It was just another average day for Peter Parker, also known as the infamous Spider-Man. Peter woke up in his twin bed, greeted his Aunt May with a kiss before she left for work, took the crowded subway to school, went to classes that were way to easy for him, got bullied by Flash in the hallway, went to decathlon practice after school, found an alley, and changed into his suit, and began another long night of patrol.

Patrol went as usual, robberies, muggings, lost pets, helping people cross the streets, the same old same old. Peter checked the watch that Mr. Stark had recently given him for his sixteenth birthday, he had two more hours left of patrol until his curfew. After finding out that Peter was Spider-Man, Aunt May told Peter he could continue to be the crime-fighting spider as long as he was home by no later than midnight.

May usually went to bed at ten because of her job, so when Peter stayed out a little longer than he was supposed to, she was none the wiser. And judging by how much crime had picked up in the past few days, tonight would be another long night.

Tony was startled awake by FRIDAY alerting him to an incoming call. The sleepy billionaire grumbled as he rolled over to answer his phone. Tony glanced at his alarm clock and became even more frustrated when he discovered it was three in the morning. What the hell did someone want at this time?

Contrary to popular belief, Tony did need his beauty sleep. But when FRIDAY announced that it was May Parker calling, all traces of sleep left his system. It was May Parker. She only ever called when something was wrong with Peter.

Ever since the events of Civil War, Tony and Peter had become closer. Tony had become a mentor to Peter, and although he wouldn't admit it, he cherished his time with Peter. The kid was hard not to love, the way he could talk your ear off all day, or the fact that he had a heart of gold and would never hurt a fly. Tony invited Peter over to work in his lab every Friday night. They would stay up all night, working on upgrading both of their suits, exchanging their ideas on how to make their suits better. Afterward, they would go up to the lounge and watch a movie together.

"What's wrong, May?" Tony asked as he accepted the early morning call.

"It's Peter. I went into his room to see if he was back from patrol, and his bed is empty. I usually cut him some slack if he's only an hour late, but he's never been this late before. I'm freaking out Tony, what if something happened to him? What if he's hurt? Oh, God, what if he's dead?" May stammered with panic.

"Woah, Woah, Woah, calm down, May. Take a deep breath. I'm sure Peter's just fine. I'll find him, I promise," Tony assured Peter's panicking aunt.

"Thank you so much, Tony! I swear that kid is trying to send me to an early grave," May grumbled as she hung up the phone.

Tony sighed, he really hoped Peter was unharmed. He saw Peter almost like his own kid and would be devastated if anything ever happened to him.

"Hey, FRIDAY, track Peter's location on his watch," Tony told the AI. Tony was grateful he had installed a tracking device, among other things, in the watch he had given Peter. He needed to make sure that he could keep track of Peter at all times and make sure the kid was safe, but Peter would probably object to being monitored seeing as he had somehow managed to disable the tracker in his suit, so Tony kept the watch's many features a secret from the spiderling.

"I have located Mr. Parker, Sir. Sending you his coordinance now," FRIDAY informed Tony.

Tony took off in the IronMan suit to the location of the soon to be grounded teenager. It took Tony nearly twenty minutes to locate Peter, having to refresh the coordinance every couple of minutes to update Peter's current location.

Peter yawned with exhaustion, the countless late nights on patrol were finally starting to catch up with him. Peter had just saved a woman who looked to be in her late twenties from being mugged by four low life criminals. The criminals had gotten a couple of good hits on Peter due to the teen's growing exhaustion.

Peter sat on the edge of a building holding his sore jaw and wiping away the blood from his busted nose. Peter began to zone out when he was snapped back into awareness by the all too familiar sound of the IronMan suit.

"Aw shit," Peter whispered under his breath. Why was Mr. Stark here? Wait, crap, what time was it? How did he even know where Peter was?

Tony landed with a thud behind Peter. The teenager refused to turn around and face his mentor's face of disappointment.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, do you know what time it is?" thundered Tony as he walked closer to Peter.

"Umm... I'm going to take a guess and say past my curfew?" Peter stammered nervously.

"You're damn right its past your curfew! It's three in the morning! Do you know how worried your aunt is! Do you know how worried I was when I got a call from your aunt at this time of night! I thought something bad might have happened to you!" Tony ranted angrily, letting all of his worry and frustration out on Peter. "Look at me when I'm talking to you! You need to start thinking about other people Peter, not just yourself! God, what would I have done if you died Peter! It would be all my fault."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark! I just lost track of time!" Peter cried. "I just don't feel like I deserve to go home and rest while other people are out here suffering and dying. When I'm out here, I feel like I'm making a difference. The bad guys don't have a curfew, and after I go home, there's no one to stop them anymore."

"Kid," Tony drawled, having calmed down substantially now that he knew the kid was safe and out of danger, "you can't save everyone, believe me, I've tried. No matter what you do, there are some things you just can't do anything about. That's the way life goes sometimes."

Peter sighed, "I know Mr. Stark. It's just hard not to blame myself every time something bad happens, I always feel like it's my fault somehow ya know? I was given these powers for a reason, what's the point of having them if I can't save anyone?"

"Oh Peter," Tony sighed, "not everything is your responsibility. You have a heart of gold, and I know you want to save everyone, but you need to give yourself a break. I know I don't say this enough, but I'm proud of you, kiddo."

"Thanks, Da-- I mean Mr. Stark," Peter quickly corrected himself.

"Nope, you said it, no more of this 'Mr. Stark' crap, from now on its dad," Tony said, his heart filled with joy at the fact that Peter had called him dad. "Now let's get you home. You're in so much trouble with that attractive aunt of yours."
