Replacment (3/3)

In which some kid named Harvey comes, out of nowhere mind you, and steals Peter's spotlight. Tony is ignoring him, the Avengers are drifting, and Peter doesn't want to stay at the tower anymore. A little momma love can go a long way.

Pepper had decided to have a few words with Tony and the other avengers. She would not stand for Peter, who was basically her own son, to be treated this way.

She didn't do it alone though, she took May and Natasha. The three ladies had managed to get the avengers to all be in one rooms, Harvey out running errands.

Peter was at school when the ladies ganged up on the Avengers. He didn't know it was going to happen so soon.

"What's this about, Pep?" Tony spoke up first. The others just sat there, looking for answers as to why they were there.

It was a convention setup. The avengers in a half circle, some of them having to sit behind the others.

The power trio stood in the front, standing in front of a screen used generally for meetings. They're faces saying everything while also explaining nothing at all.

Nat started, her voice booming with rage, "you guys act like you've forgotten Peter? This is an asshole move after everything he did for you!"

Nat wasn't one to miss things but she was angry, she was seething. She didn't notice the confusion in everyone's eyes, the complete lack of recognition people would normally have.

Pepper and May saw it though, they looked in everyone's eyes and saw the confusion, they saw the questions the others held.

Tony dated to speak once more, "who's Peter?"

Nat realized then. They didn't know, they didn't remember. She was angry but a sadness took root deep inside her. The need to cry or scream or something to get them to remember took over her.

The three girls left. They couldn't just talk this out of them. Something affected the avengers, taking away the rock that held them together. The avengers were being attacked from the inside.

And they knew who was attacking.

To say that people didn't expect an avenger, the most powerful woman in the world, and someone's random aunt to show up in a random grocery store in New York would be the truth.

The whole store felt like it was in shock. People didn't notice the anger in the three woman's eyes though. Well, one person did and they took of running. Harvey.

Nat sprinted after him immediately, got on his tail. May and Pepper watched the exits, making it so he wouldn't be able to leave the store.

Nat got him in a few minutes, the long isles and quick turns making it harder to get him. When she did, he started yelling and twisting in her grip. She didn't let go though, didn't even loosen her grip.

"What do you want with the avengers?" She asked, venom on her tongue.

"Please, please. Nothing! I want to go, you crazy lady!" Harvey yelled in response.

"You're not going anywhere until you undo whatever you did to the avengers."

"Fine, fine I will! Just let me go."

He stared in her eyes, a gleam in them. Suddenly, her thoughts were filled with Harvey. She grunted and remembered peter quickly.

The boy brought so much more sunshine to her life than this random guy who was tricking the avengers.

"The only place I'm letting you go is to the tower to reverse this."

She forced Harvey up and called the other girls to go with her. Harvey complies easily not letting any words out. He didn't count on this not working, he thought for sure it would.

"Let me go!" he called again, knowing it wouldn't affect them. He tried again and again until they reached the tower.

The avengers had since scattered but Pepper and May easily got them to go back to the meeting room.

"We have something to tell you," May started.

Pepper continued, "this boy here has Bren mind controlling you."

Nat gave Harvey's neck a painful squeeze until he undid the mind control, letting the other avengers out of their trance.

"What happened?" Steve asked first, before Tony could even talk.

"The only one who can remember what happened it Tony. I needed him to forget Peter entirely by creating new memories," Harvey whispered to Nat.

Tony looked horrified. He rushed out of the room to god knows where. The other avengers brainstormed what to do with the liar of a boy, Harvey.

-_-_-_-_-

Peter was in English when the phone rang. Immediately, Peter's head was in overdrive. What if it was something really bad for him? What if May died and they were telling him now?

But it was a simple call for a classmate to go. Then, it rang again 10 minutes later for Peter.

"What a class period to be called down in! Peter, tell me the answer to number 10 and then you can go," his English teacher stated.

"D is the correct spelling of conversation. Bye, sir."

Going to the office was nerve wracking. Thankfully, his nerves were squashed when he got there. Sadly, the nerves had become sadness.

Tony was there, looking like he'd been through hell and back.

"Peter?" He asked as soon as the door had opened. Peter walked through and was shocked and sad at who he saw.

"Mr. Stark."

"Oh, my god kid. I'm so sorry for how I treated you. Harvey is getting arrested as we speak."

Tony engulfed Peter in a hug, so happy he got to see his kid again.

"We all snapped out of it, we'll treat you like a king, just please forgive us all. Me especially, I'm so sorry."

Peter hesitated but responded quickly, "I forgive you. All of you."

"Come on, kid. I signed you out. We're going to hang out the rest of the day, okay?"

"Okay."

Peter and Tony hung out the rest of the day. Maybe the power trio had supervised a little, just to make sure they were okay!

Everything was better now. Peter was back at home.
