CHAPTER06

"Holy fuck holy fuck HOLY FUCK-" Was all Jeongin was chanting a he held tried to grip onto the damp and peeling wall behind him.

Now, before you get any wild ideas,  Jeongin was not in fact against a wall having the time of his life- which as a sexually deprived teenager desperately in need of a freckled boyfriend, would be much appreciated- it was much the opposite in fact.

Instead, he was on the verge of tears and his heart was beating out of his chest, as there was practically a canyon separating him from the rest of his teammates.

For some context, in case you're still confused.

Today was their borough sporting event, and the JYP ACADEMY swimming team were meant to compete that afternoon. Excited to finally go on a trip with the older team members (and obviously not just Felix, who he was still hopelessly pinning over), Jeongin had barely slept the night before and showed up the earliest infront of the school, waiting patiently for his teammates.

Well, one of the earliest. As not even minutes after he arrived, the Bang brothers happily waltzed up- with breakfast for the team! Felix hesitantly passed Jeongin a bagel and a juice box, to which Jeongin accepted graciously eventhough he was not hungry. But to see Felix suddenly perk up, and consequently finding out he had made the bagels himself the night before, Jeongin might have choved all of it into his mouth in adoration.

Some choking and a few minutes later, the team of tired and hungry boys filed into the small coach, half awake and not bothered who sat where or with who.

So as a result, instead of his friends keeping a seat vacant for him, Jeongin was shunned to the seat beside the one and only Bang Chan- an angel amongst the hormonal and frankly smelly boys. The whole journey there they spoke softly about everything and anything, as Felix and Jisung slept soundly behind them, and their snoring coach infront of them.

Arriving at the centre was filled with gasps and eye-rubbing, because the building was certainly over 300 hundred years old. With a thousand or so children attending, just how the door frame stayed in tact as they walked in was a mystery. Even the pool looked old and used, but the boys were not about to complain and be disrespectful the century old organisers. Instead they smiled, looked around in fake-awe, and were shown to their waiting rooms.

Entering the waiting rooms was met with much the same reactions, as the floor was probably bending inwards at the group of 20 teenage athletes huddling onto the couches and chairs. Not to mention when Hyunjin dropped his bag onto the table, it made an awful creaking nose and slanted to one side.

But hey, atleast there was a coffee machine.

Felix, the angel he was, asked if anyone would like a cup- mentioning he brought some disposable plastic cups 'just in case'. The still tired boys (it was not even 9 am yet) nodded absentmindedly, and Felix jumped up and over to the small island with a sink and coffee machine. Jeongin decided to help out as well, pushing a sleeping Jisung off him and bounced his way over to a smiling freckled teenager on the other side of the room.

And that is where, it started going south. (Oh.)

Felix's hair stood on end, and he looked over in fear to see Jeongin obviously making his way over, completely unaware of the collapsing floor beneath him, "JEONGIN WAIT!"

"What?" Jeongin replied, freezing immediately, tensing up. "What's wrong?!" He asked in fear, the pure terror and shock on Felix's face enough to send a wave of fear through his veins.

Felix put down the plastic cups he was fiddling with, taking slow steps towards him, "Don't move. The floor is bending, I think it's going to fall. Please don't move."

"What? Felix-" Jeongin started, completely still with his movements but unconsciously shaking, "Felix that's not funny. Please tell me you're joking."

"Holy shit." The familiar voice of Seungmin said behind him, "Shit the- the floor! What the fuck is this? Why is bending around him like that?"

Jeongin was paralysed, vaguely aware of panic beginning to ensue around him, the discomforting screaming of his coach almost non existent in his pounding ears. All the young boy could do was stare at Felix in fear, and Felix held his gaze, slowly moving forward.

For the love of god, after weeks and weeks of the same bullshit- the universe just had to try and kill Jeongin again? They were miles away from Seoul, there was no way the cocky no good hero-complex spandex-wearing vigilante was going to come and rescue him.

So that could only mean on thing, "I'm going to die." Jeongin whispered in horror, staring at Felix, who looked much the same.

"We're on the 1st floor!" Hyunjin hissed behind him, "If he falls, he'll fall straight onto concrete 20 feet below us. Oh god."

"Should we call someone?" Jisung whispered back, wincing as the coach was already screaming into the phone at some 'useless asshole looking pathetic waste of space' person.

Seungmin frowned, "We can't get to him, the floor won't hold."

Felix was now 5 or so feet infront of Jeongin, pressing down hard on where the damp floor wood began to bend, "Hey Jeongin, buddy? You need to jump to the side."

"I think the fuck not!" He shouted, breath haggard, "If I move it'll fall dipshit!" The youngest boy if the team felt and immediately after the words left his mouth, but the dear of imminent death was far too overpowering for an apology to pass his lips.

Felix however remained unfazed, "If you take a step forward or backward it will, but if you jump towards the wall, you'll be fine." The deep voiced boy replied with care, explaining everything calmly and soothingly.

The boy let out a whine, crushing Felix's heart. "Come on Jeongin, trust me. You can do it."

Jeongin visibly jerked when the tears began to fall down his face, breathing in heavily as he surpassed a sob and stared at Felix.

All of a sudden a punch to the stomach hit him, when deja vu suddenly transformed the situation into one that occured only a few days ago.

"Don't cry Jeongin." Felix said, a broken expression on his face. His eyes were glistening, like he was also going to cry along with Jeongin, vulnerable without his mask.

"Holy fuck." Jeongin whispered under his breath, when all he could see was red and black material infront of him instead of his freckled crush and teammate.

"Trust me Jeongin. Jump." He continued, taking one minuscule step forward, flinching as the floor creaked, "I promise I'll catch you if you fall."

Surprisingly, Jeongin knew deep in his heart that Felix would jump down after him. Because Felix was-

"Oh my holy fuck." Was all Jeongin said out loud, before he jumped towards the grimy wall, and everyone around him screamed as the place where he once stood collapsed with a disgusting crash of wood.

He however was left to clutch onto the wall like a scared cat, the last few weeks making so much sense all of a sudden.

"Holy-"
