Chapter 23
Jefferson slowly peered through the window to check on his magical human. It appeared fine, she was doing her usual after-school routine. Grabbing a snack and drink, taking it to her room and flinging her book bag onto the bed. It didn't seem that anything was wrong, but something just seemed a little off. He couldn't quite figure out what. Then after a moment off deep reflection, he wondered if it was just his own paranoia and worry, because of the new soul they'd be in charge of watching?
That very well might be the case but he wasn't entirely sure. He stayed there watching over her through the window. He could have gone in, but he didn't know if she's sense him. He watched as she did her homework, then the sketching and back to her magical studies. He thought everything seemed good, then headed back to the tree.
Swiftly he climbed back up the tree and sat next to his elder as always.
"Anything to report with our prodigy?" He asked Jefferson.
"Not that I could see. What of our new soul?"
"He's not been born yet."
"I don't think he'll be trouble the minute he's born." Jefferson replied.
"How do you know that for sure?"
"I don't, but I've got a gut feeling." He told the elder.
Jameson just crossed his arms and glared at the spirit guide to be. After staring at him for what seemed like forever the elder finally spoke up.
"We'll just have to wait and see what happens."
"Yes sir." Jefferson replied.
The two sat in the tree in dead silence for the next few hours when they saw a strange beam of yellow orange light. After a good ten seconds it faded away into nothing.
"What was that?" Jefferson asked in a nervous tone.
"I believe one of the dark souls has just been born." The elder spirit replied.
