Chapter 28

"Are you sure we aren't lost?" Hugh called from behind Amos.

"Quite positive. I'm an expert at finding Grottos, my dear Hugh." said Sky Blue, who was pushing aside a bush.

"We're lost." Amos whispered to his cousin, smirking slightly.

Amos and Hugh only came with Sky to Route 5 so they could find a Hidden Grotto. So far, their time had been wasted. Sky didn't seem to know where he was going.

"I wish we stayed behind." Hugh muttered when Sky was out of earshot.

Amos shrugged. "I don't know, it's better than staying with Leia. She would've made us go with her to the gym."

"Here we go! Here is your grotto!" Sky Blue yelled from a head.

Amos turned a corner to see Sky standing next to a clump of large trees. He could see a small passageway in between two trees.

"The grotto is in there?" asked Hugh as he walked next to Amos.

"Positive. I lived in one, so I should know." Sky replied, leaning against one of the trees.

"So what's in a grotto?" Amos asked, looking into the small grotto. He couldn't see beyond the passageway.

"Well, pokemon will sometimes take refuge in there. So, you can find pokemon, or sometimes you can find items that pokemon have hidden in them." the older trainer explained.

"You're sure it's safe?" said Hugh, giving Sky a suspicious look.

"Yep. Wouldn't have shown you this place if it would've killed you guys."

Amos and Hugh exchanged looks before entering the small passageway. They didn't exactly trust him.

It was dark, as if the sun light never reached this part of this forest. It was dead silent. It was almost like the place was dead.

"Do you think Sky lied?" whispered Hugh nervously.

Amos didn't answer right away. He thought he heard something ahead.

Something suddenly let out a high pitched yowl and slashed at Amos's chest. The two boys yelled and ran back toward the entrance, not looking back.

"Get out of my grotto!" a voice shrieked. Amos had forgotten about the hearing aid Sky had given him.

"Packs!" Amos shouted and threw a pokeball behind him.

He didn't turn around until he was out of the grotto. Packs was dodging attacks from a large Liepard.

Hugh also theories a pokeball and yelled, "Pidove!"

Sky, who was laughing like a mad man, threw one of his pokeballs into the air and gasped out, "Jo Jo!"

The Liepard turned its green eyes toward the flash of red light to see what had caused it. Hugh's Pidove flew out of the light, but whatever pokemon Sky had sent out was nowhere in sight.

"Packs, use Bite!" shouted Amos. The Patrat gave a screech and bit into the Liepard's neck.

"Wing Attack!" Hugh ordered the Pidove. Pidove twittered loudly and started slashing at the Liepard's sides and face.

"Jo Jo, Bug Bite" Sky yelled at thin air. "Oh, yes, yes!" a small voice hissed in reply.

The Liepard yowled and started biting at its own throat. Then he saw it. A small, bright yellow bug pokemon was clinging to the front on the Liepard. It was apparently biting into its opponent's neck.

"Get away, get away, I tell you!" The Liepard yowled.

"No!" snapped Packs as he swung his tail into the Liepard's face.

"Tackle!" Amos yelled, as the Liepard made to escape. The Patrat slammed into the opponent's chest, knocking the wind out of its lungs.

"Peck!" said Hugh as the Liepard made to scratch the Pidove's stomach. Pidove dodged the blow and started pecking at the cat pokemon's face. 

"Finish with ThunderShock!" Sky Blue shouted at the Joltik, still clinging to the Liepard's chest.

A deafening shriek seemed to echo all around the forest as Jo Jo released electricity from its body. The Liepard gave a final screech before running back into the grotto, Jo Jo leaping off.

"That wasn't funny, Sky!" Hugh finally snapped at Sky Blue, who was giggling madly again.

He stopped after a minute and said, "Maybe because you don't have a sense of humor!"

"I've never seen a Joltik before. Not around home, I mean." said Amos, watching Jo Jo crawl on top of Sky's head.

"You find them around Chargestone Cave. They're very common there. She's my only female pokemon, so I treasure her dearly." Sky told them. "And by the way, your pokemon are evolving."

At this, Hugh and Amos whirled around to see the Patrat and Pidove glowing white, just like Oliver and Pignite did. The pokemon grew taller and the glowing stopped.

Packs had large yellow and red eyes, and had dark brown fur with yellow stripes. Pidove now had a black tuft on the back of his head, and had pinkish red markings above his eyes.

"I must be the reason for all this good fortune." Sky Blue said, sarcastically.

