Welcome to Asguard

Probably my favourite one to date not gonna lie!

---

You would never think that Loki, God of Mischief would be good with children. What with his slight murderous tendancies that vary from moment to moment. But on Asgard he was known for his remarkable ability of controlling the kids. Servant entrusted their children with him whilst they were working in the castle.

That's why he began to sit with Heimdall of the evenings, talking to him about the people he has seen and the things he has been unable to prevent. Loki wants to know that the children he will one day be in charge of are safe in their realms.

"My Prince you are early today." Heimdall stated as Loki timidly sat down on the steps. He looked out to the large circular opening in wonder, gazing at the realms his father swore to protect.

"Father was bugging me and Thor was being annoying. I needed a break." Loki huffed resting his head in his hands. "Can you tell me about the boy again."

Heimdall recently started to keep an eye on a particular young boy who,due to his foresight, he knows will grow up to be a strong hero for Midguard. However this small boy has been going through hell and Loki is not happy about it. Not when he knows what this boy will become.

Heimdall nodded and closed his eyes for a second to focus his mind on the boy. "He is on a walk with a man. I sense great distress and it appears he has been crying. They are in quite a remote part of New York, not many people from what I can sense. I fear for this boys safety Loki."

Loki has never heard such level of distress in his friends voice. Without hesitation Loki twisted the sword of the Bifrost and stepped into it. With his destination in mind Loki allowed the blinding tunnel of light to pick him up and shoot him between realms.

Heimdall nodded his head at the Prince's actions. People really need to look beyond the surface of people like Loki. There is so much more to him than you first think.

Loki landed on rough concrete, stones embedding themselves in his palm. He cursed as he pulled them out. Why does Midguard have such terrible landing spot?

The god looked around and quickly spotted the boy. His blood boiled at the horrific sight. Loki whispered a spell and the older man went flying into the opposite wall with a yelp. The young boy ran to his saviour despite not knowing his identity. The signs of true distress.

"What the hell man!" The man exclaimed, standing up and brushing of his clothes. Loki snarled and stepped closer, enjoying the pure fear in his eyes.

"What were you doing to him?" He said, scarily calm.

"I- We were going for a walk weren't we Peter." The boy whimpered and clutched Loki's cape in fear.

"Don't talk to him talk to me you coward."

"Look give me the kid and no one gets hurt." Loki suppressed a laugh. Puny human trying to intimidate a god.

"Oh you will get hurt either way, so I think he will stay with me." Loki took another menacing step, summoning a knife out of thin air. The man's eyes widened and he fled, not wanting to get stabbed.

Upon his much desired exit Loki crouched down to face Peter.

"I got you, you're okay Peter." Loki cooed, patting his shoulder.

"Th-thank you. Skip was a mean man." Peter said in his adorable six year old voice. Loki's heart melted.

"Where do you live, I should probably get you home."

"I don't have a home. I live in the orphanage. But it isn't very nice there. The older boys are mean, and the owners are just like Skip." The way Peter just states this fact as if it's nothing makes Loki want to cry. And Loki never cries.

"Oh- okay. Well I have an idea. How about you come with me to Asgard."

"Azzguard?" Peter said cocking his head.

"Yes that's where I'm from. I promise I will protect you there. No more bad people can hurt you."

Loki stood up and nodded to the sky, knowing Heimdall was watching. Loki then gripped Peter's shoudler and pulled him closer.

"Don't worry. This is going to be fun!"

Peter cheered the entire journey, occasionally reaching to touch the sides which Loki strongly advised against. Heimdall greeted the two when they returned, sending a proud look at the Prince.

Loki nodded back, knowing he has done the right thing to secure this boys future. The God picked the boy up and headed to the castle, slightly surprised to find the sun rising already.

---

"Loki why do you have a child?" Thor boomed from across the dining hall. Loki stopped in his tracks regretting not turning invisible.

"Why is he wearing Midguardian clothes? Loki did you steal a child!" Frigga exclaim rushing to take the child from her son. Peter clinged onto Loki for dear life, burying his head into the soft green cape.

"Mother Heimdall saw this boys future. He is destined to be a great hero. An event happened that put him at risk so I did what I had to to keep this boy safe."

Frigga's shocked expression was replaced with one of pure pride. Odin also looked uncharacteristically proud of his youngest son, which made Loki feel slightly weird.

"Peter it's okay, these people are my family. They wouldn't dare hurt you." Peter lifted his head slightly and smiled at Frigga.

"What will happen to him brother?" Thor asked, getting up from the table and joining his brother.

"I don't know. But until we figure it out Peter will stay here."

Loki's tone was not to be messed with. So Peter stayed. He stayed until he was fourteen years old, when Loki decided it would be best to take him back to Midguard so he can become the hero he was always meant to be.

"I will miss you Loki." Peter cried as he hugged the person he viewed as a big brother.

"I will visit you Pete, don't you worry." Loki said fondly ruffling his hair.

Peter waved a final goodbye before walking into Stark Towers. Heimdall said it was crucial for him to stay there, so Thor arranged it with Tony himself. Due to Peter's Asguardian schooling, he was extremely advanced in science and robotics, so Tony saw no problem in giving him a position at the tower.

Loki waved until Peter was well out of sight. He felt slightly empty now that Peter was gone. But he knew it wouldn't be forever. They will see eachother very soon.

He could never leave Peter.
Not after he promised to protect him.

Loki is a cinnamon roll and I refuse to believe that he didn't like kids.

Anyway thank you for reading. This is my favourite fic I have written this entire book!
