Chapter 18

As the two spirit guides sat in the tree worrying over the dark souls, Joline was lost in a deep slumber.  She tossed and turned as the images flashed in her mind, iterupting her peaceful dream state. The symbols looked to be from some ancient language she couldn't understand. Jolting upright in bed as if she'd been struck by lightning in her sleep, quickly grabbing the notebook she flipped on the light and scribbled furiously in it. She needed to scribble it down before the images were lost in a fog of forgotten thoughts.

When she was finished, Joline sat there for a moment. None of the dreams ever made sense. There didn't seem to be one single ounce of logic to any of them. Glancing over to her nightstand clock the numbers read three-forty-eight a.m. Quickly climbing back into bed, she knew that her alarm for school would go off in about three hours. That time would be here before she knew it.

As the next few weeks quickly progressed, so did her magical talents. Soon the gifted mortal had found her rhythm. Joline had a gift for visions, dreams , potions and had already started working with illusion and thought placement magic. She was amazed, everyday she learned something new and had already filled several spell and dream books.

Jefferson peeked in on her for a moment, glad to see she was exactly where she needed to be on her spirit path. It was one less worry for not only himself but Jameson as well.  It wasn't much but it helped. They were both in a deep as the soul panic over the dark ones that would be reincarnated on earth. Both guides thought this was going to end in a huge disaster, but they weren't in charge of this operation, Divinity had control over it. Jefferson prayed that the angel knew what she was doing.

All seemed calm as jefferson and his mentor took turns checking on the young prodigy witch until she had finally gone to sleep.  The two guides began to relax a little. As the next few hours slowly passed them all seemed right with the mortal and spirit realms. Jefferson watched the stars as Jameson worried so much he could sense it. Jefferson didn't worry as much, having a feeling that everything was going to be fine. These souls will require a little more attention that's all.

Then Jefferson happened to look to the ground to see Joline's spirit standing there staring at him with a child-like wonderment. He froze for a few seconds then nudged Jameson.

"What is she doing?" Jefferson whispered.

"Oh crap. She can see us." Jameson replied.
