After everything you've done for him. After all the late nights studying and quick kisses from one another in the hallway; he decides to break up with you over text. And on your birthday.
You took the box out of your closet labeled as 'Peter's things' and started putting everything he gave you and things you stole in the box, planning to give it to him this morning.
You went through your closet, pulling almost every shirt off of your hangers, mentally noting that you would have to go out and buy clothes soon. Coming across the last few items, you froze. In front of you was one of the hoodies that he gave to you when you first became 'official.'
"Uh, here. Take this." Peter whispered, throwing you his blue hoodie. You caught it in one swift movement, quickly realizing that this was his way of letting people know that you were his.
"Are you sure? I can always stop at my house quick." You explained, still holding onto the hoodie.
"One hundred percent sure, babe." He assured, grabbing the hoodie and putting it over your head. It was baggy and long in the arms; perfect for New York weather.
You smiled at the memory, deciding to keep one piece of him with you; even if he would never love you again. The strings were a bit chewed up, due to your anxiousness through tests. His light cologne was still lingering, and the broken zipper was hanging off of the chain.
You sighed, slipping the hoodie over your shoulders and getting dressed in your usual ripped black jeans and vibrant top. Not caring how mismatched you looked in a yellow top with blue hoodie, you headed out the door with the box in hand.

As soon as you stepped inside the school, it felt as if the whole atmosphere had completely changed. Apparently news traveled fast.
Ignoring the pity glances from people you hardly knew, you held your head high and traveled to Peter's first hour class. Thankfully no one was inside but him.
You didn't say a word when you walked in, the sound of your squeaking old converse being the only sound in the entire room. Looking down at the box in your hands, you set it down on his desk, right in front of him.
His expression was filled with sorrow, but you didn't care. A weight was lifted off your shoulders as soon as you left the classroom, stopping at your locker and silently breaking down into tears.
The zipper on the hoodie fell off, and you covered his cologne was overlapped with your perfume. You couldn't keep his love. You gave him everything you had and he left you with a text.
MJ and Ned quickly noticed your shaking shoulders and walked over to give you as much comfort possible. As soon as Liz found out, she ran over to your small group. She noticed the hoodie you would always wear, fearing that it would make you even more hollow and sad than you already were.
She peeled the hoodie off your shoulders and went into the same classroom you were just in minutes ago. The hoodie was gone, and you could already feel the memories fading into nothing. What you failed to notice was Peter, staring at you four from the doorway.
