Stark Tower

Peter's Room

10:09 A.M.

Peter's hands drew up to his face, covering his eyes as his tears streamed. His teeth clenched as his body shook as he cried. Pietro and Clint shared a concerned glance, and Clint lightly patted the boy's back in a slight comfort. The three of them were silent apart from Peter's small whimpers and weeps.

Living Room

Steve looked at the clock. It was 10:13. They were in Peter's room for more than thirty minutes.

"What do you think they're doing in there?" Steve asked, looking around the room. He was washing the dishes, the group had just finished breakfast and were relaxing calmly in the living room. They all shared glances, some of them shrugging.

"Do you think they got him mad and now trapped in a spider web waiting to be consumed?" Tony asked, glancing at the wall. Sam tilted his head.

"No. I don't think that he's a cannibal, Tony," Natasha answered, a grin slipping at her mouth. Tony shrugged,

"Could happen. I dunno, it's too early to be asking questions," Tony swatted her off. Natasha just shrugged at the billionaire. Wanda shifted in her seat, clearly uncomfortable. Steve noticed this.

"What's wrong, Wanda?" he asked, and everyone's gazes shifted to the girl. She bit her lip, thinking about what to say.

"If I'm going to reveal anything," Wanda said slowly, "then I want to do it somewhere he can't hear us." Everyone shared confused looks. Tony started to get up.

"Alright," he said, walking towards the elevator. "Let's go to a conference room, it's soundproof."

Conference Room -Now Soundproof!-

Everyone sat in their seats, locking Wanda with a curious gaze.

"Well," Wanda said, glancing at anything but their aces, "when I looked into his mind, I saw some pretty graphic and horrible things about his past." Surprise took over most of their faces. The boy was so happy and making jokes all the time, shouldn't he have a good life?

"Like what?" pressed Steve. Wanda took a deep breath, rattling off all the terrible things in his life.

"He was bullied," Steve noticeably tensed at that. "and his parents died at a very young age. His uncle soon passed as well. That's all I really know as to of now," Wanda breathed out. The room was silent, everyone thinking different thoughts.

"He was bullied?" Bruce asked. "I find that surprising." He pressed his glasses up his nose.

"Well," Tony said, breathing out his thoughts, "if he got his powers somewhere after he started school, and he was bullied before he got his powers, then wouldn't that make sense?" Everyone nodded.

"Perhaps he is just explaining why he got shot last night." Natasha reasoned. Everyone slowly nodded in agreement.

"C'mon," Steve said, standing up. "Let's get back before they figure out we were gone and ask questions."

Outside of Peter's Room

Pietro and Clint walked out of Peter's room, leaving the boy to some time to himself.

"Jeez," Clint said, racking his hand through his hair. "that was intense." Pietro nodded at him.

They walked into the kitchen and living area just in time to see everyone walking out of the elevator. Pietro gave them a questioning look.

"Where were you?" he asked. Steve just shook his head.

"Hey Bruce," Tony said, looking at the scientist. "Why don't we go and show Peter the labs?" Bruce brightened up a bit, nodded with a small smile on his lips.

Tony walked down the hallway, hands in pockets. He knocked on Peter's door, waiting for a reply.

"Y-Yeah?" Peter's rang.

"Hey Peter, do you want to head to the labs with Bruce and me?" Tony asked calmly, talking through the door.

"Yeah that would be awesome!" Peter's voice sounded slightly forced, but for the most part held excitement.

"Alright then get out here!" Tony shouted through the door. He heard Peter laugh a small bit behind the door and smiled at it. He waited patiently as Peter gathered himself and opened the door. The sight broke Tony's heart. Peter's hair was all over the place, his eyes red and puffy, and his cheeks were red from rubbing the tears away. Tony ignored it, stepping out of the way. Peter walked past him, then stopped, waiting for Tony to lead. Tony walked past him, leading him to the living room and elevator.

Everyone couldn't help but stare at Peter, but nobody dared asking. Bruce hopped off his chair, following the two to the elevator.

"Jarvis, labs,"

"Yes, sir."

Labs

Peter awed at the lab. He did nothing but squeal at the equipment. Tony and Bruce shared an amused glance, walking over to their own stuff.

"Wanna see what we're working on?" Tony asked, walking over to his and Bruce's workstation. Peter jumped with joy, following the two men.

"We are trying to figure out how to get my armor to withstand heats that would leave fire throbbing, and keep the oxygen clean throughout the suit. We're having some trouble with finding the right formula that can withstand a large amount of temperatures below zero and above," Tony said, clearly annoyed.

"We're having a slight trouble with figuring out the right components, and the right equations," Bruce explained, pointing to a whiteboard full of equations regular <and dumb people like this writer> would leave their heads spinning. Peter took a quick glance at the work on the white board. After a few seconds, Peter shook his head in shame. He sighed, walking up to the whiteboard.

"No no you see you have this all wrong," Peter said, taking the eraser and wiped off all of their work. Tony's mouth hung open, and Bruce looked a tad off from Hulking out.

"What are you doing?" Tony screeched. Peter just smiled to himself, grabbing a marker and writing out equations. He didn't stop once, sure of his work. Once he was done, he capped the marker and stepped aside, letting the two scientists look over his work. After a few moments, Bruce's mouth was hanging open, and Tony's was lying on the floor.

"This is brilliant!" Bruce exclaimed, looking at Peter with an amazed look. Peter smiled hesitantly.

"Bruce we have to start on this immediately!" Tony screeched, stealing Bruce's hand and hauling him off to their workstation. Peter stood by the whiteboard, questioning what he should do silently.

"Go and do whatever you want but try not to break anything!" Tony screamed from were he and Bruce were. Peter smiled to himself as he walked to his own little workstation. He clipped off his webshooters and started to work.

12:38 A.M.

Tony and Bruce were almost done with their little experiment, and Peter was just testing out his experiment. Tony walked over to Peter, taking a little break, sneaking a glance over his shoulder.

"Watcha working on?" he asked the teenager. Peter shot at the wall, webbing going off in a blink of an eye.

"Try to break it, yeah?" Peter asked, watching carefully as Tony used all his strength to break the webbing. Tony pulled and pulled, but couldn't do it.

"It's strong, kid." Tony huffed, walking away. Peter nodded, walking forward. He snapped the web with a karate chop. Tony's eyes widened as he realized how weak he was without his armor. He huffed.

"It needs to be stronger."

"You've got to be kidding me," Tony said. Peter shook his head, a grin at his lips.

"Nope. Faster too," Peter said.

"Isn't it fast enough?" Tony asked. Peter's stare became very serious.

"No."
