
Ok, I cried while writing this. I did. I'm still crying. It HURTS.
So I gave White and N a little bitty sister, and I KILLED HER. HOW UNFORTUNATE *Sniff*
Lawdy, I'm gonna die. I'm so mean. I hate myself. Not really, but you know what I mean.
OK, LET ME GO CRY NOW.
SEE YOU LATER
AND TAKE A KLEENEX IF YOU NEED ONE (·~·)/[]
