Peter's trip #2

carried on from last chapter. I forgot to say that the timeline for Merlin is different to the show. In this fic Merlin is nineteen years old.

I woke up on the same bed from earlier that day. Except now it was night and the room was full of concerned knights, Merlin, Gaius and the King.

"What happened?" I asked quietly, my head still throbbing slightly.

"You passed out." Merlin stated a little confused himself. The memories came back and I felt guilty.

"Sorry. I should have told you before. I get sensory overloads because of my powers. They are triggered by stress, this place is very stressful." I am met by kind smiles, making me feel slightly better.

A loud ding goes of and the knights draw their swords ready to attack. I couldn't hold back my laughs as I went over to pick up my mask. I put it on an unlocked Karen.

"Hello Peter, how can I be of assistance."

"Hi Karen, do I have a new message. There was an alert." A envelope icon pops up with a little 1 above it.

"It appears you do have one message. Opening now."

"Kid we can't get to you. Bruce, Stephen and I have tried everything we can. Strange even used the time stone. But nothing will work. I am so sorry I failed you kid." The message ended and I tore the mask of sending it flying into the wall. I collapsed back on the bed and began to cry, completely forgetting about the others in the room.

They can't get me back. If two of the smartest people on earth and a damn wizard can't get me home whats the hope for me?

"Peter, it's okay. We will figure out a way to get you home." Merlin said, drawing me into a hug which I melted into.

"How? You don't have any technology to send me home." I wept. Merlin inhaled sharply, seemingly contemplating whether or not to say something more.

"I know a way. I can use my magic to send you home."

"What!?" Arthur yells but Merlin gives him a stern look.

"Now really isn't the time for this discussion Arthur."

"I think it is!" All their shouting was making my head throb louder.

"No it's not Arthur. Once we have sent Peter home, then we can talk about this." Merlin yelled, standing up.

"Guys." I whisper holding my head. They ignore me.

"Merlin why didn't you tell me?"

"Like I could walk up to the Prince of Camelot and say 'Oh hey Arthur just so you know I am a warlock.' You would have killed me!"

"Guys." I say a little louder. The knights are to focused on the screaming battle going on to notice my discomfort.

"I don't think I would have." Arthur yelled.

"Well I didn't want to put you in that position."

"GUYS!" I scream. A burst of energy pulses through me and knocks everyone of their feet. All eyes land on me, slightly afraid of my outburst. If I'm being honest so am I.

"Wh- what was that?" A tall muscular knight, who I believe is called Percival stuttered.

"I don't know." I whispered looking down at my hands which felt like they were pulsing.

"Peter you have magic."

---

I could still hear the heated argument from my guest chamber. Merlin and Arthur had barely stopped and it has been two hours. It was stressing me the hell out. Not to mention I have magic. Magic! Why the hell do I have magic?

My breathing quickened and the candle light flickered. I could feel the magic clawing at my skin, begging to be released. The more I refuse the more painful it becomes. So I let it out. The fires extinguish and the chairs and table get blown into the wall. Any glass or ceramics shatter, causing a deafening bang.

I shake under the covers of the bed, wishing everything could go back to the way things were. When my life was normal. When I wasn't Spiderman.

The door bursts open and Merlin stands there in shock. "Peter you have to control it."

"Really? I wouldn't be having these outbursts if you and Arthur would have shut up when I asked." i yelled, my magic lashing out once more, sending the door of its hinges. "And don't you dare tell me to calm down because today I lost the closest thing to a family I have ever had, my best friends, my life and now my sanity. I am the furthest from calm."

My voice seems to shake the room sending small clouds of dust into the air. Merlin looked at me sternly and muttered a spell. "ηρεμία". My body went limp and waves of relaxation lapped over my body.

Merlin walked over to the bed and sat down next to me. "Feel better?" He asked with a knowing smile. I nodded and rested my head on the pillow. "I understand how you feel, Peter. I have lost everything. i had to watch my father die, then my mother. I had my magic taken from me at Camelot's time of need then abandoned Arthur to retrieve it. Now I may have lost my closest friends because of my magic. At least I can get you home. Now I fear I don't have one myself."

"I'm sorry this is all my fault. If I hadn't tried to make that stupid portal jumper none of this would have happened. Now I have ruined two lives." I felt close to tears again, Merlin looked as if he were about to cry as well.

"Well we still have eachother, right?" I whisper, sideling closer to the teen. A faint blush covers his cover and makes him look adorable.

"Yeah we do." Merlin whispers make, his blue orbs gazing at me lovingly. My stomach flutters uncontrollably and my breath hitches.

Merlin seems to sense the change in atmosphere as he leans closer to me so our noses brush.

