" i can't act like what I'm doing isn't wrong. "

Your hands were starting to get irritated from scaling all the brick walls and touching all the rusty stairwell railings. To speak your truth, you realized that maybe this lifestyle wasn't for you, attacking and bringing down people that you once looked up to you. After the things that happened last year, you thought that moving to the 'other side' would benefit both sides of your scenario, but it made it much worse.

Legs dangling off the side of the building, you started to rethink everything that you had done, wondering if you should come back in contact with your old team. People knew about you, but no one seemed to notice unless someone else-- a well-known person-- was added to the mix. Your heart ached to go back to the way things were before you made up your mind. Your heart ached for Peter.

"So, we're hanging out around innocent apartment buildings, are we now?" A familiar voice echoed behind you. Turning around, you noticed the signature cloud of red surrounding her hands. You wanted to be happy, but another part of you wanted to carry out the mission that had been given to you a few hours ago. Just merely thinking of the things they described to you almost brought you to tears.

"Wanda," you let out a breath that you were absentmindedly holding in. You ran into her arms, holding onto her as tight as you could. She accepted your embrace, holding you with one arm and holding your head in her other. "I-I didn't mean to leave, I promise. I can't do this, but I have to."

Her expression practically was asking you why you absolutely had to carry out your given mission. "They know who I am. They know where I live. Who knows what the hell they'll do to me if I don't do this."

She shook her head, hating to have to watch your heart break because of one person. "Not if you stay with us. And before you say anything, I will clear up everything for you with the team. You just need to come back."

You smiled, thinking about the rest of the team at the tower. The knife that was once in the back pocket of your jeans was now placed in your hands. Instead of carrying out what you were supposed to do, you threw it down into an alley where no one was. A part of the weight that was on your shoulders was gone, but until you were back into your old room, you were still going to be worried.

Your thoughts were cut short when another voice rang through the cool New York air. "y/n? You're the person I've been chasing for the past month?"

Your eyes locked with Peter's familiar brown eyes. The person who you never thought you would see again caused you to be breathless. Peter was still in his Spider-Man outfit, his eyes glossing over with a few tears. His face twisted into a mix of confusion and sadness, thousands of questions racing through his mind.

Wanda moved herself to one building to another, planning to give you two privacy whilst planning to call someone she trusted the most. A silence swept over both you and Peter, a small sense of awkwardness between you two. You desperately wanted to explain everything to him, but you felt as if you had a few minutes to talk to him.

"I'm sorry," you whispered, the cold wind blowing against your skin. Peter was speechless, surprised that he was seeing you again after months of not being able to trace your whereabouts. "I can't act like what I'm doing isn't wrong. After everything that happened, there was this moment where I thought that changing my thoughts was going to solve anything, but it didn't. I didn't expect all this to happen, I promise you."

Peter's eyebrows lowered, a sympathetic look on his face. "Are you coming back?"

You looked over to Wanda, who still happened to be on the phone. Looking back to Peter, you shrugged. "I want to, so bad. I-I just don't know if that's possible."

He walked over to you, placing one hand on the side of your face. A rare tear had dropped down his cheek. Although he didn't want to tell you, he missed you. So much that he had regretted every word that he said when he broke up with you. He believed that it was the best thing to do to keep you safe. Though, you proved to him that you were perfectly capable of keeping yourself safe. But it was at the wrong time.

"Listen, y/n, I-we want you to come back. I want things to go back to the way they were and I want to be together again," Peter started, clearing his throat and pulling you closer to him. "But we can't jump into this too fast, that is, if you want to."

You nodded, wanting to be with Peter again, even if it was baby steps or merely even friends.

"We're good to go, I cleared everything up for everyone and I promise you'll be safe back at the tower," Wanda explained, standing in between the two of you. Even though she knew that you two were bound to get back together, she couldn't help but be protective of you.

You were one amazing kid, despite a drama-filled life and being only a teenager. But both you and Peter tried to convince everyone that you weren't kids anymore.

It hardly ever worked.
