This week was just plainly normal for you. No new drama, no absurd homework assignments, just plain normal. So, here you were, furiously writing down notes before the teacher changed the slides. Peter was next to you, completely dazed out as always. As for Ned, he was scrolling through his phone, already knowing all of the material on the board. Taking a quick glance over Peter's shoulder, you only saw your first name before the bell rang and everyone ran to lunch.
You quietly picked up your backpack, swerving into the sea of teenagers and towards your locker. No matter how hard you tried not to overthink, you kept circling around to Peter's notebook filled with your name. Why would he have filled a whole page when he liked Liz? Did he really like Liz? Was this all in your head?
"Hey, y/n!" A sudden voice snapped you out of your thoughts. "You comin'?"
You spun around only to meet the gaze of Peter Parker, holding a hand out for you to take. In reply, you smiled and shut your locker, grabbing his hand. It didn't feel weird, in all honesty. His hand fit perfectly into yours and a smile was plastered on both of your faces. When you two entered the lunch room, you expected Peter to let go of your hand, but he didn't, only when you got to the table.
As soon as you pulled out your history textbooks, you could feel someone staring at you. Of course, you met his brown orbs staring back at you. When he noticed you looking at him, he immediately dropped his gaze back to the same notebook he had in algebra.
From across the table, you heard Ned whisper something to Peter. "You are so obvious, Peter."
You sat in silence, the comforting sound of the constant chatter surrounding you. Unknowingly, Ned was watching MJ sketch both you and Peter beside you, knowing that the drawing would come in handy later. Continuing on your studying, you both took secretive glances at one another, but you kept wondering why your name was filling up his paper, and why he didn't bother to hide it.
Time seemed to pass by fairly quickly, your mind not wanting to let go of Peter. You only got a few minutes of studying in before the bell rang again, signaling the next, and final, class. Which happened to be with Peter. As soon as you both got inside of the classroom, the teacher ran to get copies of something, which meant you had at least fifteen minutes of free-time.
You brought out your phone from your pocket, only to have it turned off and placed on the lab table. Looking at Peter confused, you placed your phone back into your coat pocket.
"What's up with you, Peter?" You asked, his hazel eyes seeming to put you in a trance.
Instead of replying, he simply opened his notebook and shoved it towards you. He quickly folded his arms and laid his head face down on the table. Flipping through the pages, you saw the small doodles he labeled as 'Y/n and Peter" and your name with his last. Your eyebrows caught together, confused as to why he was showing you this all now.
"I like you, y/n. Like, a lot." Peter said, his words partially being muffled from the table.
Almost immediately after hearing that sentence, you grabbed the hood of his sweatshirt and lightly pulled him up. As soon as he was sitting up, the palms of your hands found his cheeks and you pressed a light kiss to his lips.
Your lips both locked together, your minds reminding you that the two of you were still in school. Starting to hear a few whistles from the front of the class, you both pulled apart, loving smiles on your faces.
"You're adorable, y/l/n," Peter laughed, his hands lightly holding onto your hips. "How about I take you on a date tonight?"
You eagerly nodded, happy that after subtle glances and childish jokes, you had finally gotten Peter Parker to ask you out. He pressed a quick kiss to your lips once more, the teacher entering the room soon after. A smile was still ghosting over your lips as you tried to focus on what the teacher was saying. Peter slid a piece of paper over to you, giving you a little wink before turning his attention upfront.
When you opened the lined piece of loose leaf paper, you were greeted with a drawing of both you and Peter. Quickly noticing the signature at the bottom corner as MJ's, you mentally noted to thank her for that. Your hand moved to Peter's, intertwining your fingers together as you attempted to slide the paper into your notebook, hoping that you wouldn't lose it anytime soon.
"Thank you, Peter." You whispered, squeezing his hand a little. From the corner of your eye, you could see him smile.
It may have taken a few months, but he had finally gotten the girl of his dreams. Ned wouldn't have to hear his constant complaints about not being confident or thinking about you with another guy, finally. And MJ wouldn't have to hear about your grudges against Liz or your theories about brainwashing aliens anymore. It was truly a blessing for everyone, and you couldn't be happier.
