Chapter 13
Chapter 13
"Packs, Bite!" Amos commanded his Patrat.
Packs screeched and bit down on the opposing Lillipup's tail. The Lillipup yowled and fell over, showing that it had fainted.
"Well, at least your Patrat is getting stronger," Leia sighed, who was standing a few feet behind Amos. "I would have caught it though."
"You want to catch every pokemon, Leia. Any pokemon that is small and cute." Hugh pointed out, who was standing next to his sister.
"That pokemon was a little weak to catch. I need to catch strong pokemon." said Amos.
"Every strong pokemon starts somewhere!" Leia retorted.
"Yeah, but sometimes I want a pokemon that is already strong!"
"Look, can we move along? We have been on this route for two days! White is already in Virbank City!" Hugh complained.
"You're right, let's go." Amos sighed and returned his Patrat to its pokeball.
Leia glared at Amos as she started to run ahead and into a group of trees.
"Lets throw her in the river!" Hugh whispered to Amos with a grin on his face.
"Not right now. White would kill us if she found out we dumped her in a river." Amos snickered.
The boys heard a squeal which meant that Leia had found a pokemon. "What did you find now? A very rare Sewaddle?" Hugh said sarcastically.
"Guys, come quick! It's a Hydreigon!" they heard Leia yell.
"What?!" Amos shouted. "Are you serious?! You better not be messing with us!"
"Yes, come quick!"
"Move it!" Hugh snapped at Amos, and he pushed him out of the way. The boys ran into the trees where Leia had went.
Leia wasn't lying. A large Hydreigon was flying a few feet off the ground, a Purrloin perched on its shoulder. Leia's Riolu and Snivy were both out, and both looked horrified.
"It's huge!" Hugh gasped after seeing the three headed Dragon Type.
"I'm gonna catch it! We'll be unstoppable if we catch it!" Leia squeaked excitedly.
Amos threw two pokeballs into the air, and his Oshawott and Patrat leapt out.
"It will take all of our pokemon to take it down!" said Hugh, and he to let out his Pidove and Tepig.
The Purrloin sneered and meowed something to the Hydreigon. The Hydreigon gave a growl, and it shot a dark purple beam at them.
"Duck!" Amos cried, as all three of them leapt back.
Severusa the Snivy wailed and ran into Tepig, who snapped at her. Oliver gasped and fell over onto Packs.
"Pidove, Wing Attack! Tepig, Ember!"
"Severusa, Vine Whip! Riolu, Force Palm!"
"Oliver, Water Gun! Packs, Bite!"
All pokemon acted at once. Severusa and Riolu's attacks hit Hydreigon's chest, Oliver and Tepig hit its neck, and Packs and Pidove hit its arm and face.
Hydreigon roared and the Purrloin screeched. The three headed dragon started to shoot more purple pulses at them, hitting all the pokemon. Hugh grabbed Amos and Leia pulled them back, nearly missing a pulse.
Their pokemon let out cries of protest, and all of them fell to the ground.
"It's too strong!" Leia squeaked.
"No kidding! It's almost like..." Amos started. Then it clicked. "Wait a sec, I get it!" he yelled.
"What?" Hugh asked.
"The Purrloin! It's also fighting! It might know Asset, which makes it use any move within its team! It might be using a move that strengthens Hydreigon's Attack stats, or lowers our Defense stats!" explained Amos, pointing toward the Purrloin who was meowing gleefully.
"It's possible, but how do we know for sure?" Leia asked. Amos turned to face the Hydreigon again.
"Packs, use Tackle on the Purrloin! Oliver, use Water Gun also on the Purrloin!" he ordered.
Packs and Oliver made noises of approval and they both rammed into the Purrloin. It screeched as Oliver squirted water in its face, and Packs tackled it to the ground.
"Riolu, Force Palm once more on Hydreigon! Severusa, Leer on Hydreigon!" Leia told her pokemon.
They screeched and Riolu smacked Hydreigon chest with his palm. Snivy leered at it, which made it shudder.
"Ember and Wing Attack again!" Hugh shouted. Tepig oinked and shot fire at Hydreigon's face, and Pidove hit its neck.
The Hydreigon roared and swayed. Their attacks seemed to do a lot more damage than before.
"Let's try a pokeball!" Leia yelled, and she threw an empty pokeball at the Dragon type. Hydreigon roared once again as the pokeball hit its head. However, it bounced off it as if it was nothing.
"It didn't work!" Amos said in disbelief. "It only does that if it belongs to someone already!" Hugh exclaimed.
"Maybe because they both are my pokemon," a voice said behind them. The three of them whirled around to see who had spoken.
A man in his late teens, almost in his early twenties, was standing behind them. He had long light green hair that reached half way down his back. He looked frustrated with them.
"Wait, their yours?!" Leia squeaked timidly. The man nodded and walked over to the Hydreigon and Purrloin.
"I am impressed, though. No one notices that Purrloin ever fights," admitted the man, taking the Purrloin in his arms.
Amos said nothing. He was looking at the man's face. He reminded him of someone, but he couldn't figure out who.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go. If you're looking for Virbank City, it's ten minutes north." the man continued as he climbed onto the Hydreigon's back, and it flew off.
"That was a bit embarrassing." Hugh finally muttered.
"No kidding. At least we got to train a bit!" Leia pointed out, returning her pokemon to their pokeballs while Amos and Hugh did the same.
"Let's avoid pokemon for the rest of the way, ok? Even if it turns out to be Mew itself." Amos suggested.
"I will agree with that." agreed Leia, and she started to walk again.
Hugh looked at Amos and asked quietly, "You ok?"
"Yeah, why?" Amos replied as Hugh shrugged.
"Nothing, just asking." he said innocently, and he ran after his sister.
Amos looked up to the place where the Hydreigon flew off. The tactic of that Purrloin was on his mind. Ordinary Purrloins usually are weak, or have evolved into their final form. The man's Purrloin seemed strong for its kind. Amos than realized who the Zoroark must belong to, and where Purr the Purrloin was.