"You're blushing." He states with a smirk. I roll my eyes and lean in myself, just touching my lips to his to see what he will do.

Since he doesn't react I pull back with a pout. Merlin chuckled lowly and tilts my head back.

"I like you." He hums as he captures my lips. I can't find the words to answer so I just deepen the kiss. If he notices the random objects floating around he either doesn't care or is to caught up in the moment to do anything.

When we pull back we are both gasping for breath and as red as tomatoes.

"I like you too."

"I figured." Merlin chuckled with his goofy crooked smile. It's weird, I have known this boy for a day yet I feel such unadulterated love for anyone. Not even MJ, and I have liked her since kindergarten.

A cough at the door alerted us to another's presence, namely Arthur and the Knights of the round table.

"Um...hi?" Merlin squeaks, turning a deeper shade of crimson.

"Meeting. Now." Arthur spits and storms away. Merlin gets up, shaking slightly. I squeeze his hand as a comfort and we headed to the throne room. Upon arrival I was ordered to wait outside. Arthur literally prayed our hands apart.

Shit have I messed up. Homosexuality has only just been accepted. During this time it is most likely a crime. Oh my god have I condemned Merlin to death.

No I won't let that happen. This is my fault, I won't let him get harmed for my actions.

I put my ear to the door and allow my enhanced hearing to take over. The conversation inside is not what I expected.

"What do you mean you don't want me with him? Who are you to tell me who to love."

"Merlin I'm not saying you can't date him. But he will have to leave eventually and you have to stay."

"I don't care Arthur."

"Well I do."

I couldn't bare anymore of the conversation. I whip round, knocking over a statue of armour in the process and run down the corridor. Thanks to me super speed, noone will be able to catch up to me.

I tear through the corridors until I end up in the courtyard. At the gate I hear a distant shout, but I ignore it. Villagers move out my way so I have a clear path to the edge of the city.

One day in this place and I have already ruined someone's life. Damn my Parker luck.

"Peter!" Merlin. How on earth is he keeping? I mentally facepalm, forgetting that he can use a spell to enhance his speed.

I force my legs to go faster, debating whether to use my webs or not. My natural ones aren't as strong as the ones in my suit but they still work. My mind made up I shoot a web to a battlement positioned on the edge of the city and launch myself up and over. I land in a tree, high up enough to be hidden from sight.

After about ten minutes I hear Merlin's teary voice call out my name. It takes everything I have not to respond.

"Peter please come out." I shake my head even though he can't see me.

"Peter."

Don't respond, don't respond.

"So when something gets sour you just run away." He yells, anger evident in his wavering voice.

"Yes. Because every time I get close to someone they either die or turn out to be a villain. So yes I am running and you should to." I yell from the tree. Merlin appears below me, looking up to see me perched like a bird on one of the highest branches.

"φτερουγίζω."

He rose to my level, eyes shining gold. He sits on a branch next to me and takes my hand.

"Peter you aren't going to lose me. The druids call me Emrys, I'm immortal." I gasp and turn to face him. Immortal isn't invincible, but it's enough to convince me he is powerful enough to a) resist attackers and b) know that he would never turn evil if his destiny makes him immortal.

"Good, because even though I have just met you I don't want you to leave." I admit, snuggling into his side.

"We should probably stay out here for the night. Arthur needs to cool of, I may have yelled at him...a lot."

I giggle like a school girl. "I can't believe you yelled at a king because he was shit talking me."

"Well he is a prat and needs to be taught some god damn manners." Merlin murmurs, kissing my cheek and floating the both of us back to the ground.

We stayed in the woods longer than expected. It was a week later that we returned to the citadel, fresh faced and beaming.

Arthur didn't return our glee. In fact he looked pissed.

"Where the hell have you been Merlin?"

"Why would you care." Merlin spat back. From their endless conversations, I had learned that Arthur has been really horrible to Merlin lately, and he has had just about enough of it.

Arthur seemed lost for words so he just sent us away. We headed to Gaius's chamber and settled down in Merlin's little room.

"We should get some sleep." Merlin whispers as the light drains from the room. I him in agreement and slip into Merlin's small bed.

----

It's been a month and I have honestly never been happier. Of course I miss the avengers like crazy, but Karen has been able so send the occasional message thanks to Mr Stark's amazing tech.

By now they know everything, except me and Merlin. I was planning to keep it that way. I would rather not have the teases when I return. If I return.

Merlin said he knew a spell, but it has never been discussed after that first mention. I know he doesn't want me to leave, but I have been planning a surprise that I think he will love.

I find him in the courtyard, fishing the bucket out the well.

"Hi Merlin." I say kissing him lightly on the cheek. People grimace at our affection but I just glare at them.

"Hi Peter. What's up."