"Your more responsible for the bad fortune." sneered Hugh.

"I gotta fight him on that one!"  Amos heard Jo Jo pipe up.

"Yeah, I gotta fight you on that one as well!" Packs snapped, his tail twitching slightly.

"You do look mighty tasty." said the Tranquill, staring at the Joltik with a hungry expression.

"Well, why do you think I'm here? To give you support?" said Sky as he ran toward the Route 5 path, giggling slightly. Amos could hear Jo Jo giggling as well.

Hugh snorted and looked at Amos. "I'm surprised White likes him. I have never seen two completely different people." he said in a low voice.

"Well, opposites attract, remember?" Amos replied, smiling slightly.

"But he's not completely sane, though. Just look at everything he does. He's a bit of a... a... a mad man." said Hugh, hesitantly. Amos didn't answer as he returned Packs to his pokeball.

He had thought about how Sky Blue acted for awhile. Amos had come to the conclusion that Sky wasn't as insane as he acted. He thought that he might be pretending to be 'insane' so no one would go searching for him. Any person who could make inventions that let a human understand pokemon had to be the most targeted person in the world.

Team Plasma would probably be dying to have someone like Sky Blue on their side. They would probably offer him anything to have him.

Would he join their side though? Would he join the enemy? Would Sky Blue join Team Plasma if offered glory, or something more?

But Sky had lost things from assisting in taking Team Plasma down. He had lost his right eye, and almost lost his life from what White said. Maybe if they threatened him with more than his life, maybe he would join Team Plasma. But what did Sky Blue care for more than his own life?

"Which way did the mad man go?" Hugh asked, interrupting Amos' thoughts.

Amos looked around quickly. "He went that way, I think," he replied, pointing to his right.

"Do you think Leia finished her battle yet? It's probably around three in the afternoon." said Hugh as they starting walking back.

Amos shrugged. "I don't know, but she either lost or won."

"I hope she loses." Hugh snickered, "She wins way to often."

"That's not-" but Amos stopped speaking.

Sky Blue was kneeling on the ground a head of them, digging up something in the ground.

"What are you doing?" he asked Sky as they came closer.

Sky didn't answer as he dug out what looked like a very round, dirty stone. Sky looked up at them and smiled.

"Beauty, isn't it?" he giggled, a slightly creepy smile on his face.

Hugh was staring at Sky as if he really was a insane person. So Sky was a bit insane.

"It's... nice." Amos said awkwardly, trying not to laugh.

Sky Blue smirked and stood up. Hugh started walking away, and Amos followed.

He looked back at Sky to see him rubbing at the stone. As he rubbed the stone, Amos saw the true color of the stone. The stone was a very light greenish blue color, and it sparkled slightly.

A Dawn Stone.

Amos turned away. Hugh hadn't looked back. He was muttering something, and Amos caught a few words like "Sky Blue", "Mad man", and "Insane".

They soon reached the main route. Route 5 was a place where street performers came and did certain acts. Amos had heard Sky Blue and White talking about when the two of them performed some kind of act on the route. He had guessed that they had done something that involved White's guitar.

A small crowd of people surrounded a man with guitar. He had a Scraggy and a Mandibuzz next to them, apparently mimicking him.

"Amos! Hugh! Where have you been? Where's Sky Blue?" a voice asked.

They turned to see Leia running toward them, smiling widely.

"Sky Blue is still out in the woods, there. We were looking for those Hidden Grottos." Amos explained.

"I beat the gym! Mira, White, and I just came down here!" She said breathlessly.

"Does that mean we're going to Driftveil City now?" asked Hugh. Leia suddenly frowned, looking a bit upset.

"Well... the problem is," Leia started slowly. "Is that White doesn't want to go to Driftveil City. If we do, she will just move onto Mistralon City by herself."

*Le Gasp* WHY DOES SHE WANT TO AVOID DRIFTVEIL CITY?!

Here's a hint: The people are in Driftveil City in the BW2 game

Next chapter maybe short, so don't expect much.

BUT BIG THINGS ARE COMING. SAD AND GOOD.

Me and my friend had a conversation about White, Sky Blue, and Amos. I have been having a hard time about who will be shipped: WhiteXAmos or WhiteXSky.

We only agreed on one thing- White and Sky Blue are so cute together <3 Lol (*Slap myself* I SHOULDN'T LAUGH AT LOVE)

So we might find a bit of romance soon, but I'm not saying how it will end. Might end terribly, idk (Lol, I'm so evil to poor Whitney)
