"Peter! Stop!" You let out a laugh, trying to escape the path of his camera.
"Sorry y/n, my camera just naturally follows art." He replied, never taking his brown eyes off of you.
It was your two year anniversary, and guess what the two of you do? Roam around the mall. You two had agreed that as long as you were in each other's company, everything would be alright.
Of course, Peter decided to document your journey through stores with his brand new camera that you had bought him. He loved it with all his heart, yet you felt that it didn't compare to his gift to you.
"Hey, Peter," you placed a small, loving kiss on his lips. "What're we up to today?"
"As long as I'm with you, I'm up for anything." Peter replied, love filling up the emotion in his eyes. "But I was thinking we could roam around the mall? I-it's up to you."
"I'd like that. Let me just grab my jacket and we can head out, yeah?"
He nodded, watching your every move. Silently, he wondered how he got so lucky with you. How could a gorgeous person like you fall in love with someone like him? Maybe it was plainly meant to be. He thought about you everyday, and constantly hoped he was in your mind as well.
As for you, you could practically feel his brown eyes on you. Smiling to yourself, the memories of when you had first asked him out came flooding back in. You had just plainly stood up and asked him if he wanted to accompany you to a movie. What you failed to tell him was the dinner was actually in the movie.
You were slightly embarrassed and shy when he came in with his backpack full of movie theatre illegal snacks. Apologizing profusely, he had squeezed your hand that was holding his to calm you down. In the end, you managed to enjoy your night of snacks and gourmet dinner.
"Y/n?" Peter's voice brought you back to reality.
You turned around with a loving smile on your face. When Peter came into your line of vision, he held out an open velvet box. Inside wasn't an engagement ring, to which you let out a small, thankful sigh. You two were still only seniors in high school. Instead, you saw a necklace engraved with both Peter and your's initials, as well as a matching ring.
"I promise to always love you, y/n. I'll love you as long as you let me. This is my promise to you." He whispered.
Peter slung a arm over your shoulder, attempting to take a photo of the two of you. Instead of resisting, you carefully laid your head on his shoulder, hoping to get an adorable photo for your locker. "Couple goals."
As much as you two liked being called the 'perfect couple,' neither of you believed the label. Sure, you two had tons of pictures of each other in your lockers, you walked together to your classes, goofed off in class, and always seemed to have the perfect dates; but what couple wouldn't? The both of you had felt that every couple had their own definition of perfect.
"Well that's unfortunate." Peter mumbled, clicking the shutter button multiple times. You hummed in question. "There's no memory left."
Quickly, you opened up the pocket in your jacket and searched around for the extra memory card that you had; knowing that he'd run out of storage beforehand. You handed it to him with a smile, your hands lightly brushing. Actions like those still made your heart flutter and your stomach fill up with butterflies. You immediately felt your love build up until you could no longer keep it to yourself.
For two years, you had failed to say three simple, meaningful words. You were extremely afraid that you'd manage to say the words and then suddenly lose Peter. When you heard him mutter the words, you had felt guilty; all because you were too afraid to say it back. Hell, you could even barely say it in your mind.
As your realization set in and your confidence level went up, you smiled up at Peter. "I love you."
"Are you serious?" He asked, a sense of disbelief in his voice. You whispered a quiet yes in reply.
He grinned, delicately placing his hands on your hips and pressing a genuine, passionate kiss on your lips. As soon as you two broke apart, Peter lifted you up and spun you around.
You were in deep love with this boy that stood in front of you. You fell in love with his brown eyes, his curly hair, his personality. You fell in love with everything all over again.
"How about I go grab us something to eat?" He nodded in reply.
You kissed his cheek and left to grab a lemonade for the two of you. Unbeknownst to you, he had turned the camera back on. "She told me she loves me!"
Peter turned the camera around so it was now pointing directly at you, "that's my baby."