"I need to talk to you. But not here." I grab his wrist and pull him into the castle. I head for an unused bedroom and lock the door behind us.

"So I have been thinking and I think I know a way for us to stay together when I leave." Merlin's eyes sparkled at the suggestion.

"How?"

"I have been working on a spell. You taught me so much about magic this past month and I think I am finally ready to try it." I explain the basis of the spell and Merlin's brow furrows.

"It's risky, but worth it. I think it will work." Merlin exclaimed pulling me into a hug.

"Should we get started?" Merlin nods and takes my hands just like I explained.

"όταν επιστρέψω στο χρόνο μου, θα με περιμένετε εκεί" I chant, after two or three incantations Merlin joins in and the strength of the spell doubles. Once we have finished I can tell it will work. We have been bound together. Nothing shall part us.

"I guess we will need to tell the others of this." Merlin said with a small spell. They had all agreed a week prior that any magic practiced must be reported to the Knights or Arthur himself.

"I guess. This will be a fun one to explain."

We headed to the training grounds, where the majority of the Knights, plus a very grumpy Arthur, were currently training.

Arthur noticed us first and perked up. He had forgiven us for our little disappearing act a week ago and has been quite sweet about the whole relationship.

"Merlin, Peter what's up. Did you use magic again." He asked with a hint of a smile.

"We did. But this is going to be a long one to explain." I said preparing the king. He nods and sits on one of the many benches.

"So I can up with this spell that will bind our souls together. When I travel back to my time, his dopelganger of sorts will receive all his memories of Camelot. This will not take him from your time, so don't worry you won't lose him.  But it will mean that we can be together back in my time."

Arthur seemed very confused at first, I admit I didn't explain it in the best way (a/n yeah I really didn't, I had no clue how to) but after a while a beaming smile spread across his face.

"That's great news. I am glad you figured this out Peter." I smiled back at him, intertwining my fingers with Merlin's.

"Does this mean you will be leaving soon?" Gwaine questioned, slightly hurt. Throughout my time here Gwaine has acted like a big brother of sorts.

"Sadly yes. But I did have another idea." Merlin looked at me confused, so I continued. "I don't want Merlin to be alone, he will remember all of you when he is awoken. I would never want him to miss you. So I wrote another spell, one that will create dopelgangers for all of you. Time will continue as normal, but in affect skip ahead for me. You will grow old here, then relive your life in the modern world."

(A/N I hope I explained that a bit better.)

"You would do that for me? For all of us?" Merlin asked with tears in his eyes.

"Well yeah. You guys have become like a second family to me. Even more to you Merlin. I don't want to take that away from you." Merlin hugged me tightly, the others awing in the most annoying tone ever.

"Okay okay, I love you too. Now let's go do this spell." I manage to pry merlin off enough so I can walk to a secluded area of the training field, out of sight from the other Knights and servants.

"Right I need everyone to hold hands. This is going to feel weird, but under no circumstances do you let go or the spell will not work."

Everyone nodded and held hands. I began to chant, my eyes turning fiery gold with effort.

"θα ξαναδούμε" I repeated this about five times, Merlin joining in on the third, until I could sense the magic had settled in.

"There. It's done." I said with a beaming smile. Everyone smiled back. Unbeknownst to Merlin I had already completed this spell on Gaius, who I know he considers as a father. I thought it would be a nice surprise.

"How long will it be till we see you again?" Lancelot questions.

"Well technically it will be the rest of your lives. But don't worry,it won't feel like it." The others nodded, looking solemnly at me.

"So when are you leaving?" Merlin whispers.

"Whenever you're ready."

"I'll never be ready."

"Hey, we'll see each other again. Take your time okay, I don't want to rush this either."

Once again the men around us cooed at are cute exchange, to which I flipped them off. Something I had brought with me and introduced here. I know I probably shouldn't, but it was so fun seeing Gwaine flip of Arthur, then explaining what it meant.

Another month passed before Merlin came up to me and randomly blurted out, "I'm ready."

I cocked my head at him and he sighed. "I have kept you from your family long enough. When you arrive I will already be there. You should return home."

Even though I knew I would be seeing him soon, I couldn't help but tear up. It was a bitter sweet farewell, tears shed all around. I never thought I would see a king cry, but here we are.

"It's okay. I will see you soon." I say in the happiest voice I can muster. The others look at me fondly and step back, giving me and Merlin a little privacy.

"I'm going to miss you, Peter Parker." Merlin said before kissing me.

"See you soon." I whisper in-between kisses. Merlin laughs slightly and pulls away. His eyes are already gold, ready to perform the spell.

"Goodbye" I whisper as I feel the spell take affect.

Stay tuned for part three!!!!
